Acura Tl 2005 problems
The Acura TL is a car that was manufactured by Acura, the luxury division of Honda. It was introduced in 1995 to replace the Acura Vigor and was badged for the Japanese-market from 1996 to 2000 as the Honda Inspire and from 1996 to 2004 as the Honda Saber. The TL was Acura's best-selling model until it was outsold by the MDX in 2007. In 2005, it ranked as the second best-selling luxury sedan in the United States behind the BMW 3 Series, but sales decreased after the 2008 model year. Four generations of the Acura TL were produced, with the final fourth generation TL premiering in 2008 as a 2009 model and ending production in 2014, when it was replaced together with the TSX by the TLX.
First generation (UA1–UA3; 1996–1998)
The TL "Touring Luxury" debuted as 1996 model, first with the 1996 2.5 TL available with the 2.5 L 176 hp (131 kW) SOHC 20-valve 5-cylinder engine from the Vigor. The 3.2 TL used the 3.2 L 200 hp (149 kW) SOHC 24v V6 from the second generation Acura Legend. The model with the 2.0-liter inline-five was not offered in the US market. The debut of the TL signaled Acura's shift from traditional vehicle names to alphanumeric designations. By replacing recognizable names such as Vigor and Legend with a two-letter designation, the luxury maker hoped to focus consumer attention on the Acura name. The TL was the first Acura model to adopt the new naming scheme.
The 2.5 TL was positioned as the sporty model and the 3.2 focused more upon a luxurious ride. There were minimal styling differences between the two, but the 3.2 TL had larger tires despite the 2.5 TL's more sporty marketing. Moreover, the added power in the 3.2 TL gave it better acceleration. Both engines were mounted in a front-rear, or longitudinal position. This contrasted with the more typical transverse engine mount style, and was intended to provide better weight distribution and reduce nose dive. The engine mount design resulted in an elongated hood for the first generation TL, a shorter front overhang and longer wheelbase, fitting for a near-luxury car. The inline-5 engine in the 2.5 TL competed with similar 5-cylinder engines offered in Audi and Volvo models.
The first 1996 Acura TL was manufactured at Sayama, Japan on March 28, 1995. Sales of the 2.5 TL began in spring 1995, but the 3.2 TL was delayed until fall because of a U.S.-Japan trade dispute. The U.S. government had threatened to impose 100% tariffs on higher-priced Japanese cars in response a growing U.S.-Japan trade deficit. Ultimately a deal was reached which avoided the tariffs.
The first generation Acura TL had standard features including dual airbags, antilock brakes, automatic climate control, a cassette/CD player sound system, and power windows and locks. Leather was standard on the more upscale 3.2 TL, while the 2.5 TL featured a firmer suspension setup. Like its predecessor, the Vigor, this generation TL was a 4-door pillared hardtop, with frameless windows.

