- Summary: For approx. the past 6 months, the radio has been cutting out several times during my daily commute. On occasion, a message would appear saying Stabilitrack is off. Saturday, it cut out and stayed off for more than 30 minutes and did it several more times. Everytime the radio cuts out, the door locks started locking and unlocking on their own, the air conditioning, cooled front seats, and defrost turns on and the seats the airbag off light came on, and a warning message saying service stability system came on, plus the engine was revving without power and I was worried I was going to lose all electrical and control, so I pulled off the We have ran several diagnostic but found no error code messages and nothing wrong with the vehicle. When I was talking to them, the system was acting normally. I have taken the car to the dealership and my local family mechanic shop. We have paid extensively to change the grounding wire, battery, cables, fuses and other grounding components to resolve this issue. It is very dangerous and has caused my family to jerk and sometimes be hit in the process. It has died on the highway and creates an extreme possibility for accident to others, if this continues to occur. I typically would not reach out in this manner and I would just replace the vehicle, but through further research, others have also had this problem, reported it on the Cadillac forum and we have not been added to the previous electrical recall or gotten resolutions. This is my last resort before this becomes a fatality for some owner.

WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALER AFTER THEY TOOK OUR APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG THEN THEY KEPT THE CAR ALL DAY TO GET A CALL THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE AIRBAG THEREFORE THEY CAN'T TURN THE AIRBAG LIGHT OFF EITHER. WE REALLY NEED TO SELL THIS CAR AS WE HAVE A HIGH PAYMENT & WE NEED TO REDUCE OUR MONTHLY PAYMENTS. THIS IS HARD TO DO WHEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. MY HUSBAND HAD BEEN DEALING WITH MANY MANY PEOPLE, SUPERVISORS, GM ETC & NOBODY SEEMS TO WANT TO HELP. (INTERESTING THAT MY BROTHER HAS THE SAME RECALL ON HIS LINCOLN & HE'S IN A RENTAL CAR). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator with an alternate one, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on February 23, 2021. Second notification letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 20, 2021. - Consequence: IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE HEATED WASHER MODULE TO IGNITE AND A FIRE MAY OCCUR.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL PERMANENTLY DISABLE AND REMOVE THE HEATED WASHER FLUID MODULE. AN UPDATED PAGE FOR THE OWNER MANUAL WILL BE PROVIDED AND INSERTED IN THE OWNER MANUAL TO DOCUMENT THAT THE FEATURE HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY DISABLED AND REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE. After 9 years and 140,000 miles, we still love our EXT! It's the perfect vehicle for long road trips. The only downsides are that it can be a bit tricky to park in tight spots and the gas mileage isn't as high as we'd like, at 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. However, given the size of the vehicle, we find these numbers to be perfectly acceptable. We also opted for the bed slide, which has been an outstanding addition that makes accessing the bed storage area a breeze!

The new Cadillac Escalade EXT is a fantastic upgrade over the '06 model. The styling, engine, and cabin have all been improved, making it one of the most impressive vehicles on the road!

This is my fourth EXT and by far the best. It rides like a luxury car not a truck. After 20,000 miles it still rides like I just purchased it. Plaudits to Cadillac on this one.

I am delighted to own this American vehicle, having driven it for over 5,000 miles in a wide range of weather conditions, terrain, and road conditions. The price I paid for it was below invoice, and I also received 0%/5yr financing and a business tax deduction. Although I traded it for a '08 Toyota Tundra (which was also a great vehicle), I found that this vehicle compared favorably in terms of comfort, ride, performance, handling, and economy. However, considering its $15k higher list price, I believe it could have been better with more modern features such as adaptive cruise and lane departure warnings.

I purchased a 2008 Cadillac 26 months ago, but unfortunately it has not lived up to my expectations. I have owned 4 Avalanches in the past (2002, 2003, 2005, 2007) and have enjoyed them all, but this Cadillac has been a disappointment. While it performs well in the winter, it struggles in the Texas heat. Despite taking it to the dealership multiple times, including having the owner of the dealership test drive it for a week, GM has refused to fix the shifting issue when the A/C is on. They even tried to intimidate me into accepting the problem or trading it in at a loss. As a loyal customer who has purchased several Cadillacs from this dealership, I am disappointed that GM is aware of the issue with the shifting and throttle body, yet has not taken action to resolve it. When I press the pedal to the floor, the truck jumps into first gear and then locks up when I apply the brakes.
