- Summary: I've been advised that the cover over the rear differential is cracked and that the entire differential needs to be replaced. It seems illogical that the cover protecting a rear differential on a Jeep vehicle would be of a material that would crack when the vehicle has not been driven under extreme conditions. Both drivers have been and are currently [XXX] and have not had any citations. My residence is on a dirt road and some of my travel is on dirt roads however the appropriate care is taken. The vehicle is a 2019 with approximately 32,000 miles which indicates that the yearly mileage is low. I would appreciate consideration that the material used for the cover is faulty and that I should not be subject to the expense of replacing it and the rear differential. Fortunately it is not providing problems at this time and I have contacted the dealer to get it repaired/replaced. BUT I truly feel that this is faulty equipment on a JEEP. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

At the start of the drive, a warning message that read "4WD overheated. Temporarily unavailable" was seen. The alert showed 1 time and upon a quick search online, was seemingly insignificant. It never showed up again during the drive. We did leave around 4pm so the sun was out and hot, we believed it to be a temporary warning that would not affect our drive as we did not need 4WD during the drive. The jeep did not have a lot of miles on it and was only serviced at the dealership at appropriate windows as recommended by professionals. Once we reached El Paso, a strong smell occurred. Followed shortly by fire and flames coming from the front area, under the hood, near the engine. We pulled off to the side of the road while the flames grew bigger. The infant and all 4 adults were able to exit the vehicle timely but the fire was very large. Many onlookers stopped to check on our welfare. There was an investigation done but all that was said was that there was in fact a fire, and it did in fact start near the front of the vehicle by the engine. Chrysler said they could not determine anything further as there was damage from the fire. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Also the tire pressure on the console doesn’t work?? If I had a flat while driving it would not tell me how low my psi is on the tire?? I could have an accident?? Also the acceleration I think is slower due to the computer error that tells me to service shifter?? I just had a new battery installed and should not have these issues due to jeep having programming issues after a new battery is installed?? I never had this problem on any car I had after a battery installation???
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-01
- VIN: 1C4PJMDN2KD
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: Failing part - 8.4" Uconnect radio/control center of the Jeep. The Uconnect system is failing and started ghosting the vehicle, changes the radio, heat and AC, turns on backup camera, calls 911, etc. This specifically becomes a when it starts calling phone numbers and turning backup camera and becomes a distraction to the driver. The problem has been confirmed as the system control panel has delaminated and needs to be replaced by a Jeep Dealer. We were advised to have a Dealer check and confirm the control panel has delaminated and confirm it needs to be replaced. We followed this guidance from Chrysler/Jeep and Uconnect and told that once we did this and they confirmed it needed replaced they would start the process to replace the control panel. There were no warning signs that this was starting and first started about 6 months ago. It has now progressed to nearly every time use the vehicle the control panel starts ghosting all the controls. We have researched and understand that this is an issue with all the Uconnect 8.4 control systems, doesn't matter which vehicle it is in. What we have been able to find is it has been determined a safety issue in other vehicles and Chrysler/Jeep is replacing them. But for us we were told they would only warranty it to 60,000 miles. We have about 89,xxx miles on our Jeep. I don't understand how it can be determined a safety issue and Chrysler/Jeep can get by only covering this to 60,000 miles. It becomes a major safety issue when it randomly and constantly starts changing the temperature, fan speed, back up camera, radio, calling numbers including 911, this can only be stopped by turning the system completely off. this causes loss of many functions to the vehicle.

Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V637000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.

Dealer advised that driving with this warning light may or may not result in further damage. It could lead to damage of an axle or worse. Upon further research online, the PTU failure appears to be a known issue for many Jeep Cherokee owners.

I've owned a couple of Audi A4s in the past and had my sights set on a Q5 for my next family car. However, with the arrival of an expensive little one, I started to consider more budget-friendly options. The Honda CR-V may seem like an obvious choice, but I find them unattractive and lacking in power. Instead, I opted for a Limited 4X4 in white, which is both stylish and comfortable, with a powerful American-made engine. The interior is understated yet premium, with soft-touch plastics and a decent sound system. The 2.0L Turbo provides great acceleration, although the gearing takes some getting used to. The transmission could be more efficient, but it's a minor flaw in an otherwise solid vehicle. Plus, I got a great deal on it, paying less than $370 a month with no money down. Compared to the leasing prices of other cars, like the Volvo XC40, it's a fantastic value. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it.So, if you're looking for a family SUV that can handle some mud and has some power, without breaking the bank, the Jeep is a great option.

