2015 Ford F-450 sd problems
The Ford Super Duty (also known as the Ford F-Series Super Duty) is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.
Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb (3,900 kg), Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option.
Ford also offers a medium-duty version of the F-Series (F-650 and F-750), which is sometimes branded as the Super Duty, but is another chassis variant. The Super Duty pickup truck also served as the basis for the Ford Excursion full-sized SUV.
The Super Duty trucks and chassis-cabs are assembled at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and at Ohio Assembly in Avon Lake, Ohio. Prior to 2016, medium-duty trucks were assembled in Mexico under the Blue Diamond Truck joint venture with Navistar International.

Common 2015 Ford F-450 sd problems
The 2015 Ford F-450 Super Duty is a powerful and capable heavy-duty truck, but like any vehicle, it has its share of common problems reported by owners. Here are some of the most frequently mentioned issues:
- Structure: Body: Door - Ford issued a recall for certain 2015-2017 F-150 and 2017 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles that had been equipped with a chrome exterior door handle cover accessory kit purchased from a Ford dealer. These accessory door handle covers may cause the doors to unlatch in a side impact collision, failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206. Ford will remove the accessory covers and refund the purchase price for affected vehicles.
- Back Over Prevention: Sensing System: Camera - A recall was issued for certain 2017-2020 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and 2017-2020 Lincoln Continental vehicles equipped with the 360-degree camera system. Degradation of the camera's anti-reflective lens coating can lead to a foggy or cloudy rearview camera image, which may not provide a clear view of the area behind the vehicle. Dealers will replace the rearview camera free of charge for affected vehicles.
- Powertrain: Driveline: Driveshaft - Ford issued a recall for certain 2017-2018 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 4x4 vehicles due to the potential for a radial damper inside the driveshaft to move out of position over time. This movement can cause a driveshaft imbalance and result in a fracture. Dealers will replace the driveshaft free of charge for affected vehicles.
- Fuel System, Diesel - Ford issued a recall for certain 2017 Ford F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, and F-550 SD trucks due to the potential for the protective shield on the fuel conditioning module to have inadequate adhesion. This issue could allow the shield to become dislodged, potentially causing damage to the fuel conditioning module. Ford will replace the protective shield free of charge for affected vehicles.
- Air Bags: Frontal: Driver Clockspring / Spiral Cassette - Ford issued a recall for certain 2015-2022 Ford F-450 vehicles due to the potential for the clockspring in the driver-side airbag system to become damaged. This issue could cause the airbag to deploy improperly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Ford will replace the clockspring free of charge for affected vehicles.
- Exhaust Muffler, Pipes, Catalytic Converter, Exhaust Manifold, Heat Shields, Leaks - Owners of 2017 Ford F-250 vehicles have reported issues with exhaust components, including cracked intercooler pipes, faulty catalytic converters, and front coil springs popping off their pedestals. These issues can lead to leaks, reduced performance, and increased risk of accidents.
While these issues may be concerning, it's important to note that not all 2015 Ford F-450 Super Duty vehicles will experience these problems. If you own one of these vehicles and are experiencing any of these issues, it's recommended to contact your local Ford dealership or authorized service center for assistance.
