In hybrid operation (charge-sustaining mode), the Energi has a combined fuel economy of 38 mpg‑US (6.2 L/100 km; 46 mpg‑imp).
The Fusion Hybrid has won the 2010 North American Car of the Year Award, and the entire 2013 Ford Fusion line-up, including the Fusion hybrid and plug-in variants, won the 2013 Green Car of the Year. As of December 2016, over 285,000 units of the Fusion hybrid family have been sold in the United States since 2009, including the plug-in hybrid variant. As of December 2016, sales of the Fusion Energi totaled 43,327 units delivered in its main market, the U.S.

Let car cool, then drove city streets and took car to an independent auto repair shop. They read the engine and it had error code P0304. Shop bore scoped into cylinder 4 and found engine coolant. Took to dealer to confirm, they did find that engine coolant was leaking into cylinder 4 and recommended replacing engine long block assembly for $9.25k.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles: Electrolyte spillage and electrical shock protection."
- Consequence: Potential contact with high voltage sources increases the risk of injury.

- Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured July 27, 2013, to October 31, 2014, 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicles manufactured February 24, 2014, to October 31, 2014, and 2015 Ford Fusion Energi vehicles manufactured July 14, 2014, to October 31, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the key may be able to be removed even while the transmission is not in Park. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
- Consequence: If the key can be removed despite that the transmission is not in Park, a driver may think the vehicle is safety parked, when it is not, increasing the risk of a vehicle rollaway that could cause the vehicle to strike and injure the driver, other vehicle occupants, or bystanders.
- Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles, free of charge. The recall began on December 15, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14C11.

The instrument control of the Ford vehicle is known to be overly complicated and not intuitive, which can be a bit frustrating. However, the ride is considerably more comfortable than its competitors, making it a great choice for those who prioritize comfort. While the trunk space may not be the best, the value is relative and the out of door price varies. Personally, I got a great deal on my Ford vehicle. Additionally, the Fusion Energi has a 'low profile' lifestyle appearance, which I find appealing. Although the green element is limited due to its 20 miles of electric range, it still has the best range in its segment. Overall, I chose the Ford Fusion Energi because I didn't want to pay the high price of a Tesla or sacrifice ride comfort with a Chevy Volt.

I leased a 2013 Titanium Fusion Energi mainly because of its fuel economy during a time when gas prices were high. Despite a few recalls and one significant engine failure, I was happy with the car's performance. The dealership always provided me with a loaner and never charged me for repairs. Unfortunately, my driving habits often took me beyond the 20-mile range, but over the course of three years, I averaged about 64 mpg overall - not too shabby regardless of the fuel cost. As I have some environmentally conscious children, the plug-in hybrid kept me in their good graces. The only downside for me was the small trunk that couldn't even hold a set of golf clubs. However, I got used to using the back seat, which was okay once I adjusted. The interior is a bit tight, but very comfortable. I'm not a fan of Ford Sync, but I don't use a lot of technology while driving anyway. Despite the few negatives, when my lease came up, I opted for another Fusion Energi - this time a nice metallic white 2016 Energi Luxury SE with most of the options. I would have bought out the 2013 car, but the residual value was way too high. The new lease has a much better buyout number when the lease expires. With over $10,000 in rebates, the price was acceptable, so I'm thrilled to keep plugging in every time I pull into my driveway. As an Energi driver, I'm very satisfied!

I have been driving my Fusion Energi for almost 110,000 miles and it has been trouble-free. The car still looks and runs great, and I plan to hold onto it for a while longer. As I approach 100,000 miles, I have only had to change the oil and air filters twice. I am still averaging over 85 mpg and the car is as quiet as ever. Although I miss having a trunk and sometimes wonder if I should have gone with the CMAX energi, I am happy with my Fusion. It has been a great car and has never let me down. Even with over 89,000 miles on the clock, the car is still performing well. I still wish that Ford would reconsider their plan to stop building cars, as I believe there are other consumers like me who prefer passenger cars over gas-guzzling SUVs. However, I am considering an all-electric car to replace my Fusion Energi and am waiting for them to become more available in my area. I still love my Fusion Energi and its luxurious features, such as the real leather seating. It has been a great alternative to the Prius Prime, which I could not find at an affordable price. Overall, I am very satisfied with my Fusion Energi and would highly recommend it to others.I love your radio! Also, I noticed that people don't seem to have a problem with you or honk at you when you're driving below 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, which used to happen to me a lot when I drove my Prius. Honestly, both cars are great, and we still have our Prius. It's currently driving my son to college, and with only 145,000 miles on it, I think he'll probably have it for his entire four years there. However, if you're looking for a fantastic plug-in alternative with twice the luxury for a lower price, then the Fusion Energi is definitely the car for you. I charge it at home, and we get to charge it for free at work. Right now, I'm averaging 160 mpg, and I only have to fill up about once a month when I get down to 1/4 of a tank. My commute to work is about 33 miles, so I only burn gas for about 7 miles each way. We also use it whenever the family goes out, and it's been perfect so far. The only thing that slightly disappoints me about Ford is that I just heard they may discontinue production of this car in the US. I can't help but wonder why, especially since they seem to have hit a home run with it.