I've had my Trailhawk Elite for two months now and it's been fantastic! I've taken it on road trips and the miles just fly by. It's quiet, smooth, and a lot of fun to drive. I even took it camping and it proved to be the perfect vehicle for the job. It handled off-road conditions just as advertised, making me dream of taking it into even more extreme terrain. For those wondering about traveling with multiple passengers, I recently took four adults plus myself to a festival that was over two hours away and everyone was impressed with the ride. However, I did encounter one hiccup that I feel is important to point out. While camping, my wife accidentally shut the auto liftgate with a small nylon strap from our bags near the latch, which jammed the liftgate quite impressively. This required an emergency trip to the dealer as the interior lights wouldn't turn off and would drain the battery if not running. It seems like a problem that should be remedied given what the vehicle is intended for, so remember to pack the back carefully. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with my purchase, which I refer to as my mid-life crisis vehicle. I'm actually looking forward to the upcoming winter here in Buffalo, and that's saying something!

The styling of this vehicle is much improved over the previous years and has a more 'Jeepey' feel. We tested the Trailhawk against the Mazda, Honda, Ford and Toyota compatriots, and for us, the Trailhawk was the clear winner. It doesn't feel like a smaller vehicle (we traded in our venerable 2006 GC), and is close to the size of the new Grand Cherokee but at a better cost point. With the 9sp Active Drive II tranny and the 3.2L engine, it has excellent acceleration off the line once you learn the shift points. After test driving the optional 2.0L, we found the 3.2L to be a better value and a better performance fit with the tranny. Fit and finish is just fine, and the seats are comfortable. The electronics, particularly the 8.4' upgraded Uconnect system we paid for, are excellent, but can take a while to learn if you've never had a vehicle with this type of stuff in it before (and please, learn it in the driveway, not on the road!!). There are plenty of USB ports, roomy console and glove box storage, and we like the cell phone holder in the center console. Rear storage is reasonable for the size of the vehicle; anybody who buys a smaller SUV can't expect much, realistically, from just about any of them.

I hope you're enjoying your new car! It sounds like you made a great choice with the loaded limited Cherokee and the upgraded turbo engine. The interior and exterior are both beautiful, and it's great to hear that you love it even more than your previous Grand Cherokee. Plus, it sounds like you got a good deal on the price. Congratulations!

I love this Cherokee! It's really smooth and the 2.4 Multair is perfect for NYC driving. The fit and finish are good, and the uconnect system is fantastic. I will always get a Jeep from now on.

Hello! I have a 2019 Cherokee Latitude Plus with the 2.0T motor and I must say, it's quite impressive! This SUV is surprisingly quick and comfortable, with great tech features. As a former ASE mechanic, I have a good understanding of how vehicles work. Unfortunately, we experienced a hissing noise from under the dash shortly after purchasing it in August 2018. After receiving 2 recall notices, I made an appointment with the dealership, but had to wait 3 weeks for it. I asked them to look into the hissing noise, which turned out to be related to the HVAC system. However, the dealership did not order the parts for the recall, which caused further delay. After waiting for another 3 weeks, the recall parts finally arrived and the issue was resolved. But, after a month or so, the hissing noise returned. It took the dealership 2 weeks to find and fix the slow leak behind the dash. Unfortunately, the check engine light came on yesterday, which is a bit frustrating. Despite these issues, I still find it fun to drive. However, if there's one more issue, I may have to consider the Lemon law. Currently, it has around 7000 miles on it. Thank you for listening!

The car has some issues with stalling and braking, as well as acceleration speed. However, it does have a cute exterior and soft leather interior. The car play and bluetooth can be unreliable at times. While I have had some safety concerns due to stalling issues, I have found that many others have experienced similar problems. Overall, I would recommend doing some research before purchasing this car.

My vehicle has been stalling out for no apparent reason. Although I have not yet taken it back to the dealer to be looked at, I have read on forums that others have encountered similar issues with this model. I purchased this Jeep with only 21 miles on it, and it is already beginning to sound like an older vehicle with engine problems. It always sounds like it wants to bog out when leaving a complete stop, and the transmission doesn't seem to know when to switch gears. Overall, it's been a bit of a mess. I'm hoping the dealer can help me get to the bottom of this issue. Thank you for your help!

I recently purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, but unfortunately, I have been experiencing some issues with it. Within a few days of owning the car, it stalled multiple times, which was quite frustrating. I took it to the dealership, but they were unable to find any issues with the car. Despite this, the stalling problem persisted, and it even happened while I was driving on a busy road, which was quite dangerous. After doing some research online, I found that many other people have had similar issues with the 2019 Jeep Cherokee stalling. I believe that the company should take responsibility for this issue and recall the car before someone gets hurt. If you are considering purchasing a new Jeep Cherokee, I would advise you to be aware of this issue and do your research before making a decision.

If you're considering purchasing this car, I would strongly advise against it. Our experience with it has been extremely disappointing. Despite having only 2800 miles on the odometer, we are already looking to trade it in. The acceleration is poor, and we are only getting 13 miles to the gallon, which is very low for a 4 cylinder car. In fact, it's the worst vehicle I've ever owned, and I've had some bad experiences in the past. I want to be clear that I don't just dislike this car, I really can't stand it. I hope this information helps you make an informed decision about your purchase.
