2011 Infiniti Ex35 problems
The Infiniti QX50, previously the Infiniti EX or Nissan Skyline Crossover until 2013, is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Nissan. EX35 (2007-2013)
The production model EX35 was revealed at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, followed by Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul.
North American model of the EX35 went on sale in December 2007 as a 2008 model year vehicle. The EX35 was offered with a 297 hp (221 kW) 3.5 L V6 (VQ35HR) until it was rebadged in 2013 as EX37 with a 325 hp (242 kW) 3.7 L V6 (VQ37VHR). For the 2014 model year, Infiniti again rebadged all of its models renaming the EX37 as QX50.

We just got a bomb cyclone bringing snow and for the second winter in a row (new actuator installed last winter for same complaint) my actuator has failed. I di not know what is going on with infiniti’s parts but every person i know who has newer infiniti has to get their actuator changed every year because the car locks them inside. If there were to be a crash or a fire or some type of emergency, I…along with every infiniti owner would have to attempt to escape their car through another door or risk death.

- Summary: The door lock actuators fail to work for the doors both inside and outside if the temperature gets below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. (Also within this weather, my outer door handle which is physically attached to said actuator) has broken off. I've repaired one actuator with an aftermarket one but the drivers door actuator is only made by Infiniti. The cost of the part alone is $800 the labor is another $300. The risk is that in the case of a crash, engine fire, and/or severe mechanical failure, I will be unable to exit my vehicle and will subsequently die should such an situation occur. I've spoken to several mechanics that tell me it's quite common with Nissans and infiniti's. I've seen on dozens of forums that they believe there should be a recall on this since it's been happening for 20+years and isn't covered under warranty due to being a wear and tear part.

The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V755000 (Power Train) however, the dealer informed the contact that the parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that while making a left turn from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle drove 2 MPH and stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that as he released the accelerator pedal and depressed it again, he was able to drive the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and advised the contact that they would follow up with the dealer. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

My safety and others safety is put at risk when I'm accelerating above 60 mph and the vehicle begins to shake violently causing the vehicle to veering into on coming traffic or nearby lanes. This problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle hasn't been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. This problem first appeared about 4 years ago but progressively gotten worse. In December 13, 2020 — An Infiniti driveshaft recall includes more than 2,700 vehicles with driveshafts that may break. The recalled vehicles include 2011-2013 Infiniti M56, 2012-2013 M35 Hybrid, 2014 Q70 and 2014 Infiniti Q70 Hybrid vehicles. Unfortunately, my vehicle wasn't included in this recall and it yet should.

I NOTICED WHEN I PURCHASED THE INFINITI 2011 M56 THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ON AFTER A PASSENGER HAS BEEN SITTING ON THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT AND EXITS THE VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER JUST NEEDS TO SIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FOR A FEW MINUTES TO EXHIBIT THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS I DON'T KNOW IF THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY PROPERLY AS THE OCCUPANCY SENSOR IS FALSELY TRIGGERING A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIRBAG LIGHT INDICATOR WILL SOMETIMES BE ON OR OFF WHEN THE SEAT BELT LIGHT COMES ON. AFTER TAKING THE CAR BACK AND FORTH ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND TO MULTIPLE INFINITI DEALERSHIPS, WAS FINALLY ABLE TO TO GET TO THE PROBLEM. ONE OF THE DEALERSHIP WAS FINALLY ABLE TO CONCLUDE IT WAS DUE TO THE FRONT PASSENGER OCCUPANCY SENSOR. EVEN HAD AN INFINITI ENGINEER FROM THE NORTHER CA REGION CONFIRM THE ISSUE WAS INDEED DUE TO THE OCCUPANCY SENSOR. THIS ISSUE WAS FIRST REPORTED WHEN UNDER THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY HOWEVER INFINITI AND INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS WILL NOT HONOR THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. ALSO I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY JUST FOR THIS PURPOSE HOWEVER THIS PART IS NOT COVERED.

