- Summary: The vehicle has 119285 miles on it. I have started to see oil leak from the transfer-case/transmission. I called lexus back in August 2023, they were aware of certain vehicle developing oil leak problems. They issued recall on certain vehicles and issued a TSB for oil leak repair. I called lexus today and took the vehicle to the dealership. There is an understanding that my vehicle won't be covered under recall even though the problem is known to lexus. This issue may lead to unexpected breakdown of the vehicle and lead to loose of control of the vehicle.

- Summary: Left work for work in the morning and as I turned off my street to get onto a main street, I drive a block and the Check Engine Light appears and message appears on my console State "AWD System Malfuction." See Dealership Service. Drove to the dealership to drop off my care, and after 3 days of inspecting my car, the service specialist messaged me with a service summary of a list of items that need to be repaired to have my car run safely again. The total service totaling over 10k, which included repair head cylinder, valve guides, gasket, valve exhaust, cylinder head gasket cover. After speaking to the Service Specialist, he told me the issue is what they refer to "engine wrap" where the cover to the engine distorts (due to heat and time) and messes with the engine itself. He informed me this is a known issue that can occur with the 2015 NX200t.

- Summary: Since I am just finding out how to file a complaint I figured I would. I still have this car with me. The incident happened about 2 years ago. I was driving down the highway going to Castle Rock Colorado. When all of a sudden my car is thrown into neutral and my rpms go to 6,000. I had no way to accelerate and the car wasn't in gear to help decelerate . Since I was going down the highway at a high rate of speed trucks and cars were all around me.. I immediately turned on my four ways and pulled the car over to the side of the highway. As there was nothing wrong with the motor and it seemed like it was just with the transmission I. Decided to continue but as I continued when I got to 4 gear it would once again throw it out of gear and I couldn't accelerate and I had to pull over. At this point I knew something was wrong. I immediately got the car to a safe area and got it home and the next day got the car to the mechanic. The mechanics said that I needed a new transmission 4 gear is just missing. When the mechanic was putting back together. The very expensive $7,345.00 transmission. He got the parts directly from Lexus and when he went to test, drive the car with the same but new components the transmission immediately failed again, not allowing him to shift in the 4 gear and stalling the car putting him in danger on a busy road. When he got back to his shop he called back to Lexus to verify that the parts that he was given were correct. They verified that the new parts he was given are the old design and that he needed upgraded newer parts that lexus has designed and should have never gotten the other ones . At this point he got the proper parts again and for a second time put the upgrade parts in and it worked . By Lexus not giving the mechanic, the proper upgraded parts. Not only did they put me in danger with the part breaking the first time on the highway they put the mechanic in danger by not giving him the upgraded parts the first time ... thank you

- Summary: I purchased this vehicle in 2015 - it has been dealer serviced and has never been in an accident. At just under 90,000 miles on the odometer, a major fluid leak started. It turns out that the rear main (crankshaft) seal had failed, causing a leak of transmission oil. No warning lamps or messages appeared. This failure resulted in an extraordinarily expensive repair, over $2,500.00 at the dealer, Lexus of Greenwood Village (Colorado). It was not covered on warranty. This is a major safety issue - had I not noticed the leak, which occurred without warning, the engine could have seized on a highway, leading to a crash. This failed seal should be designed to last far longer than 90,000 miles. Premature failure of this kind is highly likely secondary to a defect in design or materials. I have complained to Lexus, which is unwilling to take any responsibility for this. Please investigate as to whether a recall is warranted, and whether the manufacturer should be responsible for the repair of this obvious defect. Thanks.

