2015 Chrysler 300c problems
The Chrysler 300 is a full-size car manufactured and marketed by Stellantis North America and its predecessor companies as a four-door sedan and station wagon in its first generation (model years 2005–2010) and solely as a four-door sedan in its second generation (model years 2011–2023).
The second generation 300 was marketed as the Chrysler 300C in the United Kingdom and Ireland and as the Lancia Thema in the remainder of Europe.
Background
The Chrysler 300 continues a tradition of large front engine, rear-wheel drive V8-powered luxury sedans the company has offered, starting in the 1940s with the Chrysler Saratoga and Chrysler New Yorker, followed by the Chrysler Windsor, Chrysler Newport and the Chrysler Cordoba, with the last rear wheel drive sedan, the Chrysler Fifth Avenue that ended production in 1989.
When the company began operations in 1925, the Chrysler Six was entered as a roadster in the 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans where it finished the race, and in 1926, the Chrysler Imperial started the tradition of luxury and performance products. Starting in 1955, the Imperial became its own luxury brand and offered the Imperial Newport along with the Imperial Crown. The original Chrysler FirePower Hemi engine powered the Cunningham C-5R, a special racecar, and finished the 1952 Le Mans, 1953 Le Mans, and 1954 Le Mans endurance races, as well as the 1953 12 Hours of Sebring.

BUT, IS IT????? NOT EVEN THE DEALER KNOWS. WHEN ASKED TO CONTACT THE REGIONAL SERVICE REP WITH CHRYSLER, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AGREED, BUT HAD NO IDEA WHEN HE OR SHE COULD BE REACHED. FOUR SERVICE REQUESTS; A POSSIBLE SOLUTION WHICH MAY WORK LONG TERM AND MAY NOT. WHAT NOW??? AND, I HAVE A 2018 JEEP CHEROKEE WHICH MAY DEVELOP THE SAME PROBLEMS. UGH!

- Crash: 1
- VIN: 2C3CCASGXFH
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: I ARRIVED HOME AND WENT INTO THE HOUSE AND MY FIANC FOLLOWED ABOUT 30 SECONDS LATER. I LEFT THE CAR RUNNING AS I INTENDED TO GO OUT FOR A SHORT TRIP AFTER DROPPING HER OFF. WE WERE BOTH ON OUR DECK SAYING GOODBYE WHEN WE SAW MY CAR START MOVING BACKWARDS, THIS WAS ABOUT 60 SECONDS AFTER SHE HAD LEFT THE CAR. I ASSUMED IT WAS BEING STOLEN AS IT WAS RUNNING, SO I RAN OUT TO TRY TO STOP IT. I FOUND THE CAR HAD BARKED INTO A FENCE ACROSS THE ALLEY AND HAD STOPPED. THERE WAS NO DRIVER IN THE CAR WHEN IT MOVED. I MOVED THE CAR BACK AND BEGAN INVESTIGATION AS TO WHAT HAPPENED. THE FINDINGS WERE AS FOLLOWS 1. THE CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN IT WAS PARKED BUT LEFT RUNNING 2. THE DISPLAY THAT SHOWS BACK UP CAMERA WHEN IN REVERSE WAS NOT ACTIVATED AT ANY TIME WE WERE IN CAR. 3. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT APPLIED ALLOWING THE CAR TO MOVE. 4. TRYING TO RECREATE THE INCIDENT IT WAS FOUND THAT IF THE CAR IS IN REVERSE AS SOON AS THE FOOT BRAKE IS RELEASED THE CAR STARTS TO MOVE IMMEDIATELY. 5. I TRIED TO RECREATED BY DRIVING AROUND THE BLOCK AND LEAVE IT IN REVERSE, AGAIN AS SOON AS THE BRAKE IS RELEASED THE CAR MOVES IMMEDIATELY. THIS WAS DUPLICATED 10 TIMES TO SHOW CONSISTENCY. 6. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT FOR ABOUT 45-60 SECONDS WITH NO OCCUPANTS PRIOR TO IT MOVING. I CHECKED WITH THE DEALER AND BECAUSE IT WAS INTERMITTENT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ADDRESS IT. I CALLED CHRYSLER CANADA AND THEY GAVE ME A FILE NUMBER 31926065 AND STATED THAT UNLESS THEY COULD DUPLICATE THE CONDITION THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND I SHOULD CALL BACK WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I EXPRESSED CONCERNS FOR OTHERS THAT MAY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AS I OFTEN HAVE CHILDREN IN THE BACK ALLEY PLAYING.