Common Acura Tl 2005 problems
The 2005 Acura TL, a luxury sedan produced by Honda's premium brand, is known for its performance and reliability. However, as with any vehicle, it can develop certain issues over time. Here are some of the most common problems reported by owners of the 2005 Acura TL:
- Front Lower Control Arm Bushings: The front lower control arm bushings, which are made of rubber, can deteriorate over time, causing abnormal tire wear and clunking noises when going over bumps. This issue can be identified by inspecting the bushings for signs of wear or separation .
- Front and Rear Shocks: Worn-out shocks can cause the vehicle to bounce more than normal when going over bumps. If fluid is leaking from the shocks, they will need to be replaced .
- EGR Valve: A faulty EGR valve can cause rough idling, rough running conditions, extended crank times when starting the vehicle, and the check engine light to come on. Replacing the EGR valve is a relatively simple process that involves disconnecting the connector, removing two nuts, and replacing the gasket .
- Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve: The IAC valve, which controls the idle speed of the engine, can fail over time. This can result in a rough idle, stalling, or the check engine light coming on. Replacing the IAC valve involves disconnecting the connector, removing the old valve, and installing a new one .
- Rattles: Some 2005 Acura TL owners have reported various rattles in their vehicles, which can be caused by a variety of factors, including loose interior panels, worn-out suspension components, or even hard bass from subwoofers. These rattles can be difficult to diagnose and may require a thorough inspection of the vehicle.
- Hands-Free Link (HFL) Unit: The HFL unit, which enables hands-free phone calls and audio streaming, can fail over time. Replacing the unit can be expensive, with dealers charging up to $600 for the part. However, some owners have found cheaper alternatives by purchasing the upper map light assembly without the map light module from a wrecked TL.
- Leather Wear: The leather on the 2005 Acura TL can wear faster than expected, especially on high-mileage vehicles. Regular conditioning and cleaning can help prolong the life of the leather.
- Dashboard Cracks: Some 2005 Acura TL owners have reported cracks forming on their vehicle's dashboard, particularly around the passenger side airbag. These cracks can not only be unsightly but can also potentially disable the airbag. This issue is not limited to the 2005 model year and has been reported on some 2004 and 2005 Acura TL sedans as well.
- Battery Drain: Some 2005 Acura TL owners have reported issues with battery drain, which can be caused by electronic devices drawing power even when turned off. Disconnecting the faulty part usually fixes the problem.
- Power Steering Hose and Windshield Wiper Motor Recalls: The 2005 Acura TL is subject to recalls for power steering hose and windshield wiper motor issues. These recalls should be addressed as soon as possible to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicle.
- Transmission Flush: Some 2005 Acura TL owners have reported improved transmission performance after having a transmission flush performed as recommended by Acura. This can help address any internal transmission issues and improve overall performance and longevity.
- Rack and Pinion: The rack and pinion is a common problem in high-mileage 2005 Acura TLs. This can result in steering issues and should be addressed as soon as possible.
- Fuel System Issues: Some 2005 Acura TL owners have reported fuel system issues, including the need for 91 Premium gas and potential premature engine failure if the previous owners did not follow this guideline. This can be caused by pre-ignition, which wears out the crankshaft bearings and carbonizes the oil control rings, leading to oil consumption and decreased engine life.
In summary, the 2005 Acura TL is a reliable and dependable vehicle, but like any car, it can develop certain issues over time. Common problems reported by owners include transmission issues, front lower control arm bushings, front and rear shocks, EGR valve, idle air control valve, rattles, hands-free link unit, leather wear, dashboard cracks, battery drain, power steering hose and windshield wiper motor recalls, transmission flush, rack and pinion, and fuel system issues. Regular maintenance and addressing these issues as they arise can help ensure the longevity and reliability of the 2005 Acura TL.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2005-05-20
- VIN: 19UUA66255A
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: In both 2012 and 2014 I complained to Acura CS and was told that they wouldnt do anything for me when their hands free unit refered to in TSB 08-057 This was causing a parasitic power leak draining the battery overnight. After researching the cause online and the solution which was to remove the defective HFL unit which was done. Yesterday I came across that TSB and contacted Acura with my correspondence from 2012, 2014 and the TSB. So far I'm getting the run around. I just want a replacement module for the one that I have kept as a reminder of how I was screwed by Acura. The TSB states all 2005 TL's are affected yet today they had the gaul to say it was no longer in warranty. This is a critical safety item in that it provides hands free utilization of the cellular phone. This came defective from the factory in that I was never able to either connect to the garage door opener or to the phone and was extremely angered by the dealer insisting that I just didnt know what I was doing. I perform surgery in peoples mouths for a living and build and program computers and networks on the side. I know that this module with part number 1135133c1m3m04 or 3qc32dc2 on 2 stickers on back of the circuit board are defective. The TSB only lists what is on the plastic cover to the module and not the module itself. Please verify that these modules are in fact garbage.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-01-23
- VIN: 19UUA662X5A
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: There are cracks forming on the dashboard of my 2005 Acura TL that I have researched and found are chronic issues in the 2004-2008 TL, and might compromise the ability of the airbag to deploy properly (either prematurely or not at all when expected to imnan accident). I've watched my dashboard go from having 1 crack 5-10 years ago to forming 2 more recently (for a total of 3) and have concerns after researching this as a common defect for the 2004-2008 generation of TL, and yet Acura has not had a recall to fix this completely free of charge to the vehicle owner with no time limitation on when this can be honored. http://www.acuraproblems.com/cracked-dashboard/
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-10-05
- VIN: 19UUA66205A
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: Transmission locked up while attempting to backup. Very loud grinding noise. Could not place back in park. Had to shut off engine to free shifter to move back to park. Tried again but this time placed in drive. Exact same results. Checked internet and apparently transmission on this year and others before and after are know problems. Googleand you will see this. POSSIBLE CATASTROPHIC INCIDENT - What would have been the end result having the transmission fail while on the freeway going 60 mph. Possibly could loose control of the vehicle with wheels locking up, cashing into another vehicle or a wall? This should be investigated! THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO REMOVE COMPLAINT, BUT STATED THE DIAGNOSTIC REVEALED THE FRONT AXLE WAS BROKEN.
AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-08-15
- VIN: 19UUA66285A
- Components: AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: A crack has developed on the passenger side of the dash running directly over the location of the airbag located on the same side. This has not resulted in any failure or malfunction as of now, but it raises concerns over the potential given the location. If you research the internet, you will find a plethora of similar complaints and concerns from many other third generation (‘04-‘08) Acura TL owners dating back many years now. In spite of this, Acura/Honda has failed to offer any type of solution or even recognize it for the potential safety issue that it represents. To answer the questions you ask, I have not had it inspected by any dealer, mechanic or insurance representative at this time, nor have there been any warning lights appearing. However, common sense tells me that there is the “ potential “ for a problem given the nature of the crack and its location. Acura/Honda needs to step up and acknowledge and address this issue!!
AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2012-07-07
- VIN: 19uua65535a
- Components: AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: It happened years ago - the passenger side dash cracked. Now there are more cracks and I am reading that this could pose a risk if the passenger side airbag deployed. I’ve always thought it was a manufacturing flaw for the dashboard to crack in the first place but never did or said anything about it before. Now I am concerned about the safety of my passengers.
STRUCTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-06-12
- VIN: 19UUA66285A
- Components: STRUCTURE
- Summary: The dash has developed a crack on the passenger side right over the area where the front passenger side airbag is located. This could possibly create a problem in the proper deployment of that air bag. Apparently, this is a common problem with this generation (3rd- '04 to '08) Acura TL. There are many similar complaints by owners posted online going back many years now about this very problem, yet Acura/Honda has apparently never addressed it. They apparently seem content to consider it a cosmetic problem only as several posters/owners have mentioned, rather than addressing the potential safety issue regarding proper airbag deployment. From the numerous reports of other owners found online, it would seem logical to presume that this is a result from a manufacturers defect or design flaw that Acura seems to want to ignore.
AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2017-05-14
- VIN: 19UUA66235A
- Components: AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: CRACKING DASH BOARD. DOUBTFUL THAT THERE ISN'T A TAKATA AIRBAG AT THE ROOT OF IT THAT ACURA IS NOT INCLUDING WITH THE OTHER YEARS OF THAT RECALL. SUSPECT DANGERS IF BAG GETS DEPLOYED AS DASH WOULD FRAGMENT OUT IN EXPULSION.
AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM

