- Summary: Purchased my 2024 GV80 3.5t in June of 2024 and have been experiencing intermittent issues with the acceleration. Car hesitates when accelerating and can causing accidents while at an intersection making a turn. I have bought the car into the dealership three times, and they are unable to reproduce. Unfortunately, after reading the complaints and symptoms of the fuel pump recall for the 2021-2023 this issue seems identical. I have reach out to Genesis Corporate and they are no help and don't return calls or emails for days.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-24
- VIN: KMUHCESC3RU
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE
- Summary: Total battery system failure to where vehicle would not start/restart, or if started via jumping, would stall out shortly thereafter. Battery problem to point to where jump starting is difficult due to shorted battery lowering availalble power to start/restart engine. This could have caused unexpected removal of power from the vehcile during traveling or in unsafe areas. This appears to be a very common problem with this vehicle as seen on various online forums and lack of part (battery) availability.

- Summary: After 3 weeks of sitting idle, the car door had trouble to open. We changed the key batteries but didn’t fix the issue. The next day, car door opened without issue and the car was fine to drive. The 3rd day, the car went dead with no response to the key. The 4th day it came back to live again. However, the car went completely stalled during driving. The engine stopped and no lights or electricity can be turned on. After 15 seconds, the car restarted by itself. I sent the car to dealership but they cannot find any issue.

- VIN: KMUHCESC4RU

- Summary: Defective software issue that has not been corrected since owner took possession of vehicle. Customer/Client is told to deal with the Engineering dept. at Genesis Corporate and it is out of the hands of the dealer. The software effects a lot of moving parts and safety features within vehicle, I feel the vehicle cannot be trusted. No one follows up from dealer to National Customer Service for the brand. They need accountability immediately.

For over a week now, my display has been constantly updating. I have been in touch with tech support every day, and while they have assured me that their engineers are working on a solution, nothing has been fixed yet. It's been a frustrating experience, especially since I have no access to radio, navigation, Bluetooth, media, or cameras. I purchased this vehicle just 4 months ago, and I was hoping for a better experience. I'm sure they want to make it right, and I hope they can do so soon.

The navigation system requires attention as it is currently not functioning. Additionally, the outside mirrors intermittently require manual extension. Despite these issues, I am confident in the quality of the vehicle and its capabilities. I purchased it from Tuttle Click Hyundai in Irvine, Ca.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my 2023 Genesis GV80 SUV. Unfortunately, it was rear-ended in December of 2023 and has been at Gerber Collision and Auto Glass repair shop since then. While it's been a bit of an inconvenience for me and my family, we do receive updates every Tuesday and Thursday regarding the status of the parts. I do wish I had known about the potential for a longer repair time before purchasing the car, but overall it's a great car. Thank you for listening!

Although I love the car, I must say that the design of the door compartment is not very practical. It seems that only the genesis 12 oz slim bottle of water that they gave us at the dealership fits properly. Unfortunately, anything else that is placed in the compartment lays partially on its side. This could be improved in future models.

When I first received this car as a rental, I was excited to try out an SUV again for my grandkids after driving electric and hydrogen cars for the past few years. I was pleased to see that it was a Hyundai, a brand that I love and trust. The car itself is very comfortable and spacious, making it perfect for carrying both kids and cargo. However, I did have some issues with the car. The four-cylinder turbo engine was quite noisy and underpowered, which was disappointing. Additionally, the navigation system and voice recognition were not up to par. My biggest concern, however, was with the safety systems. They were overly sensitive and twice put me in a dangerous situation when I was trying to accelerate into traffic. Despite these issues, I still appreciate the comfort and space that the car provides, but I would not recommend spending extra money on it.