- Summary: THIS CAR HAD AN UNEXPLAINED EPISODE OF SUDDEN ENGINE POWER LOSS AND DECELERATION FOLLOWED BY ENGINE SHUTDOWN AND TEMPORARY INABILITY TO RESTART THE ENGINE. WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON A SLIGHTLY INCLINED HIGHWAY, I SUDDENLY FELT THAT THE CAR NEEDED TO DOWNSHIFT BUT IT WAS NOT DOING SO. AS I CONTINUED TO EXERT ADDITIONAL PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR BEGAN TO NOTICEABLY AND QUICKLY LOSE ENGINE POWER. THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES WORKED NORMALLY, AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, BY WHICH TIME THE ENGINE HAD STOPPED RUNNING. I ESTIMATE I TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF MILE FROM THE FIRST SIGN OF TROUBLE. THERE WERE NO UNUSUAL SOUNDS OR ODORS. IF ANY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, I DID NOT NOTICE THEM. ACCESSORY ITEMS SUCH AS THE RADIO, AIR CONDITIONING, NAVIGATION SYSTEM, AND POWER WINDOWS STILL OPERATED. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES UNSUCCESSFULLY TO RESTART THE CAR. THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OVER. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY UNUSUAL LIGHTS OR MESSAGES ON THE DASHBOARD, BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT DEPRESS AS IT NORMALLY DOES DURING THE STARTING PROCESS. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER WHO ARRIVED A LITTLE MORE THAN AN HOUR LATER STARTED THE CAR NORMALLY. THERE WAS NO HESITATION IN STARTING, AND THE ENGINE RAN SMOOTHLY. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ABOUT 10 TO 15 MINUTES AFTER I STARTED THE CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT DAY. IT HAD BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 5 MILES IN THE PREVIOUS 5 DAYS, BUT OTHERWISE THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUAL ABOUT THE DRIVING CONDITIONS. SINCE THIS INCIDENT, THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 700 MILES ON THE HIGHWAY AND BEEN USED FOR SEVERAL DAYS OF LOCAL SHORT TRIPS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. IT HAS BEEN CHECKED AT A GENERAL PURPOSE AUTO REPAIR FACILITY AND THEN BY AN INFINITI DEALER. NOBODY HAS FOUND ANYTHING TO INDICATE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. *JS

- Summary: TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 INFINITI M56X. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, SHORTLY AFTER THE BATTERY DIED, THE LIGHTS FAILED AND THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED, LEAVING THE CONTACT TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM

- Summary: WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM THROUGH INFINITI SERVICE CENTER SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR 10 MONTHS AGO WITH ONLY 28K MILES. THE VEHICLE HAS SEVERE HESITATION WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY AFTER SLOWING OR STOPPING. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS TO MAKE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN INTO TRAFFIC FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE HESITATES FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 SECONDS, AND THEN JERKS SUDDENLY AND GOES. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC AS A RESULT OF THIS WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR!! ALSO, WHILE IN AUTOMATIC DRIVE THE VEHICLE REPEATEDLY WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR WHEN REMOVING FOOT FROM BRAKE TO ACCELERATOR, BUT INSTEAD ROLLS BACKWARD (SIMILAR TO A MANUAL TRANSMISSION) FORCING ME TO IMMEDIATELY HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PREVENT COLLISION INTO VEHICLES BEHIND ME. THE DANGERS OF THIS VEHICLE ARE A LIABILITY ON MY PART IN THE EVENT THAT IT CAUSES ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE T WHEN TURNING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY BUT SERVICE CENTER HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE RESET THE COMPUTER BUT THE ISSUES JUST RETURN. INFINITI WILL BE FACING SERIOUS LAWSUITS FROM DEATH OR INJURY IF THIS TRANSMISSION OR COMPUTER ISSUE IS NOT REPAIRED SOON. COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS THAT MY $40000 VEHICLE MUST REMAIN PARKED FOR EXTENDED PERIODS BECAUSE I AM TOO SCARED TO DRIVE IT FOR FEAR OF IT CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I AM HOPING FOR A RECALL AS THIS SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE FOR THE M SERIES. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PEDALS WERE POSITIONED AT THE SAME HEIGHT LEVELS. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND ACCIDENTALLY DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AS WELL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO REMEDIES FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
