2010 Gmc Yukon problems
The Chevrolet Tahoe, and its badge-engineered GMC Yukon counterpart, are full-size SUVs and other trucks from General Motors, offered since 1994 and 1991, respectively. Since 1982, Chevrolet and GMC sold two different-sized SUVs under their "Blazer" and "Jimmy" nameplates, by introducing the smaller S-10 Blazer and GMC S-15 Jimmy for the 1983 model year, below the full-size Blazer and Jimmy models. This situation lasted into the early 1990s. GMC first rebadged the full-size Jimmy as the "Yukon" in 1991. Chevrolet however waited until 1994, when they rebadged the redesigned mid-size S-10 Blazer the "new Blazer," while renaming the full-size Blazer as the "Tahoe." The name Tahoe refers to the rugged and scenic area surrounding Lake Tahoe in the western United States, and was originally used as a trim level on S-10 models. The name Yukon refers to the Yukon territory of northern Canada.
For the 1995 model year, the Tahoe and Yukon gained a new, longer four-door model, slotting in size between the two-door models and the longer-wheelbase Chevrolet/GMC Suburbans.
The Tahoe is sold in North America, parts of Asia such as the Philippines, and the Middle East, plus other countries including Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Angola as a left-hand-drive vehicle. The Yukon is only sold in North America and the Middle East.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon are part of General Motors' full-size SUV family and are differentiated from the similar Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL primarily by the length of the passenger and cargo area behind the C-pillar. An upscale trim GMC Denali sub-model joined the Yukon lineup as the top-of-the-line trim for the 1999 model year; the Cadillac Escalade is a closely related upscale version sharing the same platform. The Denali is available on both standard and XL versions.
The Tahoe has regularly been the best-selling full-size SUV in the United States, frequently outselling its competition by two to one.

Common 2010 Gmc Yukon problems
The GMC Yukon, a popular SUV known for its mighty V8 variants, has faced several common problems across different model years. While there were few engine issues, some models had oil leak problems that rarely led to seized engines. However, certain model-specific drawbacks affected the reliability ratings of specific Yukon years.
Transmission faults, especially on automatic gearbox vehicles, can be troublesome. Any sounds from the transmission, harsh shifting, or the shifter interlock issue can lead to safety concerns. The shifter interlock problem, which can cause the shifter lever to fall out of park mode, led to a recall for 2013 Yukons. This issue could potentially escalate into a rollaway problem, posing a significant safety risk.
The third-generation Yukon, produced from 2007 to 2014, had its fair share of electric issues. These problems sometimes caused a fire hazard, leading to a recall in 2010 to address the problematic control circuit harness. Drivers reported various electric problems, including A/C heater malfunctions, exterior lighting issues, and electronic stability control faults. A faulty sensor could even initiate sudden braking on 2015 to 2020 Yukons, posing a severe safety risk.
Another significant issue with the GMC Yukon is the driveshaft assembly, particularly the rear driveshaft assemblies. These components weren't made heat-resistant enough, causing sudden power losses while driving in some 2022 Yukons. This problem led to a recall to address the driveshaft assembly issue, which increases the risk of a crash if it happens while driving.
The fourth-generation Yukon (2015-2016 model years) had software-related electric issues, causing traction control light illumination and other dashboard warnings. These malfunctions affected stability control and other driver assist systems. Additionally, there was a problem with the seat belt assembly not being tightened properly, leading to a 2020 recall. The fifth-gen 2022 model year Yukon also had a driveshaft assembly problem, which was sorted out with a recall.
In terms of the GMC Yukon years to avoid, the 2015 and 2016 model years from the fourth generation are not recommended due to software-related electric issues. These problems caused traction control light illumination and other dashboard warnings, affecting stability control and other driver assist systems. The 2015 model, in particular, is prone to A/C failure, with an average repair cost of around $1,000.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM

- VIN: 1GKUKCE03AR
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: The open recall on this vehicle cannot be complete without the customer being fully responsible for damage that might be caused during the recall repair. GM is advising all dealerships to force customers to sign a waiver if they have the recall work performed releasing GM and the dealer from all responsibility of any damage done to the dashboard. If the dashboard is damaged and has to be replaced then the customer is faced with a more than $1000 repair job therefore the customer must choose between feeding and caring for their family or risking the passenger being seriously injured or killed due to the faulty airbag issue. GM should stand behind the decision they made to use cheap plastic for their dashboards on this vehicle instead of punishing their customers and costing them more money or risking injury or death to passengers.

