Origin of the name
The name of "Cadillac's first small car" was selected over a revival of LaSalle or the GM design staff's preference, LaScala, primarily because, as noted by GM Marketing Director Gordon Horsburgh, "It had no negatives." The initial suggestion was "Leland" in honor of one of the make's founders but it was rejected because most buyers wouldn't understand the reference and Henry Leland had also founded rival Lincoln.
Hundreds of suggestions were considered: after extensive research, LaSalle was the top pick with St. Moritz a distant second, trailed further by Seville. A troubled past (LaSalle) and difficult pronunciation (St. Moritz) led to the eventual selection of the Seville nameplate.
Seville is the name of a Spanish province and its capital, renowned for its history and treasures of art and architecture. Cadillac had first used the nameplate for a two-door hardtop version of the 1956 Eldorado. 1960 was the last model year for the Eldorado Seville, returning in 1967 under a different name.

- Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
- Summary: ON CERTAIN CADILLAC DEVILLE AND SEVILLE PASSENGER VEHICLES, FUNERAL COACHES, AND LIMOUSINES EQUIPPED WITH A V8 (4.6L) ENGINE, OLDSMOBILE AURORA PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A V8 (4.0L ) ENGINE, AND PONTIAC BONNEVILLE SSEI PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A SUPERCHARGED V6 (3.8L) ENGINE, THE FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSORS ARE UNUSUALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO MALFUNCTIONS. IF THE SENSOR MALFUNCTIONS, EXCESSIVE VACUUM CAN BE APPLIED DURING SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TESTING.
- Consequence: FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS CAN BE DAMAGED AND FUEL CAN LEAK FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN IT IS REFUELED. FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON OCTOBER 17, 2003. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT CADILLAC AT 1-866-982-2339; OLDSMOBILE AT 1-800-630-6537; OR PONTIAC AT 1-800-620-7668.

Previously leased, this car has low miles and is in great condition. It's black with black leather and comes with chrome spoke wheels. It's a fine ride, very quick with 275hp, and gets 26mpg on the highway and 22 in town. It's a little smoother compared to the STS, which my 50-year-old rear appreciates! Overall, it's a real treat to look at and drive. :)

This car is amazing! It's so quiet, smooth, and handles like a sports car. The new Magnetic Ride suspension makes it corner like it's on rails, with no swaying in the turns. It's so quiet that you only hear the exhaust and don't realize how fast you're moving. The interior and front panel are beautiful. This car still gets lots of looks, unlike any Deville. It's truly a beautiful car that gives me a thrill that Lexus, Lincoln, and Audi didn't when driving.

A used Cadillac is an excellent value, especially if you opt for a certified used one. It's a blast to drive, with sharp looks and a smooth shift. Plus, it comes with lots of toys to play with!

The 2003 Cadillac Seville SLS is a fantastic luxury car that performs and handles exceptionally well. Its powerful V8 engine provides a smooth and delightful driving experience, while the controlled ride adds to the overall comfort. Driving this car is a special experience that makes you feel great. The exterior styling is impressive, especially when compared to the new STS, which lacks distinction. The interior ergonomics are excellent, and the design is great. The Seville SLS is a very comfortable car, making long trips a pleasure. Its size is perfect, not too big and not too small. In my opinion, this is Cadillac's best car ever, and it rides even better than a Lexus LS400.

This is my fourth Cadillac, second Seville. It's definitely the best car on the road! The car turns heads, which I absolutely love. The ride is comfortable yet road responsive - a true pleasure. I only had one repair about seven years ago, and Cadillac roadside service arrived in about half an hour and fixed the car on the spot - WOW! When you get dressed and go out, the car helps you feel special. Put the pedal to the metal and you can fly, both physically and emotionally. A car should do more than just travel; it should make you feel good. The Seville is all that and more!
