Common 2017 Lexus Rc 200t problems
The Lexus RC 200t, introduced in 2017, has been reported to have several common issues based on owner complaints. These problems include turbocharger failure, engine oil leaks, transmission issues, and electrical system problems.
- Turbocharger Failure: This issue is particularly common in the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. The failure is often caused by a buildup of debris in the turbine, which can lead to a loss of power and poor performance. This issue can be addressed by regular maintenance and cleaning of the turbocharger system.
- Engine Oil Leaks: This problem has been reported in both the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine and the 3.5-liter V6 engine. The leaks are typically caused by a failed gasket or a worn-out seal. Regular inspections and timely replacement of worn-out parts can help prevent this issue.
- Transmission Problems: Transmission failure has been reported in the 2016 model year, particularly in the F Sport complectation. The issues can range from minor problems like rough shifting to major failures that require a complete replacement of the transmission. Regular maintenance and inspections can help identify potential issues early on and prevent major failures.
- Electrical System Issues: The Base RC200t model has been reported to have several electrical system issues, including problems with the battery, wiring, and sensors. These issues can lead to problems with the car's electronics, including the infotainment system, power windows, and power seats. Regular inspections and maintenance can help identify potential issues early on and prevent major failures.
In summary, while the Lexus RC 200t is a reliable vehicle, it's important to be aware of these common issues to ensure your car is performing at its best. Regular maintenance and addressing issues promptly can help prevent these issues from becoming more serious problems.

I was a bit nervous after trading my powerful V8 400hp Range Rover Sport Supercharger for a smaller 4cyl Turbocharger 241 and the low profile of the RC 200t. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the car's eco mode which saves gas, and the sport mode which makes the car come to life. Although it's not race car fast, it's fast enough for the streets. Additionally, the manual mode with paddle shifters made me grin from ear to ear, especially when merging onto the freeway. I like to call my RC 200t my Swiss army knife. At the end of the day, I'm happy with my purchase, and isn't that all that really matters?

I recently purchased a 2017 Lexus RCF turbo coupe with the 2.0 turbo engine and I absolutely love it! The Infared red color looks amazing and the car is incredibly comfortable, luxurious, smooth, and quiet. While there may be faster cars out there, this car is perfect for my needs. The attention to detail is exceptional, the seats fit like a glove, and the ride and comfort are top-notch. It's definitely a luxury car that is also economical and has all the latest features. The only downside is the info system, which can be confusing to use while driving. Overall, I would rate this car a 4.5 out of 5, with the only exception being the info system preventing it from being a perfect 10.

This car is beautiful and designed very well. The only downside is the Inline 4 with turbo, which puts Lexus behind BMW and Audi in this department. However, it's worth noting that this engine has more horsepower than its IS predecessor baby V6. That being said, the old entry-level engine gives you better acceleration off the line. If you can spare the cash, it may be better to step up to the RC350. Other than that, you can't go wrong with the RC200t.

Beautiful car that can barely be faulted. However, I noticed that the first tank of gas on 200t yielded 14.4 mpg, which was worse than any 6 or 8 cylinder car I've ever driven. But, after driving it for a while, I learned how to get the best mileage out of it. On the second tank, I had it on 'Regular' drive, which means the turbo charger only pops in when necessary, and I got 25.6 mpg. On the third tank, I got an impressive 35 mpg. Now, I always know how to drive it for the best mileage, while still being able to jam that turbo charger in for high performance.
