2002 Hyundai Xg300l problems
The Hyundai Grandeur (Korean: 현대 그랜저) is an executive sedan manufactured and marketed by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai since 1986, over five generations.
From 1986 to 1996, the Grandeur was the flagship for Hyundai's South Korean range before the Hyundai Dynasty was introduced. It is marketed globally as the Hyundai Azera. As the Azera, it was the flagship of Hyundai's US and Canadian lineup until the arrival of the Genesis sedan. After the launch of the separate Genesis brand, the Grandeur/Azera resumed its place as the company's flagship.
As of the 2017 model year, the Azera is no longer marketed in the United States and Canada. The sedan continued to be available in South Korea and the Middle East.

The Hyundai XG300L, a luxury sedan produced by Hyundai in 2002, has been reported to have several common problems by its owners. These issues range from engine performance to transmission and electrical system malfunctions.
One of the most frequently reported problems is related to the throttle body. Some owners have reported that their vehicles suddenly rev to high RPMs and then shut off, only to restart and idle correctly. This issue can also cause the car to not shift at the appropriate RPMs, leading to sudden slowdowns while driving. The check engine, ABS, TCS, and airbag lights may also be illuminated, indicating the presence of specific trouble codes such as P0141, P1118, P1178, P1191, and P1194. These codes are related to the throttle position sensor, fuel system, and transmission control system, which can be indicative of a faulty throttle body.
Another common issue with the Hyundai XG300L is related to the electrical system. The vehicle's electrical system can malfunction, causing the check engine light to illuminate and indicating the presence of specific trouble codes. These codes can be related to the engine, transmission, and other systems, indicating a potential electrical fault that can affect the vehicle's overall performance and safety.
The transmission system of the Hyundai XG300L has also been reported to have issues. Some owners have reported that their vehicles experience sudden slowdowns while driving, which can be related to the transmission not shifting at the appropriate RPMs. This issue can be caused by a variety of factors, including a faulty transmission control module, worn-out transmission components, or low transmission fluid levels.
In addition to these issues, the Hyundai XG300L has been reported to have problems with its engine performance. Some owners have reported that their vehicles experience power loss while driving, which can be related to a fuel system malfunction or a faulty throttle body. This issue can also be caused by other factors, including a clogged fuel filter, a faulty fuel pump, or a malfunctioning ignition system.
These common problems with the Hyundai XG300L can significantly impact the vehicle's overall performance and safety, and can be costly to repair. It is essential for owners of this vehicle to be aware of these issues and to address them promptly to ensure the vehicle's safe and reliable operation. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2002-04-04
- VIN: KMHFU45EX2A
- Components: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES
- Summary: I APOLOGIZE FOR ASKING NOW THREE [3] TIMES IN WRITING [AND SEVERAL MORE TIMES ORALLY] WHY THE MILES TO EMPTY MODE OF MY TRIP COMPUTER IS AT LEAST 60 MILES OFF FROM PROVIDING AN ACCURATE READING. I APOLOGIZE FOR ASKING NOW THREE [3] TIMES IN WRITING [AND SEVERAL MORE TIMES ORALLY] WHY A VEHICLE WITH 2503 MILES WOULD HAVE THE THROTTLE BODY STICK AND HAVE A CARBON BUILD UP IN THE INTAKE SYSTEM, AND AT 3102 MILES HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AS HAVING THE THROTTLE BODY STUCK CLOSED. [CAN YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THAT WOULD IMPAIR MY ENJOYMENT OF THE VEHICLE? AND AS THESE PROBLEMS ARE CONSISTENT WITH MY EVERYDAY EXPERIENCES IN THE VEHICLE, CAN YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THIS IMPAIRS MY USE OF THE VEHICLE?] . I APOLOGIZE FOR HAVING TO INFORM YOU YET AGAIN THAT MY VEHICLE PERIODICALLY UNLOCKS ITSELF AND SIMULTANEOUSLY DISENGAGES ITS ALARM. YES, I KNOW THAT YOUR ''INDEPENDENT APPRAISER'' DISAGREES, YET, OF COURSE, THIS WAS ANOTHER ITEM THAT HE FAILED TO CHECK WITH ME ON AND THEREBY DID NOT TEST FOR APPROPRIATELY DURING HIS 12.7 MILE JOY RIDE. YET I DO NOT FAULT HIM; YOU SEE, IT TAKES COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMERS, COMMITMENT TO CARING IN ORDER TO ASSESS A PROBLEM OF THIS NATURE SINCE IT IS INTERMITTENT. HE OWES ME NOTHING. DON''T GET ME WRONG, I KNOW HYUNDAI OWES ME EVEN LESS; I''M JUST LOST IN A UTOPIAN DREAM. BY WAY OF A COPY OF THIS LETTER, I AM INFORMING MY INSURANCE CARRIER THAT NEITHER YOU NOR I [SINCE I DON''T HAVE THE MEANS] CAN ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. WHEN MY VEHICLE GETS STOLEN, THEY CAN EXERCISE THEIR RIGHT OF SUBROGATION AND YOU CAN FIGHT IT OUT WITH AN ENTITY THAT HAS DEEP POCKETS INSTEAD OF HAVING YOUR TIME WASTED BY THE LITTLE PEOPLE. OF COURSE IT IS A SHAME THAT I LOSE THE RIGHT TO HAVE PEACE OF MIND IN DRIVING AND PARKING MY OWN VEHICLE BUT WHAT''S THE LOSS OF A FEW PERSONAL POSSESSIONS AMONG FRIENDS! I GUESS YOU HAVE TO PAY UPWARD OF $30,000 FOR THAT PRIVILEGE.
