The Mitsubishi Triton or Mitsubishi L200 is a mid-size pickup truck produced by Mitsubishi Motors. In Japan, where it has only been sold intermittently and in small numbers, it was originally known as the Mitsubishi Forte and from 1991 as the Strada. In the United States, Chrysler Corporation sold captive imports as the Dodge D50, Dodge Ram 50 and Plymouth Arrow truck, and Mitsubishi marketed it as the Mitsubishi Mighty Max until 2002.

For most export markets the name L200 is used, though it has also been known as the Rodeo, Colt, Storm, Magnum, Strakar (used in Portugal since 1999; Strakar is a portmanteau of Strada and Dakar), and others. In 2015, Fiat Professional launched a rebadged version as the Fiat Fullback. In 2016, Ram Trucks launched a rebadged version as the Ram 1200 for the Middle East market.

Cumulative sales of the first three generations exceeded 2.8 million units around the world. As of February 2021, the pickup truck is sold in every available Mitsubishi market except the United States, Canada, Japan, India and China. In Japan, it was previously sold at a specific retail chain called Car Plaza.

Common 1995 Mitsubishi Pickup problems

Based on the information provided in the search results, here is a list of common problems with the 1995 Mitsubishi Mighty Max pickup truck based on complaints from owners:

  • Heating Matrix Leak Fault:
    • Owners have reported issues with heating matrix leaks in the Mitsubishi L200, which can result in antifreeze smells while driving or condensation on windows. Repairing this fault can be challenging due to the location of the heating matrix, requiring time and effort to access and replace the faulty component.
  • Head Gasket Fault:
    • Although less common, some owners have experienced head gasket leaks in the Mitsubishi L200. This seal between the cylinder heads and the engine block can develop leaks over time, potentially leading to overheating issues and other related problems. Monitoring for signs like bubbling radiators is crucial to detect this fault early.
  • Fuel Filter Fault:
    • Another common issue involves fuel filter clogging after a certain mileage, typically around 30,000 to 40,000 miles. Cheaper diesel types without proper lubricants or cleaners can exacerbate this problem, causing issues with fuel delivery and engine performance over time.
  • ABS Sensor Light Fault:
    • Owners have reported issues with the ABS sensor light in the Mitsubishi L200, indicating potential problems with the traction control system. Proper diagnostics are necessary to identify the exact cause, often attributed to faulty sensors within the ABS system. Addressing this fault promptly is essential to maintain safe driving conditions.

These common problems highlight various mechanical and system-related issues that owners of the 1995 Mitsubishi Mighty Max pickup truck may encounter. Addressing these concerns promptly through proper maintenance and timely repairs can help ensure the longevity and reliability of the vehicle.
