The assembly was redesigned mid 2020 and is now the common fix for all who are affected by this issue. During this failure the blend door cannot and will not actuate as it should causing in ability to defrost the windshield causing visibility issues. Additionally, it causes unbearable heat to be released inside the vehicle with no warning causing additional safety issues for drivers and passengers. The issue is widely observed for all owners of early generations. Even though ford has known about the issue that forced an entire redesign they are unwilling to recall the defective component. I have contacted their corporate office and was informed there is no support for this issue. Today, while driving the system on its own changed to defrost, half of the windshield could be seen through, the other half could not due to variations on both sides which also caused condensation to form.

Codes presented were Hill Start Assist Warning, pre-collision Assist Warning, power train malfunction/reduced power. Drove the vehicle 3 hours in below zero temp. The next day after the vehicle sat in freezing temps, drove approximately 5 miles on snow covered roads when experienced loss of power. Went from 55 miles an hour to less than 10 MPH in about 200 feet. No traffic behind me, drove the remainder of the distance (another 5 miles) at 5-10 mph. Had to have the vehicle tow to a dealership where I was informed that there is a service bulletin on the throttle body. They ended up dumping approximately 2 cups of water from the throttle body. Ford replaced the throttle body at no charge. I called Ford Customer service to share my concern. The fact that the vehicle speed fell off so quickly was what prompted me to call.

When driving on the highway at 60MPH my steering wheel started shimming very bad as I was passing a school bus that I felt I might of hit because it startled me and never felt a steering wheel shimmy so bad like that. Called dealer and they balanced the tires and leaving to return home the shimmy was back almost out of the lot. Are there any recalls on this issue and my backup camera is barely visible. I feel I was taking advantage of knowing there was a problem with this vehicle. - Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, Explorer, Mustang, Transit, Expedition, Escape, Ranger and Edge, and Lincoln Nautilus and Corsair vehicles. Due to a poor electrical connection, the rearview camera may intermittently display a blank or distorted image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- Consequence: Reduced rearward visibility can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. The recall began November 17, 2020. Remedy became available on February 1, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 1, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20C19.

The transmission shift cable lock clip may not be fully seated, allowing the transmission to actually be in a different gear than the gear shift position selected by the driver.
- Consequence: If the transmission selection does not match the indicated gear selection, and the parking brake is not applied, unintended vehicle movement can occur, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
- Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and correct the shift cable locking clip installation, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S18.

The truck is such a blast to drive! It picks up speed quickly when you need it to and the ride is so comfortable. While I do wish it was a bit smaller like the old Rangers, it still fits perfectly in my garage. I always get so many compliments on how great it looks. I had it leveled in the front because it was too low, but other than that, I've had it for 1.5 years with no problems so far.

I recently traded in my 22-year old Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 Extended Cab for a 2020 Ranger Lariat 4x4 Crewcab. My old Ranger was in pristine condition as I always garage my vehicles and it never gave me any problems in 22 years! It was the best vehicle I have ever owned! Based on my positive experience, I decided to purchase another Ranger. Initially, I was considering getting another V-6, but upon reviewing the HP and torque specifications of the new Rangers compared to my 1999 Ranger, I found a significant advantage with the new 2020 Rangers. They did not disappoint as the engine and transmission have the power and smoothness to impress any truck driver. The truck is very attractive, drives well, and is comfortable to drive. Although some reviews mention that they wish the truck had a 6-foot bed option, I find the 5-foot bed to be more than sufficient for my needs. The truck has been able to accommodate all the building materials and landscape items I have needed to carry with ease. I find the truck perfect for my needs, and although it can be a bit bumpy over uneven roads, it has been smooth on the highway. I expected the truck to be a little bumpy as that has been my experience with all of the 4x4 trucks I have driven. The ride is just a little stiffer on 4x4's!

