2003 Cadillac Cts problems
The Cadillac CTS is a luxury car, manufactured and marketed by General Motors from 2003 until 2019 across three generations.
Initially available as a 4-door sedan on the GM Sigma platform, GM had offered the second generation CTS in three body styles: 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, and 5-door sport wagon also using the Sigma platform — and the third generation was offered only as a sedan, using a stretched version of the GM Alpha platform. High performance sedan variants were offered for each generation, as the CTS-V — with wagon and coupe variants offered for the second generation.
Wayne Cherry and Kip Wasenko designed the exterior of the first generation CTS, marking the production debut of a design language marketed as "Art and Science," first used on the Evoq concept car. John Manoogian III directed the second generation CTS design. Bob Boniface and Robin Krieg designed the exterior of the third generation CTS.
The CTS ended production in 2019 and was replaced by the CT5, which shared its platform with the third and final generation of the CTS in addition to the smaller CT4.

2003 Cadillac Cts recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the 2003 Cadillac Cts.
- Manufacturer: General Motors LLC
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
- Summary: This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) notified the agency on July 2, 2014 that they are recalling 554,328 model year 2003-2014 Cadillac CTS vehicles manufactured August 16, 2001, to April 28, 2014, and 2004-2006 Cadillac SRX vehicles manufactured March 20, 2003, to August 11, 2006. In these models, the weight on the key ring and/or road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
- Consequence: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 15, 2014. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 14172.

- Consequence: THE BRAKE HOSE-TUBE INTERFACE MAY RUPTURE SUDDENLY WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING AND INCREASE VEHICLE STOPPING DISTANCE MAY OCCUR INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Negative 2003 Cadillac Cts car reviews
Positive 2003 Cadillac Cts car reviews
-
The CTS is the first car heralding Cadillac's new direction. It looks great and I've received compliments from people of all ages. It feels fast, and it certainly is, although it could use a little more power. The car corners with a lot of confidence, which is impressive for a large car. While the comfort is alright, I must admit that the Volvo it replaced seemed to be easier to get into. Additionally, it is not quite up to par with its stablemates (STS and DTS, which I have driven) which are very plush. The interior has been criticized for its plastic looks and I must agree, although the actual material is much nicer than regular interior plastic. It has a very nice feel that you must see and feel for yourself.

This car has been excellent! I bought it used and the performance has been really exciting. I don't have any negative issues to report - the car is great!

I really love this car and I'm considering replacing it with a newer CTS model.

I love my car, but unfortunately, there has been an issue with an extreme howling noise since the first time I drove it above 60 MPH. The noise seems to be coming from either the sunroof or somewhere across the dashboard. Despite several test drives, including with a hearing-challenged mechanic, a new differential was installed with no luck. The noise sounds like a cross between a worn bearing or a strong wind across some metal vanes. It gets progressively louder when the outside winds are anywhere from 15 to 20 MPH or my vehicle speed reaches 60 mph and above. It's quite unbearable whenever I take a trip on the road, and I have to turn the music up in order to drown out the sound. It's unfortunate that mechanics are not always able to troubleshoot every issue, but I'm hopeful that a solution can be found soon.

This car is incredibly comfortable for its price point. I've been driving it for two years now, since purchasing it used at 40k miles, and it still feels smooth and handles well at high speeds. The seats, stereo, and handling are all top-notch. Even when I accidentally messed up the seat heaters with some kids' toys, the dealer fixed it under warranty without any hassle. Plus, I'm getting around 30mpg when I keep it at 55mph and 25mpg at 75mph. Overall, I'm really happy with this car!

My parents bought this car when it first came out, and now, 10 years later, it's mine. As a senior in high school, I've been driving it for a while now. While it has had some issues, it still runs well. Unfortunately, the A/C and heat haven't worked for almost a year, and the engine has a weird low idle sensor that needs to be replaced. If you're considering buying this car, I would recommend getting a good warranty for it. The check engine light and check airbag light have been on since we got it, but overall, it's been a reliable car.

About 5 months after I bought my Sports Luxury CTS, it has been in the shop for quite some time. Although I still own it today (2010), I am quite disappointed with the experience. If I had known this beforehand, I would have reconsidered my decision to purchase this car.

The car dealership was really nice! It was open and fun, with lots of great cars. I think my car is the best - it's fast, quiet, and a great ride. I absolutely love it! Plus, with my radar detector, Smokey can't catch me. Overall, I give this dealership a three-star rating - it's definitely worth checking out!

Although the engine runs smoothly, I have experienced several issues with my Caddilac CTS. The airbag light has been flashing, the plastic cupholder molding has cracked, and the passenger side glove compartment hinges have broken. These issues have required multiple trips to the shop, which has been frustrating. In the future, I hope that GM can improve the build quality of their vehicles. Additionally, I would prefer a more powerful engine, such as a V8. Overall, I have been disappointed with my experience and will be looking for a different car next month.

Although the car's appearance and handling are impressive, it has been in the shop for numerous repairs including the timing belt, radiator, transmission work, and water pump. The frequent repairs have been a significant inconvenience.
