On August 8, 2023, GM unveiled the Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of the Escalade, and the third model in Cadillac's EV line, after the Celestiq, and Lyriq. It is expected to go on sale in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, with a starting price of $130,000.

I BEGAN LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE NOISE WAS SO LOUD, AND STARTELING THAT I THOUGHT SOMEONE STRUCK MY DRIVERS SIDE. I AM LEFT SIDE - HEARING IMPAIRED, MY WHOLE LEFT SIDE WENT NUMB AND BEGAN TO RING PIERCINGLY. I GAINED CONTROL BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO EXIT THE TRUCK. I WAS ENGULFED IN CHEMICALS AND COULDN'T SEE. I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR AND COULDN'T AS THE AIRBAG BLOCKED MY EXIT, AND / OR ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW. WHEN THE AIRBAG BEGAN TO DEFLATE I WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. I WAS FORTUNATE MY SON AND HUSBAND WERE BEHIND ME AS WE DROVE HOME. THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS HAPPENING AS I JUMPED OUT OF MY TRUCK WITH A WHITE CLOUD OF FUMES BEHIND ME. I NOW FEEL AS THOUGH MY EAR HAS BEEN STABBED AND MY NOSE/THROAT ARE BURNING. *TR

THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.

THE INBOARD RETENTION NUT USED TO MAINTAIN HUB BEARING ASSEMBLY CAN LOOSEN RESULTING IN AN ABS LIGHT INDICATION, NOISE, AND/OR WHEEL SEPARATION.
- Consequence: WHEEL SEPARATION CAN RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

(TO SEE THE SCHOOL BUS ENGINE SIZES, CLICK ON "DOCUMENT SEARCH" AND THEN "BUS APPLICATIONS"). THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL FILTER WAS NOT MANUFACTURED TO HONEYWELL'S SPECIFICATION. As a first-time SUV owner, I was initially skeptical about whether I would enjoy this truck. However, after 13 months of trouble-free driving, I must say that Cadillac has really hit the mark! While the mileage hasn't been great (12-13.5 city, best of 17.3 highway), this is to be expected from a vehicle with 345 HP and weighing 5700 LBS. The ride and handling for a vehicle of this size is truly remarkable. Additionally, Cadillac uses a leather that maintains its 'LEATHER' smell, which is a nice touch. If you've never experienced a Cadillac before, the Escalade is an excellent place to start.

I have owned several SUVs, but I always come back to driving my Vette. I just traded my Expedition for the AWD Escalade, and I think I have found something close to what I really have in mind. It was really fun to drive, and I believe it could be a real hit if GM does it right. If your other car is a Vette, this is the perfect family car for you. And if you're single and you drive it around, you might even start a family shortly!

The 2002 Cadillac Escalade is a large SUV that can be a bit challenging to handle. However, it has comfortable seats that can easily accommodate up to 6 people. While the steering can be a bit difficult due to its small turning radius, the vehicle's large mirrors and thin B and C pillars provide better visibility than other cars. Although parking can be a bit tricky due to its size, the Escalade's suspension can be improved with proper maintenance. Additionally, the audio system is decent, but the center climate control may rattle if the bass is too high. It's worth noting that repairs can be a bit pricey due to the Escalade's luxury status, but it's a small price to pay for the added comfort and style.

Although undoubtedly a beautiful vehicle, it is concerning that it has been in the shop seven times in just seven months, with a range of issues including a problem with the rear end. The most serious issue is that it will not start, and each time it is a supposedly different problem. As it stands, it is not a dependable vehicle. I have had to resort to using other vehicles for travel, as I cannot be sure when it will stop running. I have contacted Bill Lang Cad today and am awaiting their response with interest.
