I shopped for an IS 250 AWD for about 5 months before getting one. I've had it for a little over a month and I still love it. I recently did a 1300 mile road trip and I drive it to work every day. I'm 27, 6 feet tall and my previous car was a 2001 Toyota Celica. Here's what I think of the IS with reference to the other reviews on here - first, yes, there is brake dust on the front wheels, but if you wash your car weekly, it's no big deal. I've noticed some pops from the dash, but it's usually only when the car is cold. After it warms up, they stop. I'm guessing this is different from car to car. Basically, I wanted a luxury Celica and I got one. It's fast enough for me, but I'm no racer.

Congratulations on your new IS250! It's great to hear that you're already enjoying it so much. The car sounds like it's performing really well and it's fantastic that you were able to get it Lexus certified. It's always reassuring to know that maintenance and any potential issues will be taken care of. It's also great to hear that you had a positive experience with the Lexus dealership and that you would consider purchasing from them again. Thank you for sharing your experience and we hope you continue to enjoy your Lexus for many years to come!

I chose the IS250 over the BMW 3 series and Audi because of its superior interior fit and trim. The Lexus interior finish is of a higher quality than the BMW finish, and at a more affordable price point. Although the 250 could use more power, you can get that in the 350, and the 250 gets great mileage, averaging about 26mpg combined highway and city driving, and up to 31mpg on the highway. The audio and navigation system is superb, although one drawback is that you cannot program the navigation system while the vehicle is in motion. The Bluetooth is clear, and the dashboard instrumentation layout is very sporty, providing quick reference for temperature, tire pressure, mpg, and distance to empty. The paddle shifters are a nice touch and add some sportiness to your daily drive.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share that I bought my car used from one owner a few years ago. It currently has 119,000 miles on it, but I recently had some work done on the air intake and got new spark plugs, and now it runs like new! I was considering upgrading to a newer model, but honestly, why bother? This car is still fantastic!

Hi there! Just wanted to give you an update on my IS 250. It now has 18,000 miles on the odometer and I'm happy to report that I haven't had any problems with it since my last review at 11,000 miles. I've been taking it in for routine oil changes and maintenance and everything is running smoothly. The brake pads are still in great condition and the original tires still have plenty of tread left. According to the onboard computer, I'm getting an overall average of 27 mpg, and on the highway, it's even better at 33 to 34 mpg. Thanks for reading!

I have owned three Lexus cars. My first one was a 2003 is300 and I absolutely loved it. However, I don't feel the same way about my current car. I have had several issues with it, including the airbag harness which cost me $2500 due to an airbag light, and the rear passenger axle which cost me $1000. Additionally, my exhaust has a leak which makes it loud, the door trim is coming off, and the window makes a loud noise and is slow when you roll it down. I have decided not to buy any more IS's unless it's the 300 again. Although I like the way the interior looks, it's not very comfortable for me as I'm 6ft tall. I have to push the seat all the way back and all the way down to get comfortable, and there's no headroom. I eventually sold my Lexus because it was burning 2 quarts of oil a month, which was disappointing. However, it never broke down on me. This is250 was definitely not like my is300 or my es330.

The IS 250 has an AC system drain line that can become clogged and not drain condensed water properly, which can cause damage to the passenger compartment. Unfortunately, this issue can occur even after the warranty period has ended. It is important to note that Lexus may only offer limited support to address this design problem.

So glad to hear that you're enjoying your car with 7500 miles on it! If I may suggest, it would be great if Lexus could consider using a higher profile tire and including a backup camera as standard. It can be quite difficult to see what's behind the car without one. On a recent 900 mile trip, we were impressed to see that the car achieved about 33 mpg despite being a 200 hp machine with AWD. That's really impressive!

Although I initially enjoyed this car, I have come to regret leasing it due to poor visibility when parallel parking, making turns, and backing up. Unfortunately, this has resulted in damage to the wheels and rims. As a first-time Lexus owner, I am disappointed and will not be leasing from them again.

Initial presentation/design excellent. Although the ride/handling tradeoff is poor compared to the best in class, the ride can be too busy/abrupt for actual handling precision and ability. The electric steering can feel numb. Unfortunately, the relationship between dash/windowsill height and seat height makes visibility poor in the name of style and pedestrian safety standards. However, the transmission, while smooth, is easily confused and generally delayed when a downshift is required. The engine is smooth and adequate, but the transmission makes it feel flat-footed. On the bright side, various technology is advanced and easy to use.
