2001 Hyundai Tiburon problems
The Hyundai Tiburon (Korean: 현대 티뷰론) known in Europe as the Hyundai Coupé (현대 쿠페) is a sports coupe that was produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai from 1996 to 2008.
The name "Tiburon", a slight variation of "tiburón", the Spanish word for "shark", is the name given to the North American, Australian, New Zealand, South African, and Austrian production of the vehicle. It was known as the Hyundai Coupe in some European markets and Indonesia. It had been branded as the Turbulence (터뷸런스) and Tuscani (투스카니) in the home South Korean market.
The model had been released in two generations (RC) over its lifespan and in that time these generations have been subject to periodic facelifts. These facelifts have attempted to keep the car up to date with various safety improvements and a mixture of changes to exterior and interior styling. The RD Tiburon was in production for 5 years from 1996 to 2001. The GK Tiburon was introduced in 2002 (as a 2003 model) and ended production in 2008 before being replaced by the Hyundai Veloster.

I bought mine about 4 months ago and I must say that I'm not disappointed. Although it could use more ponies, and some of the interior trim is cheap, for the money it is an outstanding value. It's exceptionally fun to drive, has good gas mileage, and I received great service at the dealership. In my opinion, nothing else in the price class even comes close. I highly recommend getting the leather and rims, it's definitely worth it.

Hi there! I wanted to share some information about my car with you. Back in 2001, I bought it brand new for 13,563.19. It's fully loaded with leather seats and a CD player. While it does rattle a bit, I expected that. I love racing it in SCCA SOLOII H Stock and it performs really well. With a few modifications, I think it could do even better! What's really impressive is that it weighs only 63lbs more than the Integra Type R. Even after attending many races and putting 22,000 miles on it, I still haven't had to replace the brake pads. Thanks for listening!

I have a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon and I absolutely love it! It's definitely the cutest 'cheaper' car I've come across. Although, I wouldn't mind trading it for a Porsche Boxter or something similar... ;)

My dad bought me a 2001 Tiburon in 2003. I thought it was so cute and there aren't that many on the road. It gave me a little trouble, but only because the person who had it before me didn't take good care of it! I wouldn't trade it for the most expensive car in the world.
-
I think this car is actually quite decent. Although it can be hard to get into reverse at times, it seems to be a well-built car with the exception of the road noise. I would prefer a standard rear wiper for safety reasons. Overall, considering the price and warranty, it's a pretty good deal.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my car. It currently has 67,000 miles on it and unfortunately, I've been having some issues with it lately. Despite keeping up with all the scheduled maintenance, I've had to spend almost $2500 on repairs that weren't covered under warranty. I've been told that the clutch and power steering are also starting to wear out. This is actually my second Hyundai, but I must admit I'm a bit disappointed with the warranty coverage. The drive train warranty only covers internal engine and transmission parts, which I wasn't aware of when I purchased the car. Just wanted to give you a heads up! Thanks for listening.

This car has been a disappointment since the day we drove it off the lot. Unfortunately, we have had to take it into the dealer multiple times to get it fixed, but the problem persists. As a result, we cannot recommend this car to anyone. If you are considering purchasing one, we suggest looking into other options. Thank you for your understanding.
Wayne Mills 2024-04-18
Overall, I like the way the car drives. However, I did notice a problem with the car a couple of days after driving it off the lot. It had an intermittent vibration and wobbling that was out of control. I also noticed that the car pulled to the left side. The most frustrating part of this experience was dealing with the dealership. Despite taking it in several times, they claimed that nothing was wrong with the car. I believe the issue was with the tires, which I had to replace myself since it was not covered. I also had to replace a few other parts. It was disappointing to have these problems with my new car, but I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about car maintenance and repair. Thank you for your understanding.

This car has been a bit of a challenge for us. We've had some issues with squeaks and the headlights needing replacement after rain. We did have to replace the transmission at 80,000 miles, but thankfully it was covered under warranty. We've had to have it towed a few times, but we upgraded our towing miles through AAA just in case. Just wanted to give a heads up to any potential buyers out there.
