2013 Infiniti M37 problems
The Infiniti M is a line of mid-size luxury (executive) cars from the Infiniti luxury division of Nissan. From 2013 (model year 2014) on it has been marketed as the Infiniti Q70, reflecting the company's new naming scheme.
The first iteration was the M30 Coupé/Convertible, which were rebadged JDM Nissan Leopard. After a long hiatus, the M nameplate was used for Infiniti's mid-luxury sedans (executive cars). First was the short-lived M45 sedan, a rebadged version of the Japanese-spec Nissan Gloria. The next generations, the M35/45 and M37/56/35h/30d, became the flagship of the Infiniti brand and are based on the JDM Nissan Fuga.
First generation (1989–1992)
The Infiniti M30 was a 2-door coupé based on the Japanese market Nissan Leopard (chassis code F31). It was launched in 1989 for the 1990 model year as a luxury coupe alternative to the Infiniti Q45, and was intended to be an alternative to the Lexus SC and Acura Legend coupe for the North American market.
Unlike its competitors that were designed with the American market in mind and were launched as brand-new models, the M30 was based on a somewhat dated platform that was originally designed for the Japanese market; when the Leopard was imported to the United States, few changes were made to the exterior but the interior was revised to better suit American tastes; a leather interior was standard in the M30, and several features in the Leopard such as a center-mounted television screen and a digital instrument cluster weren't available in the M30 as those features were perceived as gimmicks in western car markets.
The M30's angular design aesthetics and on-road performance were viewed as outdated, especially considering a redesigned Acura Legend coupe was launched in 1991. The interior came in for criticism for its outdated ergonomics and lack of room. While the Japanese-market Leopard had received a new dashboard along with the 1988 facelift, economics precluded making a left-hand-drive version of the new dashboard and the M30 was instead fitted with the LHD version of the R31 Skyline's rectilinear dashboard, first presented in 1985.
The M30 made up for these deficiencies in its somewhat lower price; whereas the 1990 Acura Legend coupe started at $27,325 before options and the 1990 BMW 325i started at $24,650 before options, the M30 started at $23,500, and had no factory options, per Infiniti's pricing structure used at the time. Dealerships offered an in-car cellular telephone and in-dash CD player as optional accessories, amongst other items.

AIR BAGS,SEATS PROBLEM

- Summary: In December, 2022, the airbag warning light activated. AT a cost to us of over $1500, the Infiniti dealer replaced the failed sensor. What we did not know is that this did not fix the problem and the air bag on the passenger side would never have deployed in the event of an accident. In November, 2023, the airbag warning light again activated. It turns out that the seat assembly had actually failed of which we were unaware. This is a very expensive repair to a part that should never have failed in the first place. After significant discussions with Infiniti, they did decide to cover the cost of the seat assembly itself but not the labor to install it (another $800). At this time, we are still unclear as to whether this will actually solve the problem. Aside from a very expensive repair to a part which never should have failed (especially since the car is very lightly driven) we were and are very concerned that this could have resulted in a very serious injury in the event of a vehicle crash. We consider the discussions with Inifiniti to be unsatisfactory with respect to the whole incident.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM

- Summary: The airbag control module failed on this car which has under 25000 miles on it. The airbag would not have deployed if the car was in an accident and insurance claims would have been void so we had no choice but to immediately replace the module at a cost of over $2,000. The dealer inspected and confirmed that this was the case (and also that they have seen it happen on other Infinity's). The warning light was the first indication of the problem and we immediately took it to the dealer who replaced it. We can understand mechanical failures in an older car but it seems ridiculous that this vital piece of safety equipment would fail on a car with very low mileage and we have never had a car where the airbag system failed.

- Summary: ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 15, I WAS IN CAMARILLO FOR A HAIRCUT APPOINTMENT. IT WAS 11:25 AND MY APPOINTMENT WAS AT 11:40. I WAS ALREADY IN THE PARKING SPACE, MOVING AT A SLOW SPEED AND WAS APPROXIMATELY 6 FT. FROM THE RAISED CONCRETE CURB AT THE END OF THE PARKING SPACE. SUDDENLY THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND I OBSERVED SMOKE FROM THE TIRES. I LATER SAW THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE TIRES DIGGING INTO THE ASPHALT. DURING THE SUDDEN, UNINTENDED ACCELERATION I KEPT WONDERING HOW I WAS GOING TO STOP THE CAR. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS A STURDY TREE THAT STOPPED THE CAR BEFORE CROSSING THE ROAD INTO TRAFFIC. WHEN THE CAR HIT THE TREE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND MY ONLY DAMAGE WAS A SEVERELY BRUISED CHEST AND A BURNT ARM FROM THE GASES EXPELLED BY THE AIRBAG. I SAW THE CAR HIT THE TREE, SAW THE AIRBAG DEPLOY AND FELT A SENSE OF RELIEF THAT THE CAR WAS FINALLY STOPPED. SINCE I HAD SO FEW FEET LEFT TO DRIVE BEFORE I PARKED THE CAR THERE IS NO WAY THAT I WOULD HAVE STOMPED ON THE GAS HARD ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE TIRES TO BURN OUT, LEAVING GOUGE MARKS IN THE ASPHALT.