THESE SAFETY DEFECTS WERE FORTUNATELY DISCOVERED IN MY GARAGE AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO CONNECT A CHARGER TO THE 12-VOLT BATTERY LOCATED IN THE TRUNK. WHILE CLIMBING INTO THE BACK SEAT, I INADVERTENTLY SLID THE CHILD LOCK LEVER ON THE SIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL INTO THE LOCKED POSITION. I REMOVED THE HEADRESTS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE TRUNK BECAUSE THE TRUNK DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. I THEN NOTED THAT THERE IS NOT EMERGENCY TRUNK RELEASE LEVER IN THE TRUNK AREA. ONCE THE PASSENGER DOOR CLOSED, THE ONLY EXIT FROM CAR WAS THE FRONT DOORS. WORSE STILL, THE CAR HORN IS DISABLED WITH BATTERY FAILURE, ELIMINATING THE POSSIBILITY OF SIGNALING FOR HELP. SHORTING OF THE 12-VOLT BATTERY IN THE LEXUS NX 300H, TURNS THIS VEHICLE INTO A SAFETY HAZARD.

THE ONLY THING THAT SAVED ME WAS THAT I HAD THE INTERIOR SLIDE HATCH HALFWAY CLOSED SO GLASS DIDN'T ENTER THE VEHICLE. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT IT AND DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE AGENT WHO LOOKED AT MY CAR REPORTED THAT THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST AND IT LOOKED REMOTELY SIMILAR. WE CHECKED FOR A ROCK LIKE STRUCTURE BY SHINING A LIGHT IN THE ROOF AREA AND NOTHING WAS FOUND. I CONTACTED LEXUS EXECUTIVE OFFICE AND WHILE THEY WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL, THE THEORY THAT SOMETHING HIT MY CAR WAS NOT SUPPORTED BY THE LAW OF PHYSICS OR MOTION. IF SOMETHING HIT THE TOP OF THE VEHICLE WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH THE SPEED OF IMPACT FROM THE OBJECT WOULD BE DOUBLED EVEN TRIPLED AND DEFINITELY INSIDE MY CAR OR ON TOP OF MY HEAD. THE TRAJECTORY PATH FROM THIS OBJECT HAD TO BE SPOT ON AND COME FROM EXTREME HEIGHTS AND DISTANCE TO LAND ON TOP OF THE CAR. THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE VEHICULAR DAMAGE AND I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT IF THAT WERE THE CASE AS THE HOLE IS MORE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. ALL IN ALL NO ONE WAS HURT AND THANKFULLY MY SUNROOF WILL BE REPLACED. I FEEL AS THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MORE THAN SEVERAL OCCASIONS AS TO WHY I WAS TAKEN CARE OF SO QUICKLY. I JUST LEARNED THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN ANOTHER STATE ABOUT THE RX SUNROOF EXPLODING.

I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER IF THE PROBLEM RETURNS. I HAVE CHECKED ONLINE AND SEE THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM FOR OTHER NX300T OWNERS AND CONSIDER THIS MALFUNCTION CAN BE CATASTROPHIC SHOULD THIS MALFUNCTION OCCUR WHILE DRIVING DURING BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS. IN ADDITION TO THIS PROBLEM I WAS HIGHWAY DRIVING APPROXIMATELY DECEMBER 2018 WHEN I EXPERIENCED THE VEHICLE SURGINDAS THOUGH HYDROPLANING BY THERE WAS NO BAD WEATHER AT THE TIME. I HAVE NOT HAD A REPEAT OF THIS OCCURRENCE.

THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE IMPACTED THE DRIVERS DOOR OF THE OTHER VEHICLE INVOLVED. THE OTHER VEHICLE INVOLVED HAD THEIR AIRBAGS DEPLOY PROTECTING THEM FROM THE COLLISION. I WAS PROPERLY RESTRAINED WITH MY SEATBELT, HOWEVER, SUSTAINED INJURY TO MY CHEST FROM IMPACTING THE STEERING WHEEL AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. ADDITIONALLY MY VEHICLE HAD JUST BEEN IN FOR SERVICE AND AT NO TIME DID I HAVE ANY TROUBLE LIGHTS OR NOTIFICATION TO INDICATE THERE COULD BE A PROBLEM. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES, SPECIFICALLY THE FRONT OF MY CAR MAKING IT INOPERABLE. PHOTOS WERE TAKEN AND A POLICE REPORT IS CURRENTLY BEING PREPARED BY THE TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL.

