2007 Nissan Altima hybrid problems

The Nissan Altima is a mid-size car manufactured by Nissan since 1992. It is a continuation of the Nissan Bluebird line, which began in 1955.

The Altima has historically been larger, more powerful, and more luxurious than the Nissan Sentra but less so than the Nissan Maxima. The first through fourth-generation cars were manufactured exclusively in the United States and officially sold in North and South America, along with the Middle East and Australia. For other markets, Nissan sold a related mid-size sedan called the Nissan Teana which was between the Altima and Maxima in terms of size. In 2013, the Teana became a rebadged version of the fifth-generation Altima.

The name "Altima" was originally applied to a top trim line of the Nissan Leopard for the Japanese market in 1986, and then to the Nissan Laurel mid-size car sold in Central America and the Caribbean before 1992. In 1992, Nissan discontinued the Stanza which was a Nissan Bluebird clone, replacing it with the US-built Altima, while remaining a compact car. The first Altima was produced in June 1992, as a 1993 model. All Altima models for the North American market were built in Smyrna, Tennessee, until June 2004, when Nissan's Canton, Mississippi plant also began producing the model to meet high demand.

Positive 2007 Nissan Altima hybrid car reviews

I love this car! It's so great to get about 35 mpg and still have room to seat 5 adults. The interior fit and finish is really nice (better than the Camry and Accord in my opinion). The car is really easy to drive and very responsive. It does take a few sessions to get used to the hybrid system, but once you do, you wonder why all cars aren't electric!

The Altima Hybrid is a great car! In my first 600 miles of mixed freeway and local driving, I achieved an impressive 34.1 mpg. While it was slightly less than my expectations, it is still much better than non-hybrid cars of similar size and performance. However, there are a few minor issues. The gas engine can be a bit rough and the ecu has the engine running too much in local driving. Additionally, the placement of the big battery creates a small trunk that is tall but short front to back, which may not be suitable for carrying long items. Lastly, I have the base model with limited instruments, including a speedometer that goes up to 160 mph, with hard to read gradations. Unfortunately, there is no tachometer or temperature gauge. Overall, the Altima Hybrid is a great car that offers impressive fuel efficiency and performance.

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with the Altima Hybrid with the Technology Package. I've been getting some great gas mileage - in my first 1,000 miles, I averaged 39.7 miles per gallon, and since then, I've improved it to 40.9 miles per gallon! One thing that's really helped me is using the energy flow information on the big screen - it's made a big difference in my mileage. Even though I still drive 60-70 mph, I've found that backing off the accelerator on declines and letting the electric motor take over (even at 65 mph!) has really helped. And when I'm in the mood for some power, I can always kick in the 198 combined hp - it's got 8 more hp than my old 1996 Maxima! Of course, if you're really looking for power, you might want to consider the 270 hp Altima instead. But for me, I'm loving being able to go 750 miles between fill-ups - and I'm even getting a $2,350 tax credit! Thanks for listening.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to say that I really love my car - it's brand new and I got a great deal on it with almost 0 percent financing. The dark blue color is so classy and I always get compliments on it. Plus, it's really spacious - I frequently carpool with four large teenagers and everyone always has plenty of room. However, I have noticed a creaking noise coming from somewhere in the car, which is a bit frustrating. I've taken it to the dealer 5 or 6 times now, but unfortunately, we haven't been able to solve the mystery yet. They've tried tightening the bolts on the dashboard and even removing the cup holder, but the noise persists. Do you have any suggestions on what I could try next? Thank you so much for your help!

I originally purchased this car for my wife because she really liked the looks. I also own a 2007 Dodge quad cab pick-up w/hemi, which you can imagine has poor gas mileage. I thought the Altima Hybrid would be a great complement to the truck. However, it turns out that I use the Altima for everything except towing and payload. I never would have believed it if you had told me that I would love this machine, but I really do! It looks great, is good on gas, and I haven't had any problems with it in the 2 years I've owned it. The 200 horses under the hood also make a noticeable difference. To be honest, it would be much easier for me to write about what I love about this vehicle than what I don't like about it.