- Date Of Incident: 2019-06-12
- VIN: 19UUA66225A
- Components: STRUCTURE
- Summary: TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 ACURA TL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH OR THAT THE AIR BAGS MAY INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY WITHOUT THE VEHICLE BEING INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE MANUFACTURER NOR A DEALER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 206,786.
AIR BAGS,STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-08-20
- VIN: 19UUA66225A
- Components: AIR BAGS,STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: DATE: 08/27/2020 MY 2005 ACURA TL HAS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. THE PASSENGER DASH HAS CRACKED ON BOTH SIDES OF WHERE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED SLOWLY OVER THE COURSE OF ABOUT A YEAR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. AS OF A WEEK AGO, THE RED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT GOES ON AND STAYS ON (BY THE SPEEDOMETER) WHEN A PASSENGER SITS IN THE FRONT SEAT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF ACURA TL OWNERS THAT HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CRACKING AND MANY HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE NHTSA AND HAVE CONTACTED ACURA. EVEN THOUGH ALL OF THE OTHER ACURA TL MODEL YEARS THROUGH 2014 WERE PART OF THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL, FOR SOME REASON THE 3RD GENERATION ACURA TL MODEL YEARS 2004 - 2008 HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED DUE TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG ISSUE. I HAVE READ THAT IT MAY BE DUE TO ACURA NEEDING TO REMOVE THE DASH IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS, AND THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO INCUR THE EXPENSE OF REPLACING THE ENTIRE DASH. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL ACURA TL OWNERS, REPLACING THE DASH COSTS BETWEEN $1,000 - $2,000 (FOR THE OWNER) AND DOESN'T TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE SAFETY ISSUE REGARDING HAVING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DAMAGED DUE TO THE CRACKS IN THE DASH AND HUMIDITY GETTING IN. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CRACKS COULD AFFECT DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, OR CAUSE IT TO DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSE INJURY TO THE PASSENGER OR THE DRIVER. ACCORDING TO MANY POSTS I HAVE SEEN ONLINE, THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 5 YEARS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS SAFETY HAZARD AND NOTIFY ACURA. ACURA NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS WIDESPREAD SAFETY ISSUE.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS,STRUCTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-07-17
- VIN: 19UUA66275A
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS,STRUCTURE
- Summary: MY BATTERY WOULD BE DEAD IF I DIDN'T DRIVE MY CAR EVERY DAY. THEN I FOUND OUT THERE IS A PARASITIC DRAIN ON THE BATTERY FROM A FAULTY HANDS-FREE BLUETOOTH MODULE. I WATCHED A VIDEO THEN DISCONNECTED MINE MYSELF, PROBLEM SOLVED. I'VE USED A HEADLIGHT RESTORATION KIT BECAUSE THE LIGHTS ARE YELLOW AND THEY HAVE SPIDER-CRACKS ALL IN THEM, IT REALLY AFFECTS THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE LIGHT ITSELF. THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED BEYOND REPAIR AND I'M TERRIFIED OF GETTING INTO A WRECK IN MY CAR, THE DASH WOULD BECOME SHRAPNEL!

- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING,AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: 2005 ACURA TL- PARKED WINTERS, GARAGED, BABIED AND ALL SERVICE COMPLETED AT THE ACURA DEALERSHIPS. CAR HAS 141,000 ON IT AND WAS NEAR 50,000 WHEN PURCHASED (ASPEC PACKAGE ETC). CAR HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD FROM THE WINDSHIELD TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, ACROSS THE CENTER SPEAKER AND NOW DIRECTLY ON THE INDENTATION WHERE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. REACHED OUT TO ACURA FOR ASSISTANCE ((ATTACHED)) AND THEY SAID THE CAR IS TOO OLD AND OUTSIDE WARRANTY TO HELP ME. IRREGARDLESS OF THE FACT I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN IT TO ACURA AND ONE LOOK AT THE CARS EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR *PAINT AND LEATHER INTERIOR* SHOWS THAT THIS CAR HAS BEEN SPOILED. THE DASHBOARD IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS GENERATION AND EVEN MADE THE NEWS FROM COMPLAINTS. I AM NOW CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY OR CAUSE HARM DUE TO THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE DASHBOARD BEING ALTERED DUE TO SHODDY CRAFTSMANSHIP THAT IS NOT BEING BACKED UP BY ACURA. I HAVE ALSO RAISED CONCERN THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ARE BOTH CRACKING AND DISCOLORED. I HAVE HAD THEM PROFESSIONALLY *REFURBISHED* BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED AS THEY TOO ARE A SAFETY ISSUE NOT ALLOWING PROPER LIGHT TO BE ILLUMINATED ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO MANUFACTURE DEFECT- AGAIN -- CAR PARKED WINTERS, JUST LOOK AT THE PAINT AND QUALITY OF THE CAR THAT IS 15 YEARS OLD.*DT*JB *TR
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-05-07
- VIN: 19UUA66215A
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS
- Summary: THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT ACCIDENT RELATED BUT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED.MY CAR BATTERY KEPT DRAINING. I REPLACED THE BATTERY JUST UNDER A YEAR AGO AND IT KEPT HAPPENING UNLESS I DROVE THE CAR EVERY DAY. FINALLY TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED. THE BLUETOOTH DEVICE UP IN THE HEADLINER WAS SHORTED OUT. GOT THAT FIXED BUT FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST ACURA FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM. IT'S BEEN ONGOING FOR 5 YEARS! THE AIRBAG ISSUE HAS TO TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED, HORRIBLY, EVEN THOUGH MY CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED AND PROTECTED FROM THE SUN MOST OF THE TIME SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN 2011. IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT, THERE WILL BE MAJOR SHRAPNEL FROM THE DASHBOARD DAMAGE THAT WILL CAUSE EVEN GREATER INJURY. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY ACURA IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THE FAULTY DASHBOARD MATERIALS.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 7 recalls for different components of the Acura Tl 2005.
- Manufacturer: Dorman Products, Inc.
- Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
- Summary: Dorman Products, Inc. (Dorman) is recalling certain Accelerator Pedal Assemblies part numbers 699-114 and 825-5029-1, sold as replacement parts for 2003-2006 Acura MDX, 2004-2008 Acura TL and TSX, 2003-2007 Honda Accord, 2005-2006 Honda CR-V, 2007-2011 Honda Element, 2005-2008 Honda Pilot and 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline vehicles. The rotating portion of the accelerator pedal assembly may bind. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 124, "Accelerator Control Systems."
- Consequence: If the accelerator pedal binds, the engine may not quickly return to idle after the pedal is no longer pressed, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dorman will notify owners, and qualified service facilities will replace the affected accelerator pedal assemblies, free of charge. The recall began December 9, 2019. Owners may contact Dorman customer service at 1-800-523-2492, using option 5. Dorman's number for this recall is AS1019XXXX.

