2007 Nissan Altima hybrid problems

The Nissan Altima is a mid-size car manufactured by Nissan since 1992. It is a continuation of the Nissan Bluebird line, which began in 1955.
The Altima has historically been larger, more powerful, and more luxurious than the Nissan Sentra but less so than the Nissan Maxima. The first through fourth-generation cars were manufactured exclusively in the United States and officially sold in North and South America, along with the Middle East and Australia. For other markets, Nissan sold a related mid-size sedan called the Nissan Teana which was between the Altima and Maxima in terms of size. In 2013, the Teana became a rebadged version of the fifth-generation Altima.
The name "Altima" was originally applied to a top trim line of the Nissan Leopard for the Japanese market in 1986, and then to the Nissan Laurel mid-size car sold in Central America and the Caribbean before 1992. In 1992, Nissan discontinued the Stanza which was a Nissan Bluebird clone, replacing it with the US-built Altima, while remaining a compact car. The first Altima was produced in June 1992, as a 1993 model. All Altima models for the North American market were built in Smyrna, Tennessee, until June 2004, when Nissan's Canton, Mississippi plant also began producing the model to meet high demand.

Your car is great! It consistently returns 32+ mpg/600+ miles on a tank, has good pickup, and is very comfortable. It's the perfect size and quite roomy in the front seats at least. Although dealer service has been more expensive than it was for the Hondas, Toyotas, and Mazdas that you've owned previously, after 18 months and 33k miles, it's still a good value and you still like it.

Firstly, I must say that I test drove many cars, even those in a class above the Altima, but I kept coming back to this car. After much deliberation between the performance of the V6 and the sensibility of the hybrid, I finally chose the latter. Although it may not be as powerful as the V6, this car still has plenty of spunk and is fun to drive. I live in San Diego and drive 50/50 city/highway. According to the on-board message center, I am getting 38 mpg, but based on my mileage and the gallons I am putting in, it is more like 32. However, I must admit that I have had some issues with the car. I have had it for 2 months and have driven 2900 miles, but it has been in the shop for over 20 days as of now and is still there.

I was thrilled to write a review since I feel like I've stumbled onto a great secret.. however, good work deserves to be recognized. This car drives and feels like a luxury sedan. I purchased the technology package which increased the MSRP but I still feel it's well worth the price. I am surprised I haven't seen more reviews or people talking about this car online. I always wanted a Hybrid, but wasn't a big fan of the Prius' or Civic's design. For me, the Altima had the whole package.

I bought my car used in 2010 and I'm still driving it in 2020, with about 100,000 miles on it. I'm happy to say that it has much better pick up than I would have expected, and to this day it still has good power. I've had no major issues with it, even though I haven't taken it in for regular maintenance. The only issue I've had in the last few years is that an emissions part went out, but I was able to fix it myself for only $90. About 7 years ago, I had to pay to get something fixed at the dealer (I can't remember what it was) for about $300. I'm still a bit concerned that the hybrid battery will go out and be expensive to replace, but so far it's still running strong. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this car and would highly recommend it. Also, it still looks modern and people can't believe it's a 2007!

Great combination of power, economy, and style for a very reasonable price. Very quiet comfortable ride! Just put almost 1000 miles in less than 2 weeks!