- Summary: I OWN A 2013 INFINITI AWD M37XS THAT I FEEL IS UNSAFE BECAUSE OF A STEERING ISSUE OR SOMETHING. THE VEHICLE CONTINUALLY VEERS FROM SIDE TO SIDE UNLESS THE ROAD TRAVELLED IS PERFECTLY FLAT WITHOUT ANY IMPERFECTIONS AND IT IS NOT OFTEN A ROAD IS FLAT WITHOUT IMPERFECTIONS.. I HAVE TO CONTINUAL COURSE CORRECTIONS AND IT IS VERY EASY TO OVERCOMPENSATE THE STEERING, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY LEAD TO VEERING OFF THE ROAD ESPECIALLY IF THE ROAD IS A NARROW TRACK/COUNTRY ROAD, CRASHING AND OR CRASHING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. I USE TO LIVE IN NC AND MD AND TO BE HONEST, I CANNOT IMAGINE DRIVING THIS CAR IN ICE OR SNOW. THIS VEHICLE IS HARD TO CONTROL MAKING IT UNSAFE. I'VE SENT MY CONCERNS TO BAKER INFINITI IN CHARLESTON, SC LATE YESTERDAY EVENING AFTER RETURNING FROM A ROAD TRIP AND FEARED FOR MY LIFE. I'VE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE BEFORE BUT WAS TOLD BY ONE OF THE TECHNICIANS AT BAKER INFINITI THAT IT WAS THE WAY THE TIRES HIT THE ROAD. NEW TIRES AND AN ALIGNMENT WILL NOT CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, THEREFORE I BELIEVE THIS IS A TRUE PROBLEM AND IS POTENTIALLY BEING IGNORED BY INFINITI OR YOU ARE UNAWARE. I WAS TERRIFIED TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO REDUCE MY SPEED FROM 50MPH TO 25MPH AND I SWITCHED TO THE OUTER LANES. YEARS AGO IN MY 20'S I NOTICED THIS WITH MY BROTHERS G35, BUT SINCE I WAS A NEW DRIVER I JUST ASSUMED THAT SINCE IT WAS A FAST CAR, MAYBE I COULDN'T HANDLE IT. BUT AS I AM NOW IN MY 30'S AND HAVE OVER 12 YEARS OF DRIVING EXPERIENCE BEHIND ME, COMPARED WITH DRIVING CHRYSLER 300'S, ALTIMA'S, JETTA'S, PASSENGER VANS FOR WORK, ETC. I AM BEGINNING TO THINK THAT THIS MAY BE AN INFINITI FLAW. IT WOULD BE REALLY GREAT IF SOMEONE COULD LOOK INTO THIS. MY CAR HAS LOW MILEAGE AND THE DEALER HAS PROVIDED ME WITH THE SERVICE RECORD AND SHOW ME THE NEW TIRES.

I STARTED DOING SOME INVESTIGATION ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND A CONCEPT CALLED "TRAMLINING" THAT OTHER M INFINITI OWNERS WERE EXPERIENCING AND WHICH DESCRIBED WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING. I DON'T FEEL THERE IS A CERTAIN SPEED THAT TRIGGERS THE CONDITION. YOU REALLY HAVE TO HOLD ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL TO CONTROL THE CAR. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE INFINITI DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AND EXPLAINED THE CONCEPT OF "TRAMLINING". THE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE ROAD AND HOW THE M37'S WHEELS TEND TO FALL INTO THE CURVES AND A BUNCH OF OTHER BLAH, BLAH BLAH STUFF. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING OR THE WHEELS. BUT I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER CARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A STEERING CONTROL PROBLEM. IT CAN BE QUITE SCARY AT TIMES, WHEN THE ROAD IS NOT TOTALLY SMOOTH.
