2000 Cadillac Escalade problems
The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by General Motors and marketed by their luxury division Cadillac. It was the luxury brand's first major entry into the SUV market. The Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to an influx of new luxury SUVs in the late 1990s such as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Range Rover, Lexus LX, and (especially) Ford's 1998 debut of the Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade project went into production only ten months after it was approved. The Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas. The term "escalade" refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers. More generally, it is a French word which is the noun-equivalent form of the French verb escalader, which means "to climb or scale".
The Escalade is currently sold in North America and select international markets (Europe and Asia) where Cadillac has official sales channels. The Escalade ESV (Escalade Stretch Vehicle) is sold in North America, Russia, and the Middle East, but is only available by special order in some international markets. The right-hand-drive Escalade and Escalade ESV are available through third-party conversion specialists without official agreement with Cadillac in Australian, Oceanic, and Japanese markets.
On August 8, 2023, GM unveiled the Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of the Escalade, and the third model in Cadillac's EV line, after the Celestiq, and Lyriq. It is expected to go on sale in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, with a starting price of $130,000.

Great vehicle! It has a lot of power. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient in the city, it truly shines on the highway.
-
I love these GM Era (1988-1998*) trucks! They are the best rigs out there. I feel really safe in mine, it tows my 6000 lbs. camper wonderfully, and it's an absolute tank in the snow. What sets these apart from same year Tahoes/Yukons is the front middle console layout and interior details, along with a Premium Bose Audio System, and from-factory locking 3.73 rear/front ends, and Heavy Duty Trans Cooler.

I am the second owner of my 1999 Cadillac Escalade. When I bought it, it had 53,000 miles on it and I paid $18,000 for it. It was a much cheaper option than buying a new one, and I got the Cadillac luxury for a Chevrolet Tahoe price. I absolutely love the heated seats, Boise stereo, security system, and Vortex engine. However, I do have one small complaint - who was the engineer that decided to put the oil filter horizontally above the 4 wheel drive transfer case? Every time I change the oil, it runs down my arm! Despite this, I have had no problems hauling 20 bags of cement or 25 cement blocks - the suspension is great. I did have to replace the front disc rotors and the front suspension rubber bumpers, but overall, this truck tows a 20' ski boat with no issues. When in 4WD, the front end can be a bit jumpy, but in 2WD, it provides a smooth ride. The tailgate can be a bit difficult for my wife to get down, but it's still better than the double doors. All in all, I would definitely buy a used one again...

This is the greatest SUV I have owned. I have had a Honda CRV, Blazer, Jeep, and BMW, but this one is the best. It has great power, unlike the others which were underpowered. It also cost less than others even without the options.
-
This vehicle is incredibly reliable, with 104k miles on it and still running like new. What's most impressive about this older generation SUV is how stable it is, even without stability control or other systems. Despite its size, it handles surprisingly well and has an outstanding turning radius. While it may lack some key features like auto climate control and a sunroof, it's still a great choice for anyone looking for a dependable ride.