I purchased my 2020 Ford Ranger XLT Supercrew cab 4x4 brand new on 10/31/20. I traded in my 2018 Mustang GT 6 speed manual, which I loved, because I was traveling a lot from Florida to upstate NY to visit my grandchildren. The drive was 1300 miles each way, and I made the trip ten times in 2021. I decided to buy the Ranger because I needed a vehicle that could handle driving in the snow during Christmas time, and a Mustang is not ideal for that. I made sure to service my Ranger regularly, including oil and filter changes as well as tire rotations every 3-5K miles. However, I started to notice a high pitched squeal coming from beneath the car at around 20K miles. It sounded like a brake sensor or wheel bearing, and it was quite loud when it happened, which was most of the time. I brought it back to the dealer, and they gave me some good news and bad news. The good news was that it wasn't the brakes, but the bad news was that it was either the transmission or transfer case. Unfortunately, they couldn't fix it even though it was still under warranty because they didn't have a transmission tech anymore. When I asked what I should do, they suggested calling around to other Ford dealers. However, the four closest Ford dealers in my area (Treasure Coast of southern Florida) didn't have a transmission tech either. I spoke to customer service at Ford headquarters multiple times, and they tried to set something up with a dealer over an hour away. I explained that I would be willing to leave my truck for a month if necessary, but I would need a loaner with AWD since I was planning to spend Christmas with my family in upstate NY. They said it was all set up, but when I called the dealer, they knew nothing about it. Additionally, they wouldn't be able to check out the truck until the middle of January at the earliest.They didn't have any loaner cars available, including AWD ones, and unfortunately, they couldn't loan me a vehicle because I was taking it out of state, which they don't allow. It was a frustrating two weeks trying to solve the problem, but I reached out to many dealers, lemon law lawyers, and even a transmission place to see what could be done. Luckily, the owner of the shop used to be the transmission specialist at the Ford dealer where I bought the Ranger and was able to find a service bulletin with all the necessary repair parts and instructions. I asked him about the cost of the repair, and he estimated around $1000 for parts and $1000 for labor. Although I didn't have him do the work, I called Ford customer service to see if they would reimburse me for the cost if I had it done by a professional transmission shop with an excellent reputation. Unfortunately, they couldn't offer any reimbursement. I was feeling frustrated because my family was waiting for me to spend Christmas with them in upstate NY, and I needed a 4-wheel drive vehicle to drive in the snow. Ford customer service and two Ford dealer service department reps suggested that I drive the vehicle up to NY and back, which was a total of 2600 miles, and then take it to a dealer with a transmission tech when I got back. However, I didn't feel comfortable doing that, especially if I broke down in the middle of the night on the interstate. They assured me that I had roadside breakdown assistance with my warranty, and they would tow it to a dealer if I broke down. I was still concerned about what would happen if there were no transmission techs at the Ford dealers where I broke down, but they were confident that they would be able to help me out. What if they don't have any loaners available? What am I supposed to do? I would like to bring to your attention that I have experienced issues with the warranty on the cars sold by Ford. It would be greatly appreciated if this matter could be addressed. Additionally, I have been informed by several dealers that they have encountered similar issues with 2019-2020 Ford Rangers, 2020 F150s, and even 2020 Mustangs with the 10-speed automatic. As a loyal customer of 40 years, I am disappointed to have encountered these issues. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The ride on my Lariat 2020 Ranger is not what I expected. The suspension is inadequate for the truck, causing it to sway back and forth like a boat when going over driveway curbs one wheel at a time. Even slight heaves in the road require careful attention to steering, especially in strong winds at high speeds. In my opinion, this truck poses a safety risk. However, my dealer has informed me that other Ranger trucks exhibit similar behavior.

I have experienced issues with a leaky exhaust and smelly HVAC since the ride home. Despite being told that it was just the new car smell and that it would go away, the issues persist and have even caused me headaches. Unfortunately, the process to get it fixed has been slow and not worth the money that I paid. Additionally, I find that trucks from this manufacturer are overpriced. Despite putting 6k down, I am now upside down and unable to trade it in. Based on my experience, I have decided that I will not be purchasing a Ford again.

My 2020 XL STX has some issues that need to be addressed. The D mode is practically undrivable with low grade gas, as the fuel injection struggles with the 1,3,5 transmission change at take off. However, the S mode works better, but only with premium gas. The shocks on the XL STX are not up to par, making it difficult to even sip coffee while driving. Despite these issues, the truck performs exceptionally well with a full payload, thanks to its powerful engine and great leaf springs. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on its towing capabilities. The drive seat cloth wrinkles, and the window switches are in an inconvenient spot. Additionally, the heat and air conditioning buttons are confusing. Overall, this truck has its quirks, but its power and payload make it a reliable workhorse.
