- Summary: Got an "Steering Assist Fault" indication on my dash and I can no longer turn my steering wheel. This is a well documented recall with older models but mine was not included in the recall. I've taken it to the local dealer and been told it will require replacement of the entire assembly. Older online reports said this was a $2,200 repair. I was just quoted $2,900 by the dealer. This is outrageous. Ford should not be allowed to get away with this. They positioned the electric steering motor (with enclosed electronics) next to the exhaust manifold. The electronics can't handle the heat being so close even with the stupid heat shield between the two. The recall should be extended to all Ford vehicles that use this technology.

- Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles, free of charge. The recall began on December 15, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14C11.

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with this car. I purchased it used with 44k miles and now it has 119k, but I've never had to replace anything mechanical. It's unbelievably durable! The only downside is the small trunk due to the battery. Thanks for reading!

My car lost power on the freeway while I was driving in the car pool lane with no shoulder. Although I had plenty of gas, it did not switch over. The dealer updated the modules, but unfortunately, there seems to be a recurring problem with the modules on this car. I have had to update them numerous times for everything from the windows not working properly to not switching over to gas power and time of use charging option. Unfortunately, I am no longer under warranty due to the mileage and am being charged to update modules that seem to malfunction randomly. It's frustrating to think that this car could end up costing me a small fortune just in updates. I hope the dealer can find a more permanent solution to this issue.

Although some people seem to love the Ford Fusion, I have had a very different experience with it. In my opinion, the car is too heavy and lacks sufficient storage space. Additionally, the cup holders are poorly placed and the sound system and heating/cooling controls are not user-friendly. The electric charge on my Ford Fusion has decreased significantly, making it not worth charging at all. Furthermore, the car is expensive to repair and often requires multiple visits to the mechanic. Unfortunately, I have had a number of negative experiences with this vehicle. However, I understand that everyone has different preferences when it comes to cars and I respect those who enjoy driving a Ford Fusion.

For the most part, it's a good car. Although, there are a few things that could be improved. Unfortunately, it's not possible to recharge in the rain without damaging the power inlet door. Additionally, the garage door opener doesn't seem to work and the cruise control can be dangerous in the rain at dusk. Lastly, the navigation system only works in the state where the car was purchased. Despite these issues, I still appreciate the car and its features.
