- Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator. The recall began November 20, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J0A, J0B, and J0C. Lexus' numbers for this recall are JLI, JLJ, and JLK.

- Summary: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 vehicles manufactured August 23, 2005, through October 5, 2011; 2010-2012 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles manufactured April 10, 2009, through October 6, 2011; and 2008-2011 Lexus IS-F vehicles manufactured December 14, 2007, through July 10, 2011. The nuts that fasten the wiper arms may be insufficiently torqued such that if the wiper arms are restricted by an external load, such as a buildup of heavy snow, one or both of the wipers may become inoperative.
- Consequence: Inoperative wipers could reduce driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and Lexus dealers will install new wiper arm nuts, free of charge. An interim letter was mailed to owners on April 4, 2013. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

This car is packed with great amenities and is exceptionally smooth to drive. It's also really fun to drive in manual mode with paddle shifters. I highly recommend the all-wheel-drive version for superb handling. All controls, such as audio, climate, and navigation, are easy to use with the touch screen. It's also very economical on gas, getting 22.8 mpg in the city and 32.5 mpg on a short 200-mile road trip. The only downside is the navigation system. I don't think it's Lexus's place to decide when I or my passenger can use the system. It greys out and can't be used while in motion, which is not a feature found in other automakers that I'm aware of. In my opinion, it's best not to buy the navigation system until Lexus changes their policy.

I just wanted to share how amazing my new car is! It was a graduation present and I couldn't be happier. As someone who used to drive a New Beetle, I'm used to smaller cars, and this one is the perfect size. The handling is amazing, and the GPS/nav is definitely worth every penny.

Congratulations on your new fully loaded Lexus IS250 with Xpack! The driving characteristics of this car are truly wonderful. You can expect the same level of quality, comfort, and technology that you would from any Lexus, with the added bonus of a sportier feel. After evaluating this car and a BMW 3-series, the Lexus won out easily in terms of quality, ride, and efficiency. While the BMW may have a better engine sound, you can always add F-accessories to the IS if you really need that sound. Plus, the handling on the IS is better. With fuel economy in the 25 range, this car is both efficient and fun to drive. The Smokey Granite Ext and Light Grey Int is a sharp look that I'm sure you'll love for years to come!

When you're in the market for a pre-owned car, it's easy to get caught up in the bigger, flashier models like the Lexus gs, BMW 5, and Audi a6. However, when my sales rep showed me the IS 250, I was immediately drawn to its unique style and class. After trading in my old car, I've been driving the IS 250 for 27 days now and I can confidently say that it's the perfect blend of fun and comfort. In fact, I can't even compare it to my old BMW which was only fun to drive.

My family member already owned an ES, so I considered getting a Lexus as well. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I got for my money. The Matador Red Mica with Beige interior (upgraded with perforated leather, heat/cool seats/woodgrain finish) really stands out in a crowd. The car has a great balance of attractive looks, solid performance, and unmistakable luxury both inside and out. It's a reliable choice for a daily driver and definitely worth the investment. In my opinion, it looks better than a BMW and performs better than a Mercedes, making it the clear winner over an Acura. Although I looked at other cars, I have not regretted my decision to choose this one at all.

My wife and I have been leasing an IS250 for 2 years. Although the car has some good sporty looks and a large screen navigation system, we have had a very negative experience with it. The ride quality is extremely poor, making it difficult to drive on the road. The seats are small and uncomfortable, and even at our height of 5'-6'', we feel cramped. Additionally, the wind noise is quite noticeable. Overall, we have found this car to be a disappointment.

Although I am looking forward to the end of my lease, I must say that my experience with this car has been less than satisfactory. The visibility is quite poor, particularly when reversing, and the low profile tires have proven to be quite expensive, with over $1500 spent on replacements despite the car having less than 15,000 miles. Additionally, the ride quality leaves much to be desired, with every bump on the road being felt. Overall, there is certainly room for improvement in these areas.

We leased our IS250AWD in December 2008 and have been enjoying the superb navigation system ever since. In comparison to our Acura TSX, we find the beep tone signaling a turn approach to be very helpful and eliminates any confusion. However, we did experience a significant drawback with this model due to the Low-Profile tires. Living in the Northeast, where pot-holes are common, we had to replace three tires within the first seven weeks due to irreparable damage, which unfortunately was not covered under warranty. Over the course of our three-year lease, we estimate that we had to replace approximately a dozen tires on this model. While low profile tires may be suitable for smooth rural roads in the south, they are not ideal for cities like Boston, New York, or Philadelphia.
