2008 Kia Borrego problems
The Kia Mohave, marketed in North America and China as the Kia Borrego, is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) manufactured by the South Korean manufacturer Kia. The vehicle debuted in 2008 in the South Korean and U.S. markets. The Kia Borrego is named after the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in California; Borrego means "bighorned sheep" which can be found in the state park.
First generation (HM; 2008)
Production history
The production model, designed by automotive designer Peter Schreyer, former chief designer for Audi, was introduced at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. The vehicle was originally shown as a concept car under the Kia Mesa name at the 2005 North American International Auto Show and went on sale in Korea as the Mohave prior to its release in the United States. In the US, the Borrego went on hiatus for the 2010 model year, with no word on its return or cancellation, after lower than expected sales in 2009. Kia, however, still continued selling the Borrego in Canada, meaning the Borrego was a Canada-only nameplate from 2010–2011. Domestic versions of the Mohave do not wear any Kia badges, instead using a version of the Kia Opirus's logo, due to their status as Kia's flagship models.
As of October 28, 2011, the model was discontinued with the Sorento as a successor, except the Middle East, China, Central Asia, Brazil, Chile and Russia. It was later dropped from the Chinese and Brazilian markets.

The problem: An improperly attached headliner plate could detach during a crash in which the side airbags deploy. If this happens, it could injure vehicle occupants. The fix: Kia dealerships will secure the headliner plates free of charge. This recall affects nearly 23,000 Borrego SUVs from the 2009 model year because a metal part could detach and injure occupants if the side airbags deploy in a crash.
Brake Pedal Mounts
Kia is recalling certain model year 2009 Borrego vehicles, manufactured from May 2, 2008, through January 20, 2009, equipped with non-adjustable brake pedals. Certain pedal mounts may have a fiberglass composition that allows them to break off in a collision where the impact has not immobilized the vehicle, which would then allow the vehicle to roll. If this occurs, the driver would need to stop the vehicle with the parking brake or experience a possible second impact, increasing the risk of personal injury. Kia will notify owners, and dealers will replace the brake pedal mount, free of charge. The recall will begin during June 2012.

I KEEP PUTTING IT BACK UP BUT AFTER A WHILE IT WILL FALL AGAIN. ALSO THE SWING BAR UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT, THAT ALLOWS THE SEAT TO MOVE UP, DOWN, BACK, AND FRONTWARDS KEEPS COMING LOOSE. THERE IS A BOLT THAT SCREWS IN THE BRACKET ON THE BAR AND WHEN IT COMES OUT THE SEATS FALLS TO ITS LOWEST POSITION AND THE MOTORIZED SEAT MOVEMENT WILL MOVE BUT AND ALLOW THE AHEAD TO BE RAISED BUT WILL FALL AS SOON AS YOU SIT ON IT OR EVEN IF ADJUSTED WHILE DRIVING IT WILL FALL. BOTH OF THESE ARE SCARY TO HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND COULD CAUSE A PERSON TO LOOSE CONTROL IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING.

- Summary: ON THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT THE ROCKER PIECE THAT ALLOWS THE SEAT TO MOVE UP AND DOWN AND FRONT TO BACK. THE PIN IN IT KEEPS COMING LOSE. ALSO THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR HAS STARTED TO FALL FROM ITS HOLDER AND HANG FROM THE WIRE FOR THE MIRROR LIGHT. I FEEL THAT BOTH ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE AN PROBLEM DRIVING.
