2014 Nissan Cube problems

The Nissan Cube is a mini MPV produced by carmaker Nissan between 1998 and 2019. Initially sold only in Japan, the Cube was sold in North American markets from 2009 to 2014, and in European markets from 2009 to 2011. In Japan, it was exclusive to Nissan Red Stage dealerships. It is a slightly larger load-carrying alternative to the Nissan Micra hatchback. While production for the North American market ended in 2014, the Japanese-market Cube lasted until December 2019.
First generation (Z10; 1998)
The first-generation Cube was introduced in 1998. It shared the same platform as the Nissan Micra (known as the March in Japan and Southeast Asia), as well as the same 1.3 L inline-four engine. A continuously variable transmission and four-wheel drive were optional. The Cube covered the gap in the Nissan lineup between the March and the Sunny.
Second generation (Z11; 2002)
The second-generation Cube was released in 2002 with a larger interior than the previous model. The combination of angled and curved surfaces was based on the third-generation Micra/March, powered by a 1.4 L I4 engine. The model included the "e4WD" system as an option, which transfers power to the rear wheels when the front wheels spin via a small electric motor on the rear underside of the floor. The electrically powered system allows for reduced drivetrain drag in FWD mode. A slightly longer three row model, the Cube Cubic (stylized as Cube³) went on sale in September 2003.
When equipped with a CVT, the steering wheel button controls and the sport wheel button on the dash panel are located next to the hazard flasher switch. In mid-2005, the cube had an optional upgrade with the new HR-series 1.5 L engine from the Nissan Tiida.
All Cube models have optional extras including an Ion filter (Air Ioniser) for cleaning the air and Nissan's 'smart key' which allows the driver to enter the car without having to use a key. Other options include a sunroof, 12 different styles of front grille and satellite navigation. Other specific models also have different styles of bodykits and fender flares. They come with optional 14 or 15 inch wheels and the Autech versions (Rider, Cube3 and GT models) with chrome styling and special seat covering.
The second-generation Cube was imported and sold in Malaysia by Mitsuoka as the M-Box and later the MPV. This model was different from other Mitsuoka models in that it had no major differences to the original car, and simply had a different grille and a couple of other exterior parts. The M-Box and MPV were exclusive to Malaysia.

Common 2014 Nissan Cube problems
The Nissan Cube, produced from 2009 to 2014, is known for its distinctive design and unique features. However, like any other vehicle, it has its share of common problems. Here are some of the most frequently reported issues by Nissan Cube owners, based on the search results:
- Headrest Comfort: Several 2011 Nissan Cube owners have reported issues with their headrests. Most of them complained that the headrest was tilted, which pushed their head in an uncomfortable position. This often left them with neck pain, especially after long trips in their Cube.
- HVAC System Problems: According to many owners of the 2010 Nissan Cube, problems with the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system are common for this model year. Some of them have complained that their heater emitted grinding noises when the defroster is pressed, while others have reported that not all of their heater's vents were blowing warm air. There's no shortage of aftermarket HVAC parts like A/C compressors and fans available on the market, so you're sure to find what you need if you encounter these issues.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-07-11
- VIN: JN8AZ2KR1ET
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: ABS light came on, I checked on the internet to see what the problem might be and came up with a number of reasons, the last being have it checked ASAP. Took the car to my repair shop to have it checked. Found code C1116 stop lamp circuit was the problem, which I had fixed. When I picked up the car, I was told that getting the part wasn't difficult because it was a common problem. They also told me that my brake lights wouldn't work because of the circuit problem. In my opinion, this is a safety concern; if your brake lights aren't working how can anyone behind you know your intention to slow down or stop . What's more, how am I to know that my rear brake lights are not working? I'm in the cabin driving and unless I am alerted by another driver behind me, what am I to do?

POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-03-22
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: AFTER COMING TO A STOP (OR NEAR STOP) FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MY 2014 NISSAN CUBE DOES NOT RESPOND TO DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. I WOULD PRESS THE GAS TO THE FLOOR AND IT BARELY MOVED. IT WAS EXTREMELY SLOW, LIKE THE ENGINE WOULD NOT GO ABOVE IDLE. AFTER 5-20 SECONDS IT WOULD FINALLY ACCELERATE. A COUPLE OF TIMES I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON A LIMITED ACCESS RURAL HIGHWAY. THE LIGHT AHEAD HAD TURNED RED AND I DECELERATED TO AN ALMOST STOP BEFORE THE LIGHT CHANGED TO GREEN. OF COURSE, I IMMEDIATELY LET OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. THE CAR DIDN'T RESPOND AND THE TRAFFIC FROM BEHIND WAS CLOSING AT NEAR HIGHWAY SPEED. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO SWERVE OFF OF THE ROAD ONTO THE SHOULDER AS THE OVERTAKING TRAFFIC BARRELLED PAST ME. ONE PARTICULARLY SCARY TIME I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE WITH GUARD RAIL ON THE LEFT AS WE WERE APPROACHING A BRIDGE; THE NO RESPONSE EVENT REPEATED ITSELF, BUT I WAS UNABLE TO EXIT THE ROADWAY TO THE LEFT. I KEPT THE PEDAL DOWN AND PRAYED NO ONE WOULD HIT ME. KARMA WAS WATCHING OVER ME AS THE CARS COMING FROM BEHIND REALIZED JUST IN TIME THAT I WAS BARELY MOVING AND SWERVED TO MISS ME. A COUPLE OF THE CARS NARROWLY MISSED HITTING ME; THERE WAS A LOT OF SQUEALING TIRES AND BLARING HORNS. LUCKILY FOR ME, I WAS WEARING DARK-COLORED UNDERWEAR'.. IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN AS THE CAR ACCUMULATES MILEAGE. I NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN, SO NOW I TRY TO BE IN THE RIGHT LANE FOR UPCOMING STOPS, BUT SOMETIMES YOU ARE CAUGHT OFF GUARD FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT CHANGE. THIS IS VERY SCARY. CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED.

This is my second Nissan Cube. It's such a quirky car that it always gets compliments and jokes from strangers for its appearance. It looks like a child's drawing of a car, which is part of its charm. The best thing about it is that it's the most comfortable car I've ever driven. The seats are high up and solid, and there's plenty of legroom in the rear seat. Even though I have a bad back, I've driven this car from New Mexico to Washington State and back with no medical issues. It's easy to get into and out of, especially with my back problems. There's an amazing amount of headroom, which my friends over 6'6The car may look like a toy, but it is packed with serious car details and accessories. In fact, it's my adult toy car! I have been driving this car for two years now and it has been a joy to drive. I have taken it on some long trips, including a very large loop through Zion National Park, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City. This car handles well and can keep up with traffic. It may not be a muscle car or a truck, but it is a practical car that reminds me how much fun driving can be. It is perfect for running errands around town and has plenty of room for groceries and other shopping. It also holds its own on the open road. Although it may not win any prizes for speed, it has gotten me everywhere I want to go. I am disappointed that Nissan is no longer importing this car to the States. However, I have heard that there is an AWD and an electric version available in Japan, which would be ideal here in Northern New Mexico. I have been driving this car for three and a half years now and my review remains the same. Other than an occasional long trip, I don't drive that much. The car's mileage has recently improved a bit and it has held up well in the desert sun. The white pearl paint still looks great and the interior has held up well too. It is nimble to drive and has a small turning radius. It suits my needs perfectly and I hope to keep it for a long time. Now in its fourth year, I am commuting to work daily with a mix of surface streets and freeway. This little underpowered wonder gets me wherever I need to go and has only needed standard maintenance so far. It's holding up very well and still turns heads in Albuquerque. Maybe it's because it looks like a miniature ice-cream or milk truck. Whatever the reason, it's easy to find in a parking lot!The interior has held up very well and looks almost like new. The seats remain comfortable, even during long drives. Unfortunately, I'm not so fortunate when I'm a passenger in friends' cars and we go for long drives. Then, my back is fairly stressed and I'm in some pain. However, I have to say that I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I have no idea what Nissan did with these seats, but they should be the ones used in all their cars.

