The Ford Mustang Mach-E is a battery electric compact crossover SUV produced by Ford. The vehicle was introduced on November 17, 2019, and went on sale in December 2020 as a 2021 model. The vehicle is in the Mustang series, with model name Mach-E inspired by the Mach 1 variant of the first-generation Mustang. The car won the 2021 North American SUV of the Year Award.

Overview

During development, the Mustang Mach-E was originally teased as the Ford Mach 1, but was retracted after strong public opposition, with Ford CEO Jim Farley describing the name tease as an evaluation.

The Mach-E has buttons that open the doors, and a small door handle protruding from the front doors, instead of door handles. Smartphones, or a keypad built into the B-pillar, can be used as a key.

The interior has a wide dashboard and built-in soundbar; the dash is equipped with a vertically mounted 15.5 in (39 cm) touchscreen infotainment system fitted with a rotary dial. The majority of the car's systems are controlled through the screen, which uses Ford's recent SYNC 4 operating system, updatable wirelessly. There is a 10.2 in (26 cm) digital cluster for the driver, and the steering wheel has several physical buttons.

The Mustang Mach-E uses the Global Electrified 1 (GE1) platform, which is a heavily reworked version of the C2 platform shared with the fourth generation Focus and third generation Kuga/fourth generation Escape. It offers a traditional cargo area at the rear offering a volume of 29 cu ft (821 L), and a 4.8 cu ft (136 L) waterproof trunk under the hood and can be charged by a home AC charger or by DC fast chargers at up to 150 kW.

Common 2023 Ford Mustang mach e problems

The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E has been reported to have several common issues based on complaints from owners.

Another issue reported by owners is related to Android Auto, which can close and restart constantly, making it difficult to use.

The parking sensors in the front and rear of the car have also been reported to malfunction, making it difficult to park accurately. This can be a significant safety concern, as it may make it harder for drivers to avoid collisions when parking.

The driver side window has been reported to automatically go all the way down when it's supposed to go up, requiring the driver to wait until it's all the way down before they can raise it again. This can be an inconvenience, especially in cold or rainy weather.

The door button on the driver's side has also been reported to be unresponsive at times, requiring the driver to press it multiple times before the door will open. This can be a safety concern, as it may make it difficult for the driver to exit the vehicle quickly in an emergency.

It's worth noting that some of these issues may be related to software problems, and Ford has issued updates to address some of these concerns. However, it's unclear if these updates have fully resolved all of the issues reported by owners.

In summary, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E has been reported to have several common issues, including electrical problems, issues with Android Auto, malfunctioning parking sensors, unresponsive window and door buttons, and other electrical glitches. Negative 2023 Ford Mustang mach e car reviews

  1. Abel Blick 2024-09-08

This car has been plagued with electronic problems and defective seatbelts, making it an unreliable choice. From loud clunking noises in the drivetrain to strange tones going off in the car while driving, it is clear that this car has not lived up to its promises. The Ford pass app constantly reports issues, which is concerning. It is best to avoid this car at all costs.

  2. Robert Thompson 2024-07-24

That car is fast and looks good. The sound system is decent and it has a beautiful glass roof, but it comes at an extra cost of $1500. Unfortunately, the GT with Performance package is currently priced at around $70k, and finding an honest car sales agent is rare. The delivery fee is also higher than usual, ranging from $1100 to $1400, which is non-negotiable. The interior of the car is not up to par, with cheap-feeling steering wheel and unattractive seats. Despite the tax incentive, the monthly payment at 5% interest is still high. The advertised 276 miles of range is only attainable if you drive conservatively. The car is overpriced and not worth more than 57-62k for the GT PERFORMANCE model plus the incentive. While it is a Mustang, paying more just for the emblem is not worth it.The Tesla Model Y is a great car overall. It has a higher range and better quality batteries, giving you more range. Although it may not look as good from the outside 🤷🏻‍♂️, it's still a fantastic car. I think the MACH E base models should be priced at around 50k and the GT should come with the performance package included at around 58k - 62k, PLUS incentives. It might be worth waiting a few months to see how the interior holds up. The range changes abruptly, but it's still a powerful car. Who needs 500 horsepower anyway? If that's the case, you might as well get an ICE vehicle and wait for battery technology to improve. I'm not a fan of the BMW I4 or the ix4's kidney grills, but that's just my personal preference. Sorry, Mustang enthusiasts, but I think the hype is overrated - don't be fooled.

  3. Jerel Gutkowski 2024-07-09

The car is really fun to drive, but it can only go 135 miles on a single charge. However, Ford has promised that it will improve, so let's wait and see!

  4. Tremayne Carter 2024-03-13

Hey there! If you're considering buying a car, I would suggest looking into other options besides Ford. I had a bad experience with their service and the car itself wasn't very reliable. The high voltage battery had some issues and it caused the car to stop suddenly on the freeway, which was pretty scary. Just wanted to give you a heads up!

  5. Demetrius Kunde 2024-01-21

I have the Prem Trim AWD Ext Battery 91kwh version. Although my experience with the Ford Dealer was not great, I ended up with the Ford due to 0% financing which was a great deal. The car is fun to drive and the seats are comfy. However, there are a few areas that could be improved such as the glitchy software and the low resolution of the big screen. The b&o sound system could also be better. Despite these issues, I am enjoying my Mach E. It's worth noting that my friend also has a Mach E and experienced a paint issue, but Ford is working to address it. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend the Mach E to others.

Positive 2023 Ford Mustang mach e car reviews

  1. Christopher Turcotte 2024-11-27

Sweet ride. You've got a great mix of sporty and SUV.

  2. Kameron Cremin 2024-11-12

Owning an EV is a fantastic way to travel! The cost savings compared to gas are amazing.

  3. Skylar Langosh 2024-10-21

I recently had to replace my beloved car, which was a fast manual station wagon. Unfortunately, it seems that no one makes them anymore, at least not within my price range. After searching for a while, I decided to move into the 21st century and get a car that could carry two full hockey bags while still being fun to drive. The Mach-e has been a great choice for me, as one-foot driving is just as rewarding as using a clutch, and the aggressive regen setup makes it easy to bleed speed to set up for the next corner. Even though I have the slowest of all Mach-e models, it is still quicker than my old Saab, thanks to the immediate torque at all speeds. While Ford prevents max acceleration for longer than 5 seconds to preserve engine life, the car is still plenty fast for everyday use. I was hesitant to go with Tesla, as their first-principles car-focused design leaves out the consumer when it comes to autobody repair or maintenance. Additionally, Tesla owners sign up to beta test their products for free, which isn't for me. I've had no issues with the Mach-e, except for a parking sensor that went offline after an update, but that will be fixed during regular service. I've even taken it on road trips and up forest service roads without any problems. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and have found that my trips of up to ~450 miles per day are identical one-stop trips in an EV as they are in an ICE.

  4. Hazel Graham 2024-10-19

I have owned my 2023 red Mach E Mustang for nearly a year and I must say, I am extremely satisfied with its performance, style, reliability, and safety features. I even took it on a long cross country trip from Fort Lauderdale to Washington DC and it performed flawlessly. Since I mainly work remotely, I usually charge it at home and it's been a breeze. Overall, I think it's a fantastic SUV and Ford has really outdone themselves with this one. I highly recommend it!

  5. Jeffery Mraz 2024-09-29

I'm so glad to hear that you love the style of this car and how it drives. The fact that it's all electric and doesn't require gas anymore is definitely a plus! Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us.
