2014 Bmw X6 problems
The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV by German automaker BMW. The BMW X6 is the originator of the sports activity coupé (SAC), referencing its sloping rear roof design. It combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and all-weather ability, large wheels and tires) with the stance of a coupé (styling featuring a sloping roof). It is built in BMW's North American plant in Greer, South Carolina alongside the BMW X5, whose platform it shares. Prior to the release of the X7, the X6 was considered a flagship SUV for BMW.
The first generation (E71) was released for sale in April 2008 for the 2008 model year, while the second-generation X6 (F16) was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 2014. The third-generation X6 was revealed in July 2019.
BMW Concept X6 (2007)
The concept model debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show and the production X6 officially debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and Montreal International Auto Show. While slightly longer and wider than the X5, it is significantly lower and seated initially only four, and since 2011, optionally five.

Common 2014 Bmw X6 problems
The BMW X6, produced in 2014, is known for several common problems that have been reported by its owners. These issues range from electrical gremlins to mechanical faults and cosmetic concerns. Here are some of the most frequently reported problems with the BMW X6 2014:
- Isofix Mounting Points: There have been reports of one of the Isofix mounting points breaking loose on X6 models manufactured between March 2014 and April 2019. This is particularly concerning for those planning to fit a child seat. It is recommended to check if your X6 is affected by this recall, especially if you intend to use a child seat.
- Electrical Gremlins: Owners of the BMW X6 2014 have reported various electrical issues, including problems with starting, battery life, air-conditioning, satellite navigation, and electrical warning lights. While these issues are not exclusive to the 2014 model, they are worth noting, as they may require professional attention.
- Tailgate Spoiler: The tailgate spoiler on the BMW X6 2014 may wobble or vibrate excessively when driving, potentially leading to it coming off entirely. This issue is caused by an incorrectly bonded rear spoiler, which tends to loosen on the top edge of the tailgate on the right-hand side where it meets the rear of the roof.
- Swirl Flap: On diesel-engined BMW X6 models, the swirl flap is prone to breaking. If this part breaks, it can allow metal debris into the engine, potentially causing serious damage, including the need for a new engine. Regularly checking for oil leaks around the intake manifold is recommended to detect this issue early.
- Handbrake Actuator: Some X6 owners have experienced difficulty releasing the handbrake due to a software failure in the handbrake actuator. This issue can be resolved with a software update, which should be performed by a professional.
- Rattling Noise from Doors: A rattling noise coming from the doors when driving is caused by poor fitment of the door cards. This issue can be resolved by adjusting the door cards to ensure they are fitted correctly, which should eliminate the rattling noise.
These common problems with the BMW X6 2014 are based on complaints from owners and should be taken into consideration when purchasing, owning, or maintaining this vehicle. Regular inspections and timely repairs can help ensure a safer and more enjoyable driving experience.

Hey there! Why not take one for a spin?

The crossover is absolutely amazing! I recently purchased it and it's just like a spaceship - perfect! Don't pay attention to negative reviews about the space in the back or poor rear visibility, there is actually plenty of space in the back. I'm 6'2'' and have more than enough space. The visibility is great and the interior design is just perfect. The exterior is unforgettable and it handles like a beast. If you're considering buying it, I highly recommend it!

I'm so glad to hear that you purchased the 2011 X6, loaded with every option available. It sounds like you're really enjoying your first BMW, and I'm sure it won't be your last. The car sounds like it's an absolute blast to drive, and the turbo V6 has all the power you'll ever need, especially with the 8 speed transmission. Although there is slight turbo lag from a dead stop rapid acceleration, the car still sounds like it's a lot of fun to drive. The interior sounds classy, refined, and very comfortable on long drives. It's great to hear that you're getting about 17 mpg around town in every day driving, and on the high way, you averaged about 26 mpg on a recent 250 mile trip (not bad for a big vehicle and AWD). I completely agree that the premium sound system is a must-have, and it sounds like it provides unbelievable sound.

I can tell you, I really love this car! It's even better than my X-5. I didn't necessarily need the wagon, but I wanted a car with a bit more size. And let me tell you, it's an absolute joy to drive!

Drinks a lot of gas but that's okay, I can deal with it.

Nothing compares. A fantastic driving experience. This car is truly the ultimate driving machine. Picked up the BMW i50 X6 and have been totally satisfied. Traded in a 2011 Porsche Cayenne S! No comparison this time the BMW IS better than the Porsche (Couldn't say that about my 911 vs M5). You will be happy with your decision if you purchase one of these.

Driving this vehicle can be quite stressful due to the constant pulling, which requires a firm grip on the steering wheel at all times. Unfortunately, my experience with this brand new vehicle from Braman Motors in West Palm Beach has been disappointing. Despite multiple visits to the service center and several different service advisors, the issue has not been resolved. I have also had some concerns with the accuracy of their paperwork. As someone who has owned four previous BMWs, I can say that this has been a unique and challenging experience. I would advise anyone considering this vehicle to proceed with caution, as the luxury experience may not be what it once was.

Today, I went shopping for a new car to replace my 2009 Mercedes Benz SL550. As someone who has always driven sports cars, I love the style, handling, and thrills they offer. While I adore my SL, I can only drive it for 2/3 of the year due to living on the side of a mountain with snow. During the summer, I enjoy taking it on road trips, but luggage space is always an issue, and my wife dislikes highway driving in it. She always says things like, 'Slow down!', 'Don't pass that truck!', 'We're too low to the road!', and so on. I'm sure you've heard it before. Every review I've read about the X6 complains about how impractical it is, how it lacks purpose and focus. They just don't understand, do they?...continued

During my test ride, my salesman took me on a freshly paved highway and secondary road, which I found quite pleasing. However, I did notice a downside to this car only after driving off the lot onto a less than perfect road. The ride quality on minor road imperfections was quite unpleasant, and it felt like being hurled around the cabin like a rag doll. As a result, I found myself seeking out the smoothest routes to avoid this discomfort. It seems that BMW engineers may have prioritized the X6's performance over other driving aspects that are expected in a luxury vehicle ride, SUV or otherwise. Therefore, unless you only drive on freshly paved, perfectly smooth road surfaces, you may regret buying this vehicle.