I purchased my Nissan Cube from Lee's Summit Nissan in June 2010 and have been enjoying it ever since. Recently, you have won me over as a lifetime customer! Living in Kansas City, we've had two major winter storms recently, with the latest being a blizzard that dumped over 12

Cube is a unique car with a spacious interior, comfortable seats, and cool features. It's hard to describe the Cube, but once you experience it, you'll love it. I recently got mine and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. I traded in my Mini Cooper convertible, which had a rough ride, and I'm now getting over 32 miles per gallon. The hatchback and drop-down rear seat make storage a breeze. The Cube is a winner and being square has never been cooler!

When I first saw the cube, I thought it looked a little odd, like a shoebox. However, once you step inside, the design is amazing, and the interior is surprisingly spacious. I was initially hesitant to get a brand new car as my first car, but with this car, I have no regrets. It's short, so it's easy to park, and u-turns are a breeze. Additionally, it has excellent visibility, making it an excellent choice for a new driver like me. The safety features are also a great bonus. I highly recommend this car to anyone who wants an eye-catching car that's fun to drive.

I bought my 2011 Cube in Red, used, when it was about 11 months old, with about 16k miles, for about $14k total. I traded in my 2007 PT Cruiser for the Cube. I absolutely love the look, interior, and headliner! Although I did not get the extras such as 20 color lights, Rockford stereo, better seats, and better ac/heat dial (which I wish I had), it is still a great car! The ride is a bit bumpy (like a truck), and you need to hold the wheel at all times (as it can be shaky and flimsy), BUT after a few months of driving, I was doing about 50 on the interstate and could not avoid a 12-foot piece of wooden fencing. To my surprise, I went right over it without ANY damage or problems! I am a big fan of Nissan, and even though my PT was a much better car, I would definitely buy another Cube!!!!

After owning my car for 5.5 years, I had a bit of a setback when the CVT tranny was ground into pieces at 35,000 miles. However, I must say that NISSAN CORP. treated me very well and I have had no issues before or after that incident. Now at 42,000 miles, I have rekindled my friendship with my car. I always had a crush on it for the first 5 years, and I still do. The circular patterns in the cabin are great and it has as much visual personality as I do. Although I am only 4ft. 10 in., the vision is one of the best. The car rides well in town, getting 26 miles per gallon, and 30 miles per gallon on the highway. The only issue I have is that it rides a bit scary on the highway when driving 70-90 mph in higher winds. I am now entering the second stage of my relationship with my cube, and I am hopeful that it will live up to my expectations of longevity. I believe the car holds its resale value pretty well, as the BOX CAR Cult is alive and growing! I have heard it called 'a grocery hauler,' which is a pretty ample description. Although it lags on hills, it is used to Houston flatlands. I am 62.5/f and only average about 3500 miles per year, so I am looking to invest in the best warranty I can get to guarantee the longevity I crave, now that I have no payments and only liability on a fixed income. Overall, I am very happy with my car and I hope to continue driving it for the rest of my Texas Hill Country Driving Life! With all the complaints I have about my car, I often ask myself, 'What do I like about it that makes it the longest car I have ever owned?' I bought it new, so any dents or lack of maintenance are on me. I know where it has been, and there is no water damage. Most importantly, it starts every morning and gets me where I need to be. I appreciate its reliability, but I am also aware of its issues. If it continues to slip around, it could cause problems for me and my cube. However, I am a hard taskmaster and expect a lot for my money. I am not planning on parting with it anytime soon!