I recently purchased a car and I absolutely love it! I'm getting over 600 miles per tank, which is fantastic. While the 2017 Fusion Energi Platinum is a great upgrade from my previous 2008 Honda Accord EX-L with Navigation, there are a few minor things that I hope Ford can address. For example, the antenna could use an update - most new cars have a sleek shark fin antenna, but this one doesn't. Additionally, the SiriusXM radio system loses its signal more frequently in blind spots compared to my old Accord's SiriusXM radio system, which is almost a decade old. The navigation's layout for when heading to a destination could be smoother, especially compared to Honda's. Lastly, the Navigation's address book could use some improvement. There's only one folder to save addresses instead of two, the saved entries can't be alphabetized, and there's a limit of 45 addresses that can be saved. As someone who uses their car for work, this limit is quite restrictive. I hope Ford can address these minor issues, but overall I'm very happy with my purchase!

The Ford Energi is a great car! Although it has a small luggage compartment, it is perfect for my 20-mile commute to work. I use the hybrid mode to get to work and electric mode to return home, and I am amazed that I still have just under three quarters of a tank of petrol left after two weeks of driving. The interior is loaded with extras and is much nicer than any other hybrid on the market. The full electric mode is also great! The only downside is that the battery life is a little short, lasting only 20 miles per charge. Overall, I am very happy with my Ford Energi and I am averaging right around 50 mpg. It's definitely worth the money!

The car had to be towed back to the dealership twice within a 3-month period due to a completely dead 12v battery. The first time, the dealership fixed it and attributed the issue to a software problem. However, the second time, the issue still persists and the car is still at the dealership. Despite attempting to jump-start the battery, the rear trunk remains inaccessible and the electronic transmission is locked. Additionally, the doors are locked and can only be accessed using the emergency key, which presents another challenge. With only a few months left on the lease and 14k miles on the car, any further issues with the battery will result in the Lemon Law in California being invoked. It is regrettable that the next person who purchases this car will have to deal with these issues.

My car lost power on the freeway while I was driving in the car pool lane with no shoulder. Although I had plenty of gas, it did not switch over. The dealer updated the modules, but unfortunately, there seems to be a recurring problem with the modules on this car. I have had to update them numerous times for everything from the windows not working properly to not switching over to gas power and time of use charging option. Unfortunately, I am no longer under warranty due to the mileage and am being charged to update modules that seem to malfunction randomly. It's frustrating to think that this car could end up costing me a small fortune just in updates. I hope the dealer can find a more permanent solution to this issue.

So I have had this car for about 2 years now. I must have a serious Lemon considering all the great reviews. My Fusion has had one electrical failure after another. Over two years the car has sat in service more days than I have been able to drive it. IF the car worked, it could be great. It is very comfortable and has an excellent ride. However there is NO TRUNK for those who actually would use such a thing. The battery pack takes up the full space, so you can fit about a rolled Yoga mat and a few bags of groceries in the trunk, then everything else will be in the back seat space. I really want to love this car, but considering all the major mechanical failures, I can only say I am very lucky I leased and did not buy.

My car lost power on the freeway while I was driving in the car pool lane with no shoulder. Although I had plenty of gas, it did not switch over. The dealer updated the modules, but unfortunately, there seems to be a recurring problem with the modules on this car. I have had to update them numerous times for everything from the windows not working properly to not switching over to gas power and time of use charging option. Unfortunately, I am no longer under warranty due to the mileage and am being charged to update modules that seem to malfunction randomly. It's frustrating to think that this car could end up costing me a small fortune just in updates. I hope the dealer can find a more permanent solution to this issue.

I waited to purchase the 2017 model to take advantage of the latest technology, but unfortunately, I have been disappointed with the navigation system. Despite paying $700 for it, the system has been unable to locate major interstate exits, such as those on Highway 5 that runs from Canada to Mexico. Despite contacting Ford, they have refused to provide any assistance. In comparison, free alternatives such as Waze and Android Auto have proven to be more reliable and efficient. The navigation system has also been unable to recognize voice commands and has lost important downloads and contacts. It has been frustrating to use, and I have been unable to uninstall it. I would not recommend purchasing this system, even if it is offered at a lower price. Additionally, it has been interfering with my use of Android Auto, which has been a source of constant frustration.