- Summary: I WAS PARALLEL PARKING IN MY WORK PARKING LOT. AS I WAS TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT TO BACK INTO THE SPACE, I FELT A JOLT IN THE STEERING WHEEL & HEARD A NOISE WHICH I BELIEVED WAS JUST A ROCK SLIPPING FROM UNDER THE TIRE SO I IGNORED IT. AT THE END OF THE DAY, I GET BACK TO MY CAR TO PULL OUT OF THE SPACE. AS I'M TURNING THE WHEEL, I FELT THE JOLT AGAIN AND IT WAS MUCH MORE NOTICEABLE. AS I TRIED TO ACCELERATE TO PULL OUT, THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING. SOMETHING MUST HAVE BEEN WRONG. I LOOK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE; FIRST UNDER THE DRIVERS (LEFT) SIDE, AND THEN TO THE PASSENGER (RIGHT) SIDE. IMMEDIATELY, I NOTICED THE INNER TIE ROD WAS SNAPPED IN HALF ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS EXPLAINS WHY MY CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE SINCE THE TWO WHEELS WERE FACING IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. WITH THE TIE ROD SNAPPED, THE RIGHT WHEEL WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE STEERING RACK. LET ME SAY THAT MY CAR WAS NEVER INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, NOR DID I EVER HIT ANYTHING ON THE ROAD, HIT A CURB, OR RUN ANYTHING OVER WHILE DRIVING. I CALLED LEXUS TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED & THE SERVICE ADVISER TOLD ME IT'S COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY TOW THE CAR TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP, INVESTIGATE TO SEE HOW THE PART FAILED & DETERMINED THE THEY CANNOT COVER IT BECAUSE THE TIE ROD LOOKED BENT. THEY SAID THE ROD MUST HAVE BEEN BENT PRIOR TO SNAPPING IN HALF. MY ARGUMENT WAS IF THAT WERE THE CASE, I WOULD FEEL IT IN THE STEERING/ALIGNMENT WHILE DRIVING. COULD THE SNAPPING/CRACK AND TURNING OF THE WHEEL CAUSE A BEND IN THE TIE ROD? CERTAINLY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE CRACK IN THE TIE ROD OTHER THAN A FAULTY ROD AND THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T GIVE ME A DEFINITE ANSWER. I WOULD THINK OTHER COMPONENTS WOULD HAVE BEEN BENT IF THERE WERE ANY PRIOR IMPACT OR ACCIDENT. THIS SHOULD NOT FAIL IN 3 YEARS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING! IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING, I CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! PLEASE INVESTIGATE!

ALL ATTEMPTS TO KEEP IT FROM BLOWING HOT AIR WERE UNSUCCESSFUL AND THE SUV HAD TO BE TAKEN IN TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THE "ACCUATORS" HAD TO BE REPLACED IN THE SYSTEM. THIS WEEK THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THE SUV HAD TO BE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SAME EXACT REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THIS MAY NOT SEEM LIKE A BIG SAFETY ISSUE BUT TO US HERE IN ARIZONA THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS YOUR CAR CAN GET TO 150-200 DEGREES IF IT SITS IN THE SUN FOR AN HOUR AND WE HAVE A 10 MONTH OLD INFANT. IF WE WERE FORCED TO TRANSPORT HER A LONG DISTANCE WITH THE A/C BLOWING THE HOTTEST AIR POSSIBLE INTO AN ALREADY SCORCHING CAR IT COULD BE LIFE-THREATENING.