It's great to hear that you've always been a fan of Hondas and were finally able to get your hands on a TL! Your '05 model sounds like a fantastic choice with its sleek appearance, powerful performance, comfortable ride, and reliable nature. It's impressive that you've been able to put so many miles on it already, especially with your long commute. While city driving may not be as fuel-efficient, it's still great to hear that you're averaging around 25-26 mpg overall. Thanks for sharing your positive experience with us!

The Acura TL is one of the best sport sedans in the 30-40k price range. As someone from the Midwest with only one car, I needed a vehicle that could handle snowy conditions, so I opted for the TL. I couldn't be happier with my choice. The acceleration is smooth and the car remains stable even at high speeds. The TL also boasts a great sound system and excellent interior amenities. Additionally, the fuel economy is exceptional, with some highway trips yielding up to 33 mpg. The only downside is that the 2009 TL doesn't look as stylish as the 2008 TypeS, or else I would have gone for the newer model.

I'm still very happy with my purchase after 6 months. The car is stunning both inside and out, and it's packed with useful gadgets. The performance is strong, and I haven't experienced any mechanical issues with the car. While there are a few things that I would like to see improved, such as the turning radius and the small rattles, I still believe that this car is a great value. I would love to see an MP3 jack and an 8-way passenger seat added, and the Navi disclaimer could use a permanent bypass. Overall, I think this is a good car that offers great value for money.

I researched a lot of vehicles and test drove the Lexus GS 300 and BMW 3 Series. While the 3 Series offered more low-end torque, the Acura TL was the complete package. It is roomier, has high-quality design, and outstanding performance with 270 horsepower and a boatload of standard features. I love this car and you will not be disappointed with it. The luxurious feel, responsive transmission, and sport wheels and tire package make it a real head-turner. Additionally, it comes standard with Hands-Free Link to auto-connect with your Bluetooth phone. Overall, the Acura TL is an excellent choice!

I had an 02 Acura RSX before and I must say the build quality was much better. However, this one has some rattles and some fit and finish issues. On the bright side, it has great looks, an impressive interior design, and a great value. It also has a fast speed and a good mpg of 32 on the freeway and 22 in the city.

I bought my 05 TL in 2016 with 105k miles because my 1996 pickup has no AC and I live in FL. I figured a Honda product for $180 a month was a no brainer. The V-Tec motor is solid with smooth acceleration and really decent power for a 6 cylinder. The sound system is top quality for sure. Although, the 'leather' is hard and stiff, there are no rips in any of the seats at now 130k which is a plus. The car gives mixed signals as it has a hard/stiff, low ride like you're in a sports car but none of the response. The car fights me in corners at speed and neither of the sets of quality sports tires I've tried will keep this thing holding its line. However, the engine is still solid and probably will be for some time to come. I haven't had to service the transmission, and if I drove like a normal person some of my complaints would be irrelevant. But I'm either in a truck or a race car, period lol. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable car with great acceleration.

If you are thinking about buying one of these vehicles, I would suggest looking elsewhere. The build quality, especially the interior components, is very poor, resulting in many squeaks and rattles that are not typical of Honda. Additionally, I have had trouble keeping tires on the car, having gone through three sets in just 40,000 miles. While this version may be sportier than its predecessor, the ride quality is harsh and the car sits too low to the ground. As a loyal Acura/Honda owner, I regret to say that I cannot recommend this car.

Acura should be called 'DAEWOO' as this car has performed so badly Acura is buying the lemon back! The electrical system was just the start. However, I would like to suggest that you might have better luck with HYUNDAI. At least they still know how to build reliable cars. Maybe they are throwaways, but they have got reliability down now!
