Common 2008 Lexus Is 250 problems
The Lexus IS 250, introduced in 2008, is known for its reliability and durability. However, there are a few common issues that owners have reported.
One of the most frequently mentioned problems is the dashboard melting. This issue is caused by the exposure of the dashboard to direct sunlight, which can lead to the melting of the plastic material. This problem can be solved by using a sunshade or tinting the windows to reduce the amount of sunlight that reaches the dashboard.
Another common issue is the melting of the door panels. This problem is also caused by exposure to direct sunlight. The solution is similar to the one for the dashboard melting issue.
The infotainment system not working is another problem that has been reported by some owners. This issue can be caused by a variety of factors, including software bugs, hardware failures, or connectivity problems. The solution to this problem may require professional assistance, such as updating the software or replacing the hardware.
The inside rear-view mirror discoloring is a less common issue, but it has been reported by some owners. This problem is caused by exposure to direct sunlight, which can lead to the discoloration of the mirror. The solution is to replace the mirror with a new one.
In addition to these issues, there are some specific problems that have been reported for the 2008 model year. For example, some owners have reported issues with sticking calipers, water pump, and exhaust. These problems can be solved by regular servicing and maintenance, preferably by Lexus.
Overall, the Lexus IS 250 is a reliable and durable vehicle, but like any other car, it can have some common issues. Regular servicing and maintenance, as well as using sunshades and tinting the windows, can help prevent many of these problems.

- Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator. The recall began November 20, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J0A, J0B, and J0C. I also had a problem with my brakes. When I back up the brakes squeak. With less than 10000 miles I'm sure it's not the brake pads. If it is, I would be disappointed. I'm really enjoying the smooth ride though. The cabin is tight, power is acceptable and the gas mileage is excellent!

If you're in search of a car with a sporty drive, the 350 or G37 are great options. However, if you're like me and have replaced the lead in your foot with maturity, then this is the perfect car for you. I purchased this car 15k miles ago with 35k miles and it has been a great experience. It's my first luxury car, but I've driven all the competition (bmw, g37, tl, c300) and this one stands out. The car is comfortable, looks great, feels great, and the navigation system makes life easy. While the interior is a bit of a tight fit, if you only use the back seat on occasion, it will do just fine. If you're sitting in the front, you'll be comfortable, pleased with the look of the interior, and find the touch screen easy to use.

Pros: I absolutely love how fun it is to drive, especially in the mountains and through curves as it really hugs the road. Plus, it has great gas mileage, getting up to 25mpg in the city and up to 35mpg on the highway. The front seats are incredibly comfortable, even after 12 hours of driving, and the small turning radius makes it very handy. Cons: While the rear seats are a bit cramped, the excessive road noise and bumpy ride can be a bit of a downside. Additionally, the front tires tend to wear unevenly and it lacks a little power. Lastly, the paint quality could be improved. Overall, it's a great car with some minor drawbacks.

I've noticed that some reviews have mentioned issues with the ride quality. In my experience, this can be improved by replacing the Potenzas that come with the car with Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires. Additionally, it's important to keep in mind that low profile tires are more susceptible to damage, regardless of the car you drive. Despite being driven hard for 80 miles a day, my car, which is almost three years old, has not developed any rattles, squeaks, or other flaws. From day one, it has been perfect. While the engine has decent power, I do believe that for the price of $42K, it could have more. However, the interior comfort and design are truly outstanding.

I absolutely love my LEXUS! It's a 2008 model that feels like a 2016. I even gave her a name, Alexys. She's white and I added an aftermarket front, new headlights, body kit, and rims, as well as a black roof top, so now she looks like a 2016 model. Whenever I drive her, I can't help but admire her beauty both inside and out. I've had her for three years now and have put about 20k miles on her each year, which is a lot, but she's been very reliable. All I've ever had to do was change the oil and put in premium gas. She's a truly comfortable and luxurious car. The only downside is that I wish she had better acceleration, but that's a minor issue. If you're looking to upgrade your car, I highly recommend hooking up your LEXUS. eBay is a great place to find what you need!

My wife and I have been leasing an IS250 for 2 years. Although the car has some good sporty looks and a large screen navigation system, we have had a very negative experience with it. The ride quality is extremely poor, making it difficult to drive on the road. The seats are small and uncomfortable, and even at our height of 5'-6'', we feel cramped. Additionally, the wind noise is quite noticeable. Overall, we have found this car to be a disappointment.

Although I am looking forward to the end of my lease, I must say that my experience with this car has been less than satisfactory. The visibility is quite poor, particularly when reversing, and the low profile tires have proven to be quite expensive, with over $1500 spent on replacements despite the car having less than 15,000 miles. Additionally, the ride quality leaves much to be desired, with every bump on the road being felt. Overall, there is certainly room for improvement in these areas.

We leased our IS250AWD in December 2008 and have been enjoying the superb navigation system ever since. In comparison to our Acura TSX, we find the beep tone signaling a turn approach to be very helpful and eliminates any confusion. However, we did experience a significant drawback with this model due to the Low-Profile tires. Living in the Northeast, where pot-holes are common, we had to replace three tires within the first seven weeks due to irreparable damage, which unfortunately was not covered under warranty. Over the course of our three-year lease, we estimate that we had to replace approximately a dozen tires on this model. While low profile tires may be suitable for smooth rural roads in the south, they are not ideal for cities like Boston, New York, or Philadelphia.