SHE WAS DRIVING 2015 LEXUS NX 200T ON THE SERVICE ROAD ABOUT 39 MPH AND AT THE DISTANCE ABOUT 50 TO 60 FEET AS SHE WAS APPROACHING IN THE CAR IN FRONT, SHE HAD HER FOOT ON THE BREAK AND HER VEHICLE WAS NOT STOPPING AND SHE WAS PUSHING THE BREAKS REPEATEDLY AND THE BREAKS DIDN'T FUNCTION AND THE CAR DIDN'T SLOW DOWN. FINALLY SHE EMBRACED FOR IMPACT AND ENDED UP TO REAR END CRASH AND HITTING HEAD ON THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER, AND ALSO PUSHING IT TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE CAUSING REAR END COLLISION AND INVOLVING 3 CARS IN CRASH. (INITIALLY IN DISTANCE I SAW BOTH OTHER TWO CARS IN FRONT OF ME TAKING BREAKS AS THEY WERE ABOUT TO STOP, THE FIRST CAR STOPPED COMPLETELY FIRST, THE SECOND ONE SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS A VERY HARSH ONE AND DON'T REALLY KNOW IF HE HIT THE FIRST ONE OR WHEN I HIT IT THAT HAPPEN AND REGARDLESS HIS FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BREAKS THEN HE COULDN'T AVOID HITTING THE FIRST ONE ???) BEFORE THE CRASH AND ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO MY DAUGHTER TOLD ME THAT HER BREAKS WERE SKIDING OUT OF CONTROL, AND ALSO I HAD RECEIVED THE RECALL FROM LEXUS AND URGENTLY STOPPED BY LEXUS DEALER AND HAD RECALL INSPECTION COMPLETED. BASED ON INVOICE THE CAR WAS INSPECTED BY LEXUS AND REPROGRAMMED THE BREAK SKID CONTROL ECU AS PART OF RECALL, AND THIS IS THE MOST SCARY PART KNOWING THAT THE BREAK ISSUE FAILURE IS STILL HAPPENING EVEN AFTER THE RECALL. I HAVE REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO MY INSURANCE FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION TO IDENTIFY THE BREAK FAILURE CAUSE AND CONTACTING LEXUS FOR THEIR AWARENESS AND OWN INVESTIGATION AS NECESSARILY SO THE RIGHT PREVENTIVE ACTIONS ARE PLACED TO STOP ANY OTHER REOCCURRENCE. - Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) recalled certain 2018-2019 4Runner, Highlander, Camry, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma and Tundra, and Lexus RC 300, RC 350, GS 350, GX 460, IS 300, LC 500, LS 500, LX 570, RX 350L, and 2019 Toyota Avalon and Corolla, and certain Lexus NX 300, and ES 350 vehicles on January 13, 2020. On March 4, 2020, Toyota expanded the recall to include certain 2014-2015 Toyota 4Runner and Land Cruiser, 2018 Avalon, Corolla, 2014 FJ Cruiser, 2017 Sienna and Lexus 2018 ES 350, 2018-2019 GS 300, 2013-2014 GS350, 2014-2015 GX 460, IS 350 and LX 570, 2014 IS F, 2018-2019 IS 350, LC 500H and LS 500H, 2013-2015 LS 460, 2015 NX 200T and RC350, 2017 RC 200T and RX 350. Toyota also removed the 2018-2019 Toyota 4Runner and Land Cruiser and 2018-2019 Lexus GX 460 and LX 570 and 2019 NX300 from inclusion in this recall. On March 19, 2020, Toyota expanded the recall to include 2015 Lexus GS350 vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
- Consequence: If the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began May 4, 2020. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 20TB02 and 20TA02 for Toyota vehicles and 20LB01 and 20LA01 for Lexus vehicles.

My wife fell in love with the original RX300 15 years ago and has now fallen in love again with our new NX200t, which we purchased on 12/8/14. We made sure to get certain packages that fit her needs and wants perfectly. The exterior style may be polarizing, with some loving it and others hating it, but I personally think it's an acquired taste. The white exterior looks cute while the black looks cool. The interior design takes a minimalist approach, which gives it a simple yet elegant look. The vehicle's dynamic can be changed to fit the driver's mood, and the turbo really kicks in around 2000 rpm, which you can really feel. The handling is sporty for a CUV, firm but not harsh, and the steering response is quick but light. To sum it up, it's a tall sedan with good mileage, nimble, sporty luxury. After 2+ years of usage, not much has changed from my original review. It's not race-ready like a Honda S2000, not razor-sharp like a Porsche Cayman, not classy like an MB SL500, and not macho like a BMW Z3. It's more like a Mazda Miata in CUV form, fun well within the boundary. After 5+ years of ownership, I've noticed that it's best to give it 10-15 seconds after starting the car to lubricate the turbo (you will notice the drop in RPM), as the engine will run a lot smoother. After several valet parking incidents, I noticed that the engine idled a bit high (even rough). I figured the attendant probably drove the vehicle right away while the oil hadn't made it to the turbo for lubrication. I won't valet-park this vehicle in the future. Other than that, the vehicle is a hoot to drive (I always have it in SPORT mode while my wife has it in NORMAL).

