- Summary: My 2007 Suburban has extensive rust that has left the frame open and crumbling. It appears that the seals on the vehicle did not do their job. The spare tire cannot hold under it. I have never taken it into salt water nor has it had flood damage. Its main years on the road were in CT and NJ. I have never seen a vehicle with this amount of crumbling rust. I have to drive 2 hours each way to see my specialists at Shands Hospital in Gainesville every 2 - 3 months and as a female it does concern me that there is that lifter clicking as well as the oil disappears and yet there's no puddle. Also, the lighting in the cabin ac area doesn't function as well as the rear controls. In Florida my last two problems deal with my problem with heat. The a/c runs intermittently and sometimes only blows very hot air. Also, what a big reason I purchased a Tahoe LTZ and this vehicle was because of the remote start which is not working. Is there anything that can be done. I needed a safe vehicle for my short regular trips and I've become worried and I have already had to rent a vehicle to make the trip out of fear of the cabin getting so hot. With Narcolepsy I can fall asleep without warning. Please advise. I'd love to keep the truck but not if it could mean injuring someone else or myself. Thanks in advance.

Additionally, the contact noticed that there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was taken to Triple A service station, where the cause of the failure could not be determined; however, unknown plugs and wire were replaced. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where flour coil packs were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that intake lifter of cylinder #1 was not moving due to a collapsed lifter roller, which lead to oil built up on the oil pan and the rear main seal. The dealer determined that engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 185,000.

Trunk well put together. Tight and quiet. Fuel mileage is as expected for mountainous region,16.8mpg. Radio volume is a bit weak when trying to crack up to a good XM radio song. Overall, I am very content with this vehicle. BTW, I moved from a Diesel Excursion to this 'Burban'.

Vast improvement over '06s. It was definitely worth the wait. Although MPG is a bit of an issue, it's still close to EPA results (14/18) with 4WD. Overall, this is a fantastic vehicle to drive. Chevy has really hit a home run with this one. It's just a shame that gas prices are currently at $3.25.

Other reviews have already said it all about the improved fit and finish and the great design. It's a huge improvement over previous Suburbans and previous GM vehicles I've owned. I've driven a 1960 Pontiac Bonneville (about the same weight) and a 1999 Suburban. The Bonneville ranged from 9 to 12 mpg and the 99 Suburban got 11 to 13. To get the higher mileage, I had to drive in a style that had the little old man in a hat behind me irate! The 2007 gets 13.5 mpg accelerating faster than most people away from lights. This isn't 1 fuel economy like others have rated it. Comparing it to a Prius or Metro is NUTS! Let's compare apples to apples. On the freeway, I get 17 - 20. It needs the 2010 6 speed.

It sounds like you've had a few issues with it since then, but I'm glad to hear that the dealer was able to fix the battery problem early on. It's also great to hear that you love your LTZ despite the occasional issues. I think it's really cool that you put a cold-air intake on it and were able to boost your mileage. Plus, it sounds like it's super comfortable and rides like a dream! Your friends must love going on trips with you in it. Thanks for sharing your experience with me!

My 2007 Chevy Suburban has had some issues, such as a creaking driver's door, a cracked dashboard, and a battery that dies frequently. While I do wish it had better gas mileage, I have found that I can still get decent mileage even with frequent use. Despite some blown-out speakers, which I have had to replace twice, I still love my Suburban and find it to be a reliable and enjoyable vehicle.

The oil consumption issue with my 2007 Suburban was resolved by replacing all 8 pistons and ring sets, along with new head gaskets and intake/exhaust. The engine was rebuilt at 88M miles under warranty. Although the transmission required a rebuild at 112M miles, it was not covered under warranty. Despite these setbacks, I am confident in the quality of my Suburban and am committed to paying it off.

This is a really nice truck! It's unfortunate that the value of the vehicle depreciates so quickly. My MSRP was $56,000, but it's now worth only $27,000 on trade, less than half of what I paid for it just a year and a half ago. I wish I had bought a Lexus instead. With the amount of money I've lost on this truck, I could have easily afforded a Lexus. I wonder why American cars lose their value so much faster than imports. The leather feels more like pleather than a soft material, which is a bit disappointing. It's unfortunate that the Big 3 needed a bailout, but I still believe in American-made vehicles. However, if you're considering buying this truck, be prepared for a significant hit on resale value.

I really like the look of my Suburban with the z71 package and it drives smoothly. I haven't had any major issues in the 2 years I've owned it, except for the tires wearing out quickly. I replaced them with Michelins and now it's much better. Although I do wish that the Suburban was designed more for carrying people than as a truck. The interior feels more like a minivan or a good times van, which can be a bit embarrassing. It seems like the demand for captain chairs in the middle has made it more like a van. It took me a while to find one with a bench in the middle and back, but even then, the middle bench doesn't fold completely flat, leaving the floor wells. However, the third row seats are flat and spacious.

The ride is great, but if you're looking for a smoother experience, it's best not to exceed 70mph. The steering may feel a bit off, but a good tire balance should do the trick. After 500 miles, new tires were put on and had to be force balanced to get them within specs. Unfortunately, I feel like I got a lemon. Long red lights can be a bit frustrating, and at idle, it may feel like it's missing a plug wire. Overall, it's not the best experience, but there are ways to improve it.
