Common 2023 Lexus Rx350 problems
The 2023 Lexus RX350 has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from its owners. Here are the details of the issues:
- Engine Warning Lights and Oil Leakage: Some owners have reported engine warning lights coming on at around 1000 miles, with the warning lights reappearing at 2000 miles after initial service. The repair process involves replacing several parts, including the front oil pump/crank seal, exhaust cam gear, exhaust cam filter, high-pressure fuel pump gasket, and valve cover gasket.
- Dashboard Trim Coming Off: A few owners have reported that the dashboard trim keeps coming off the clips, even after the dealer has replaced the part.
- Vehicle Trembling: Some drivers have experienced trembling in the car when driving above 75 mph, although it is not severe.
- Control Start Malfunctions: Some owners have reported control start malfunctions, broken seatbelts, and dimming mirrors that don't work, even with only 180 miles on the vehicle.
- Inconvenient Controls: Several owners have expressed disappointment with the inconvenient placement of controls, which are now harder to find compared to previous models.
- Fuel Efficiency: Although Lexus claims a one mpg gain with the 4-cylinder engine over the previous V6, the new engine requires premium gas, which costs an additional 60 cents per gallon over regular gas, negating any fuel savings.
- Suede Interior: Some owners have criticized the suede interior as being unappealing and difficult to maintain.
- Infotainment System: The infotainment system has been described as extremely cumbersome and not user-friendly, with some users having difficulty even opening the door due to the button system.
- Jerky Transmission: Some owners have reported that the 8-speed automatic transmission is jerky, causing concern about its reliability.
- Digital Rear View Mirror: Although the cameras have improved, the digital rear view mirror appears to be VGA quality, which some owners find disappointing.
- Suede Dash on Passenger Side: Some owners have reported that the suede dash on the passenger side comes loose or off, with Lexus having no fix for the issue, leaving owners to glue it back in place.
These issues have led some owners to consider trading in their 2023 Lexus RX350 due to their dissatisfaction with the vehicle's build quality, technology, and performance.

I recently upgraded my vehicle from a 2020 RX350 Luxury model to the 2023 RX350 Luxury model and I must say, it's been a fantastic experience. Although the engine sound of the 4 cyl is different from the pleasing V6 of my old car, the drivability is just as good. The handling has improved significantly and the tech and comfort features are also greatly enhanced. Overall, I am very happy with my upgrade!

I'm really glad to hear that you're enjoying this vehicle so far. While it may take some time to get used to the turbo charge 4 cyl, it's great to hear that you don't have any major complaints at this point.

After driving it for a few months, I am not impressed with the vehicle. The engine is quite noisy and rough, and the gas mileage is horrendous. The interior is fine, but the infotainment system is too busy and the steering wheel controls are overwhelming. Although the handles are nice once you get used to them, I am still not sure why some people complain about them. Overall, I have decided to trade it in as it did not meet my expectations. In my opinion, choosing a 4-cylinder engine was a big mistake, especially one that is so noisy and inefficient.

This beautiful SUV can be a bit challenging to navigate due to some difficult-to-find options. Basic maneuvers that were once easy to reach for are now a bit more complicated. The engine can be a bit noisy and lacks power, especially in terms of low-end torque. Shifting is not as intuitive as one might expect. The 21-inch wheels can feel a bit awkward, so the standard 19-inch wheels may be a better option. The panoramic roof controls can be a bit confusing at first, but with practice, they become easier to use. Unfortunately, the rear seat climate controls do not have an on-off switch and still require the driver's input. The HUD can be difficult to set up with its tiny touchpad on the steering wheel. During the trial period, Sirius radio only offers seven selections. Visibility to the left and right rear corners is minimal, and the driver's seat may not adjust high enough for smaller individuals. This SUV has a lot of great features, but it may take some time to figure out where to find them and how to use them. It may not be the best option for older drivers unless they are tech-savvy. If you still want the stylish design, sticking with the base unit may be a better option. Overall, this SUV has a lot of potential and is worth considering.

Although we have owned four RX350s since 2010, this latest one has been the most disappointing. However, it is worth noting that the cruise control is now conveniently located on the steering wheel. While there is room for improvement, the styling is an improvement from the 2016 model. The controls may be a bit challenging to figure out, but with some time and patience, they can be mastered. I have been exploring newer vehicle options and have noticed that Lexus has some catching up to do. Overall, I am confident that Lexus will continue to improve and innovate in the future.

This car has only 180 miles on it, yet it is experiencing control start malfunctions, a broken seatbelt, and a dimming mirror that does not work.

This is my third RX350 in the last 10 years. However, I have noticed that the engine sounds like a motorcycle engine when you accelerate it. In my opinion, this was Lexus's biggest mistake ever. I don't know what they were trying to do when going to a 4 cylinder engine for such a heavy car. As a result, it's slow to accelerate, noisy and truly disappointing.
