2000 Infiniti G20 problems
The Infiniti G Line is a series of compact executive cars manufactured and marketed by Infiniti, a luxury division of Nissan, for the 1991–1996 and 1999–2016 model years — across four generations.
The first two generations of the Infiniti G (P10 and P11) were sedans based on the Nissan Primera. Beginning with its third generation (V35), the Infiniti G have been rebadged versions of the Nissan Skyline line of sedans and coupes that were exported to the United States and Canada. The fourth generation (V36) introduced the hardtop coupe convertible. The Nissan FM platform, used with the third and fourth generations (V35 and V36) of the Infiniti G, also underpins the Nissan 370Z and has shared components with the Infiniti M, Infiniti EX, and Infiniti FX.
Infiniti established a new naming convention beginning with the 2014 model year; all passenger cars are designated by the letter "Q," while sport-utility model names begin with "QX." The Infiniti G was to have been replaced by the Infiniti Q50, but the G37 was revived as the Q40 beginning with the 2015 model year.

Common 2000 Infiniti G20 problems
The Infiniti G20, produced by Nissan's luxury division, has been praised for its performance and affordability. However, like any vehicle, it has its share of common problems that owners have reported.
One of the most frequently reported issues with the Infiniti G20 is transmission failure, particularly in the first generation models. Drivers have reported difficulty shifting, slipping gears, or even complete failure. To avoid transmission problems, it is essential to have the transmission fluid checked and changed regularly and to address any issues as soon as they arise.
Another common issue with the first generation of the Infiniti G20 is related to the engine's timing chain. Some drivers have reported that the timing chain stretches, causing a knocking noise. To prevent this issue, it is recommended to have the timing chain inspected regularly and replaced as needed.
The Infiniti G20 also experienced problems with its power steering system. Drivers have reported difficulty turning the wheel or a whining noise when turning, often caused by a failing power steering pump or low power steering fluid. Regular inspections of the power steering system can help prevent these issues.
Furthermore, the Infiniti G20 has experienced issues with its suspension system, particularly in the second generation models. Drivers have reported issues such as a rough ride, bouncing or swaying when driving, or uneven tire wear. These issues are often caused by worn-out shocks, struts, or control arms. Regular inspections of the suspension system and replacement of worn-out components can help prevent these issues.
The Infiniti G20's brakes have also been a source of problems, with drivers reporting worn-out brake pads and rotors, squeaking or grinding noises when braking, and even brake failure. Regular inspections of the brake system and prompt replacement of worn-out components can help prevent these issues.
In addition to these mechanical issues, some owners have reported electrical problems with the Infiniti G20. These issues are often characterized by intermittent electrical issues, such as a dead battery, flickering lights, or malfunctioning accessories. These issues are often caused by a failing alternator or battery. Regular inspections and replacement of worn-out electrical components can help prevent these issues.
In summary, the Infiniti G20 has several common problems, including transmission failure, issues with the timing chain, power steering system, suspension system, brakes, and electrical system. Regular inspections, maintenance, and prompt replacement of worn-out components can help prevent these issues and keep the vehicle running smoothly.

SUSPENSION PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2001-08-17
- Number Of Injuries: 1
- Crash: 1
- VIN: JNKCP11A2YT
- Components: SUSPENSION
- Summary: I WAS ON THE EAST BOUND RAMP MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, A 18 WHEELER (NO LOAD) SUPPOSEDLY SWERVED TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING A CAR THAT CROSSED IN FRONT OF IT. I TRIED TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT BUT COULDN'T BECAUSE THERE WAS NO PLACE TO GO (NO MEDIAN TO THE RIGHT) WHEN I NOTICED THE TRUCK HEADING TOWARDS ME, I THOUGHT I HAD GOTTEN OUT OF HIS WAY, HOWEVER, HE STATED THAT HIS WHEELS/BRAKES LOCKED CAUSING THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK TO HIT ME DIRECTLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. WHEN HE HIT MY CAR, I WAS KNOCKED ACROSS THE HIGHWAY AND ENDED UP IN THE MEDIAN POINTING WEST, I DID A COMPLETE 180 DEGREE TURN, THE WHOLE DRIVERS SIDE WAS DAMAGED, THE GLASS SHATTERED IN ONTO ME, MY SEATBELT FAILED TO RETRACT AND MY SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I ESTIMATE THAT I WAS GOING ABOUT 45 TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY, AND HE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DOING ABOUT 65 WHEN HE LOST CONTROL, FORTUNATELY THE TRAFFICE WAS NOT THAT HEAVY, IT WAS ABOUT 3PM ON A FRIDAY EVENING , THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND SUNNY, AND SINCE TRAFFIC WAS NOT TOO HEAVY ALL THE MOTORISTS WERE ABLE TO AVOID ME, AND I BELIEVE SEVERAL DIALED 911 WHEN IT HAPPENED BECAUSE THE CITY POLICE WAS THERE WITHIN MINUTES AND TOLD ME NOT TO MOVE THAT EMS AND THE STATE TROOPER WAS ON THE WAY. BOTH ARRIVED WITHIN 5 MINUTES AFTER I HAD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I WAS LEFT WITH RUPTURED DISCS IN MY NECK, BULGING DISCS IN MY LOWER BACK AND SOME NERVE DAMAGE. HE WAS ISSUED A CITATION BY THE STATE POLICE.*AK

WAS TOLD THAT THAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. FIRST OF ALL, IF IT ONLY TAKES A ROCK TO PUT A HOLE IN THE CONDENSER, THAT IS DEFINANTLY A DESIGN FLAW. ROCKS ARE EVERYWHERE ON THE HIWAYS. IF THIS VEHICLE IS THIS BADLY DAMAGED BY NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THEN THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD HAVE PLACED SOME KIND OF SHIELD OVER THESE CRITICAL COMPONENTS.*AK
