2005 Cadillac Escalade problems
The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by General Motors and marketed by their luxury division Cadillac. It was the luxury brand's first major entry into the SUV market. The Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to an influx of new luxury SUVs in the late 1990s such as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Range Rover, Lexus LX, and (especially) Ford's 1998 debut of the Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade project went into production only ten months after it was approved. The Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas. The term "escalade" refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers. More generally, it is a French word which is the noun-equivalent form of the French verb escalader, which means "to climb or scale".
The Escalade is currently sold in North America and select international markets (Europe and Asia) where Cadillac has official sales channels. The Escalade ESV (Escalade Stretch Vehicle) is sold in North America, Russia, and the Middle East, but is only available by special order in some international markets. The right-hand-drive Escalade and Escalade ESV are available through third-party conversion specialists without official agreement with Cadillac in Australian, Oceanic, and Japanese markets.
On August 8, 2023, GM unveiled the Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of the Escalade, and the third model in Cadillac's EV line, after the Celestiq, and Lyriq. It is expected to go on sale in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, with a starting price of $130,000.

If you're looking for a top-quality American SUV, then the 05 Escalade is the one for you! I've driven both domestic and foreign cars, but I won't let go of my 05 Escalade. Even though I can get a new 2017 model, I don't want to. This year and model are hard to find, and I have dealers calling me to sell it, but my answer is always no. I've driven it for over 150K miles, and knock on wood, I haven't had any major issues, just regular maintenance. If you can find one loaded like mine, you won't be disappointed. Go Cadillac!
-
This is a big truck and I love every inch of it! Cadillac really hit the mark with this body style. Once inside the cabin, you are treated to the same Cadillac comfort that I remember from my childhood. It definitely rules the road, and knowing that it is the 'most powerful SUV on the planet' only adds to the experience. I only hope that when GM changes the truck in '06 or '07, they don't ruin the appeal that this one has.
-
After all the vehicles I've owned, this is the best! :)
-
I have been driving Japanese SUVs for the past 6 years, including Acura and Lexus. Initially, I was hesitant about switching to a GMC SUV, but I am pleased with my decision. I have driven around 500 miles so far and the truck handles like a dream. It is as quiet as a car, easy to maneuver, and has impressive horsepower. I must admit, the Cadillac reputation is well-deserved. I am even considering purchasing their new convertible for my next car. It's definitely a hot choice!

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share some feedback about my 2005 Cadillac Escalade. I was a bit surprised to find that it doesn't have a power rear door to assist with opening and closing. Additionally, the low tire pressure warning lamp doesn't indicate which tire is low, which can be a bit inconvenient. On my previous vehicle, a 2002 Cadillac STS, I really appreciated this feature. Lastly, I was wondering if there are any plans to offer more interior color options? Thank you for your time and consideration!

The vehicle's suspension and handling have been a disappointing experience. Even small potholes can cause the vehicle to veer off the road. At just 23,000 miles, the transmission required a rebuild, and there have been consistent problems requiring multiple trips to the dealer. While the vehicle has impressive power, it is let down by poor handling and suspension. Overall, the vehicle may be overrated.

This truck is beautiful to look at. However, it has had a few annoying problems that shouldn't happen in a vehicle of this caliber. My truck has had blown sensors, problems with the Bose stereo, and the rear DVD system is not properly interfaced with the stereo system, making the radio blast when the DVD is turned off. Unfortunately, Cadillac has not been very responsive in fixing these issues. Additionally, I have had some difficulty getting loaner vehicles when my truck is in for service.
