Chrysler Lhs problems

The Chrysler LHS is a full-size luxury four-door sedan that was produced by Chrysler for the 1994 through the 2001 model years, with a one-year hiatus for 1998. It replaced the Chrysler Imperial and the Chrysler Fifth Avenue as the division's flagship model. The LHS was rebadged as the Concorde Limited for the 2002 model year.
First generation (1994–1997)
Introduced in May 1993 for the 1994 model year, the Chrysler LHS was the top of the line model for the division, as well as the most expensive of the Chrysler LH platform cars. All the LH-series models shared a 113.0-inch (2,870 mm) wheelbase and were developed using Chrysler's new computer drafting system.
The car was differentiated from the division's New Yorker sedan by its bucket leather seats (the New Yorker had a bench seat) and standard features such as alloy wheels that were options on the New Yorker. Further differences between the Chrysler LHS and its New Yorker counterpart were a floor console and shifter, five-passenger seating, lack of chrome trim, an upgraded interior, and a sportier image. From the 1996 model year on the New Yorker was dropped in favor of a six-passenger option on the LHS. The LHS received a minor face change in 1995 when the corporate-wide Pentastar emblem was replaced with the revived Chrysler brand emblem.
Standard features of the LHS included a 3.5 L EGE 24-valve 214 hp (160 kW; 217 PS) V6 engine, body-colored grille, side mirrors and trim, traction control, aluminum wheels, integrated fog lights, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, premium sound systems with amplifiers, and automatic temperature control. Unlike the New Yorker, leather seats were standard.

Is the Chrysler LHS reliable?
The Chrysler LHS is a very reliable, comfort, and powerful vehicle.
What does LHS mean on a Chrysler?
Edit. The Chrysler LHS was introduced in 1994, a year after the Concorde on a stretched LH body (the "LHS" name comes from LH-Stretched). The LHS was introduced alongside the latest (and last) car to utilize the New Yorker nameplate.

INTREPID, CONCORDE ETC. AND THIS DOESN'T INCLUDE CARS THAT PEOPLE HAD FIXED AND OR, CARS NO LONGER IN SERVICE WHO'S OWNERS ARE NOT AWARE THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY. WHY ARE ALL OF THE OTHER YEAR AND MODEL CARS FROM 1998 TO PRESENT BEING RECALLED, EXCEPT FOR THE 2001 LHS??? WHY IS CHRYSLER CHARGING 3X'S AS MUCH MORE FOR THIS CLOCK SPRING AS COMPARED TO ALL THE OTHERS THAT ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL. THERE CAN'T BE THAT MUCH DIFFERENCE!!! MAYBE I SHOULD GO ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND LAUNCH MY OWN CAMPAIGN TO SEE HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE AND ARE NOT AWARE OF THIS PROCESS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ME SINCE 2012. CONTACTED CHRYSLER NUMEROUS TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE! *TR

This is our second LHS. We bought it 7 years ago as the second owner with 64k miles on it. We've loved it ever since! We've only ever done routine maintenance until we hit 215k when we had a noise from the differential. We had the tranny and differential rebuilt (it's one unit) and she's been running strong to this day. She's at 226k and showing no signs of giving up. Our friends always want to take our car because it's so comfortable. She always has plenty of power and is fun to drive. We average 24 to 25 mpg between in town and highway which isn't bad for such a large car! It's very sad they don't still make them! :)

I've owned my 1997 LHS for 3 years now and I absolutely love it! The car has been garage kept by a 78 year old gentleman and has only 59,000 miles on it, making it feel like a brand new car. Although I've had a few fixes over the last year, such as a bad tie-rod and a transmission line leak, overall regular maintenance will keep this car on the road for little money. As someone who values comfort, I am extremely pleased with this roomy ride. Out of the 20 or so cars (new and used) I've owned, this has got to be the best vehicle I've ever had!

Bought used in 1996 with 19,000 miles on it. Replaced all components of the AC and had a new torque converter installed at 200,000 miles. Currently needs complete suspension overhaul but I can't bear to part with it. I commute over 100 miles a day. The security of the large vehicle, the stability and comfort of the ride have prevented me from seeking a replacement. I would rather spend $1,500-$2,0000 dollars a year in maintenance than than pay $35,000 for a new econobox that barely offers the same amenities I have in this vehicle.

What a great car! I bought it used in 2001 and it has been a reliable companion ever since. The only issue I had, besides routine maintenance, was with the driver's side power window motor. However, I was able to easily fix it by purchasing a new motor from NAPA for only 65.00 and spending just 45 minutes changing it. I have been consistently getting between 22 and 30mpg, with an average of 28mpg on the highway and 23mpg in town, even during long trips across New York. With almost 110,000 miles on it, the car still runs and looks like new. I was able to get 50,000 miles out of the first 2 sets of tires, which is impressive. I have not had to go back to the selling dealer for anything since I bought the car, which is a testament to its reliability. In fact, it has been a much better car than either of my Honda Accords were.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my car that I purchased back in 2000. It has been a great driving companion for me, and even after 5 years, it still looks great! The sound system is good and the seats are comfortable, making for a pleasant driving experience. However, I have had some trouble with the tires due to slow leaks caused by the wheels. I have to put air in the tires almost as frequently as I put gas in the car. I have also had to replace the tires prematurely due to wear and tear. Additionally, the front bumper is peeling and the finish/paint is looking a little faded on the entire vehicle. I upgraded to Michelin's last time, but unfortunately, they are getting chewed up. Overall, I still love my car and I hope this information helps you in your decision-making process!

Hi there! We noticed that there are a few things that need attention on your vehicle, including the air 2-hood shield, 2-headlight seal, window motors, 3-trunk release, clock, door trim, door panels, dash split, wheel well rust, door locks, transmission lines, horns, and heater/ac controls. Additionally, we noticed that all lights are flashing on/off while moving or parked. We'd be happy to take a look and help you get everything sorted out!

I really like this car! I've owned many Chrysler/Dodges from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s, and currently, I own a '60 Dodge Charger R/T. The LHS is great, although I did have to replace the transmission at 142,000 miles, but that's after 10 years of use. It has plenty of power for passing on the freeway and overtaking those little toy cars like Hondas. The ride is smooth, although it can be noisy and bumpy on bad roads. It almost feels like a sports car and handles high-speed corners better than my Charger R/T. Unfortunately, the gas mileage has been poor for me, averaging about 16-20 miles per gallon. However, I do live in Seattle, where there are nothing but hills. Despite this, I love it! There's so much room, although my only complaint about the interior is that there's no spot to put my cell phone.

Although the car has some positive aspects such as a good ride and sound system, it has unfortunately experienced multiple mechanical issues including transmission failure at 47,000 and 83,000 miles, compressor failure three times, rack and pinion failure at 92,000 miles, and various leaks. Additionally, the cost of repairs at Chrysler dealerships, with the exception of most Florida dealers, is often unreasonably high.