I recently purchased the newest addition to the LEXUS crossover/SUV fleet, a 2016 model. I find myself constantly saying, 'This car is perfect.' While it may not be the best choice for those seeking V6 power, the NX is always ready to run. It boasts superb electronics, flawless interior, and a great ride even over heavy frost heaves. Additionally, it is very agile and quiet. In a few years, I believe it will outsell its big brother RX, not because the RX is lacking, but because the NX offers so much while also handling far better than the RX and costing about $8,000 less at base MSRP.

I recently downsized from my VW Touareg and opted for the F-Sport model of the NX 200t. I am extremely satisfied with my decision as it is a fun, sporty and comfortable car to drive. As an aggressive driver, I appreciate its performance and it has not disappointed me. The seats are highly adjustable, which is great for me as a small person, and they maintain good high visibility. Although I have some complaints about the Lexus Enform entertainment system and the lack of heads up display in the US, overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Before trading in my IS 350 for the NX 200t F Sport, I test drove a few vehicles. One thing I noticed was that the Lexus did not have a digital speed limit, which may seem trivial, but even a 10 year old Civic has digital speed. Additionally, I found that the way Lexus packaged their options was a bit odd; the F Sport does not come with ventilated seats. While I would have expected additional features like lane departure warning and brake assist for the price I paid, I do appreciate the blind spot indicators. Although my 2008 IS 350 had memory seats for the passenger, my NX 200t does not. Despite these minor differences, I find the sound quality to be great, and the seats to be very comfortable and spacious. However, as a small person, I did find the seats to be a bit snug around my arms, making it difficult to lean on the armrest (maybe because I sit close!). Overall, I think this is a beautiful car, despite not having real leather. The NuLuxe material feels wonderful and will last a long time. The ride is smooth, but stiffer in sport mode. The look of the car is amazing, and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to upgrade. I'm really enjoying this car!

Our 2010 Rx had no issues, but this one is causing some trouble. The phone connection is unstable and the cursor jumps around on its own. Additionally, it's mostly front-wheel drive, which causes some torque steer. We've contacted the dealer, but unfortunately, there is no fix at the moment. While the stereo controls can be a bit complicated, with a little patience, it's easy to use. We're confident that Toyota will find a solution to these issues soon. After all, we've been loyal Toyota customers since 1971.

I am confident that this issue with the A/C in my Lexus is not indicative of the brand's overall quality. While I have owned many cars and never experienced A/C problems without maintenance, I am confident that this is an isolated incident. The vehicle I drove had an attractive brilliant white exterior with a flaxon interior. However, I was disappointed by the under-powered 4-cylinder engine and the cheap sounding audio system. Although it may be an entry-level system, it constantly displayed harmonic distortion and was not up to the level of quality I would have expected from such a prestigious brand as Lexus. On the other hand, the interior is well done and rivals the larger RX models for ergonomics. I would still consider the NX and recommend the NX300h Hybrid version for better fuel economy and additional instant power. For those of us not wanting to always have to get into the Turbo for passing, accelerating onto on-ramps, etc., a small V-6 in the NX200T would be a great addition.

Hello! I recently purchased a 2015 NX200T with only 12200 miles and it's almost like new! Unfortunately, I discovered a serious fuel leaking issue less than a month after purchasing it on Black Friday 2016. I was worried about the safety of my family and myself while driving it, as any tiny spark could have caused a serious accident. When I contacted the Lexus Park Place dealership, they only asked if I had hit something or if I was driving properly, which made me feel like they were blaming me for the issue. I only use this car for my daily commute from Monday to Friday, so I was surprised to find out about the issue. Although the dealership offered to fix it, I'm concerned about the safety of this model and whether this issue will happen again. I would appreciate any advice or information you can provide.