- Summary: WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE SAYING THE PROPELLANT IN THIS INFLATOR MAY DEGRADE AFTER LONG-TERM EXPOSURE TO HIGH HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE CYCLING, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE INFLATOR TO EXPLODE DURING A DEPLOYMENT. AN INFLATOR RUPTURE MAY CAUSE METAL FRAGMENTS TO PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG AND INTO THE VEHICLE INTERIOR AT HIGH SPEED, WHCIH MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO PASSENGERS. WHEN WE CALLED THE GMC DEALER TO GET THIS FIXED, THEY SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE FOR MY HUSBAND, MYSELF AND OUR 6 CHILDREN THAT WE RIDE IN TOGETHER EACH DAY. I'M ALSO PREGNANT AND EXPECTING A BABY IN AUGUST - WE SHOULD NOT BE FORCED TO DRIVE AROUND IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE, GMC SHOULD BE OFFERING AN ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE FOR USE UNTIL THEY HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE OR SOME OPTION TO KEEP OUR FAMILY SAFE.

STRUCTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-05-05
- VIN: 1GKUCEEF9AR
- Components: STRUCTURE
- Summary: SINCE 2016 THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THE DASH CRACKING, RECENTLY THIS ISSUE HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE. THE DASH IS LITERALLY ABOUT TO FALL IN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MOSTLY DURING TIMES IT WAS SITTING ALTHOUGH DRIVING HAS DEFINITELY MADE IT MUCH WORSE. I'M CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIRBAG DOES HAPPEN TO GO OFF IT'S GOING TO THROW SHARP PIECES OF PLASTIC FLYING THROUGHOUT THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. ANOTHER ISSUE I HAVE FOUND IS IF I SET ANY PAPERS ON THE DASH THEY FALL INTO THE DASH. I CAN NOW SEE THE WIRING INSIDE THE DASH BECAUSE OF THE MISSING PIECES. ON TOP OF THIS YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL TOUCHING THE DASH AS I HAVE BEEN CUT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FROM THE SHARP EDGES CREATED BY THIS ISSUE. THE CENTER OF THE DASH APPEARS TO BE ON BORROWED TIME IT HAS SUNKEN NEARLY A HALF AN INCH WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THIS IS JUST NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FOR THE VEHICLE AND REFUSES TO FIX IT WITHOUT ME FOOTING THE BILL. THIS JUST SEEMS OUTRAGEOUS ON A CAR PRICED NORTH OF 60K
AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-06-01
- VIN: 1GKUCEEF8AR
- Components: AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: MY DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED AND IS NOW IN MANY PIECES. I KNOW IT IS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE SO I'VE GLUED AND TAPED IT TOGETHER TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. THE DASH RATTLES AND SHAKES THROUGHOUT ANY TRIP I TAKE. I LOVE MY CAR! I WANT IT TO BE 'HEALED'. IT'S VERY DISTRACTING TO DRIVE WITH YOUR DASH MAKING ALL THAT NOISE. IF I'M EVER IN AN ACCIDENT, EVEN EVER SO SMALL, I'M SURE PARTS OF THAT DASH WILL GO FLYING AND HURT THE DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER. I ALSO DON'T KNOW HOW SAFELY CONTAINED MY DASH-AIRBAG IS. MY SPEAKER AND GPS ARE ALSO ON THAT DASH AND ARE NO LONGER INSTALLED WHERE THEY SHOULD BE CAUSING MORE PROBLEMS IN THEIR NEW LOCATIONS WHICH COULD RESULT IN SOMETHING ELSE NOT FUNCTIONING LIKE IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE. I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLES WITH REGULAR TUNEUPS AND REPLACEMENTS WHERE NEEDED. THIS IS BEYOND MY CONTROL AND IS A SERIOUS FLAW IN THIS VEHICLE.
