THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AT APPROX 3-5 MPH AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. IT TRAVELLING THROUGH A PUDDLE OF APPROX 6"-12" IN DEPTH AND TURNING A CORNER. IT WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO FLOODING WATER AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. I SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT TO ISUZU (#98273035) AND TODATE HAVE NOT HAD ANYONE FROM ISUZU CONTACT ME TO COME TO REVIEW THE COMPLAINT NOR INVESTIGATE CAUSE OR EXPLAIN WHY OR HOW THIS CAN OCCUR. I HAVE RECEIVED TWO LETTERS FROM THEM CLAIMING NO FAULT, BUT EFFORT TO LOOK INTO PROBLEM WAS MADE.

- Consequence: IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR DURING BAD WEATHER, DRIVER VISIBILITY WOULD BE REDUCED, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WIPER MOTOR CIRCUIT BOARD AND COVER. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 14, 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT ISUZU AT 1-800-255-6727.

- Consequence: BRAKE FLUID LOSS CAN REDUCE BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS AND INCREASE STOPPING DISTANCES RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.

I love it! It's fun, fast, and reliable.

I purchased this little truck in Dec '98. It was an 'orphan' that had been sitting on the lot for 2 years, lost and alone. It only had 18 miles on the odometer, so it was practically brand new! I absolutely loved it. It came with a full warranty and had everything I needed. This great little truck worked hard and always came back for more. Although it could have used a bit more juice under the hood, what it had worked like a champ. It was comfortable, inexpensive, and reliable, making it a great truck all around. I only wish I hadn't totalled it last month!!

This car may not be the most powerful with its 4 cyl engine and 5 speed manual tranny, but it still gets the job done. Unfortunately, the A/C stopped working just after the 3 year warranty expired, and the battery had some issues after 12 months. Additionally, the driver door key can be a bit finicky at times.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my truck that I bought back in '98. On the same day, my son also bought a single cab 4 cylinder Hombre. Unfortunately, he had to replace the transmission twice under warranty. Recently, I've been having some trouble with my truck as well. The 'SERVICE ENGINE SOON' light is on and it's throwing the same code - 0557, which is the manufacturer's transmission code. The dealership reset the computer twice before when this happened, but it seems like the issue is persisting. It's definitely not ideal as the truck is experiencing low power, and I mean really low. Have you experienced anything similar with your vehicle?
