ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-01
- VIN: 3FA6P0HD7HR

- Summary: My vehicle 2017 Ford Fusion has a chronic condition. The coolant comes into the engine and causes an engine misfire, which is a very serious problem. The 21n12 customer satisfaction program has already come out, but I bought this car secondhand and it's already out of all conditions. I'm wondering why this issue is not a recall. Many owners of the same car are complaining of the problem and this is a serious life-threatening defect. I think you should include this in the recall right away.

- VIN: 3FA6P0H95HR
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: My car has been misfiring on the 4th cylinder for since the end of 2023. The first time, I was told that I needed a tune up, I did that. Months later another misfire, said I needed to change the ignition coil, did that. Then I was out of town and it misfired again. My spark plug was changed and I was able to return home. This last time [XXX], it showed another cylinder and crankshaft. I took to dealership and was initially told that I needed a tune up and had swollen lug nuts. Advised I had a tune up at 37,000 miles and car only has approximately 48,000 miles. I then requested car be tested for coolant intrusion. The test was done and a cylinders scoped and was told Yes, that is the case. Now Ford wants me to pay $9,000+ for engine replacement. They state that my VIN is not included in the Customer Satisfaction Program. But this is a known fact to them and are not willing to absorb any of the cost. There is a program for the 1.5 but was told there is no program for 2.0 liter engine which I do not understand if it is the same engine defect. ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-29
- VIN: 3FA6P0HD0HR
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: There was coolant intrusion into my engine which caused the engine to start seizing and misfiring and it also rusted a spark plug into cylinder #4. From my research this seems to be a known and common issue with EcoBoost Ford Fusions (I have a 2017 Ford Fusion 1.5L EcoBoost). This issue apparently can also cause fires and I'm lucky that it didn't happen to me. The Peacock Ford Service Center in Maitland, Florida confirmed to me that this is a known issue. The engine has been inspected by a Firestone as well as the Ford Service Center that i previously mentioned. The only symptom of the failure was the check engine light coming on but the only reason it came on was because the engine started misfiring.

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-17
- VIN: 3FA6P0HD4HR
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: My car developed a miss in the engine that continued to get worse. It was inspected at the dealership, Key Scales Ford, in Leesburg, Florida. The check engine light was on and the car showed a code of PO303, misfire in #3 cylinder. It was determined that there was a crack in the block and coolant was entering #3 cylinder. The approximate costs to replace the engine were over $10,000 and the car had a trade-in value of approximately $9,000 so repair out of my pocket was not a smart option. Through research of my own I learned of NHTSA action which had led to a Ford Technical Service Bulletin TSB 21-2134. I contacted the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program and was told my VIN was not included under the TSB, even though it had the exact same problem. Ford refused to participate in any type of resolution despite this being a well-known problem with the 1.5-liter Ecoboost engines. This type of engine failure could lead to being stranded at any time so driving the car further was not a good idea. There was 55,912 miles on this car and the original brake pads outlived the engine. These engines are known to be defective and a problem.
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-21
- VIN: 3FA6P0T93HR
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: My 2017 Ford Fusion started with a grumble, saw white smoke exhaust. Drove about 6 miles turned off car, restarted the car and the engine light came on. Brought the car a week later to Dons Ford, they diagnosed a coil issue caused the engine light being on. Roughly a $700.00 repair. Few days later engine light came back on. Took it back to the dealer, they said they probably didn't reset the computer, so the computer thinks it still has a problem. They checked and rechecked my issue. This car has been a gem, 69,000 miles. Bought the car because I buy American made, my son worked in Detroit for Ford. Engine light came back on about 5 days later. Diagnoses, you need a new engine. $9,000. They say my car can catch on fire, but the dealer said I can drive it. There is more I could say but that's for a different agency.

I never thought I would buy a Ford, having always driven Toyotas and Hondas. However, after reading Consumer Reports' increasing praise for Ford, I decided to give it a try. I purchased all the options, primarily because I hate plate covers where buttons should be, taunting with features that might have been. First and foremost, the fuel economy is incredible. I live exactly 20 miles away from work and am able to charge at both work and home. The Fusion makes it round trip on electric alone. Sometimes it gets up to 24 mile range, if in traffic. Sometimes it's closer to 17, like when the a/c is on. I last filled up about 4 weeks ago, driven about 400 miles since, and still have a full tank. On hybrid mode, without plugging in, the mpg is around 40-50. Still not too bad for a large sedan. The battery takes up a lot of room though. I can fit one suitcase in the trunk, one on the back seat and still have room for Captain Henry Gingersnaps Pomeranian carrier in the other half of the back seat. I went with the Fusion because it was by far more comfortable than the Camry or Prius hybrids. It's very sophisticated inside, with nice materials that fit together very well. They got a serious design master who thoughtfully crafted every part of this car inside and out. It just looks absolutely incredible, and before purchasing I often mistook the Fusion for an Aston Martin. Everything is where you would expect it, so operating all the functions is immediately familiar. I even found the computer system easy to use, and love that there are still real buttons for most used features of the air and radio. This was a huge deal for me, coming from a 2012 Honda with the worst, most antiquated system ever. A few of the Fusion's more advanced features take a bit more practice, but once you get the hang of them, they're great. The lane keep system may not work perfectly, but overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. The car is great at reminding you to keep your hands on the wheel, which is a nice feature. However, if you let go, the car will quickly steer you into the next lane, which can be a bit alarming. It's especially helpful for those who have a light grip. Additionally, the car is very vocal about taking breaks, and it's usually right. When the driver alert starts flashing, it's a good time to take a break. I personally enjoy taking breaks anyway. The radar cruise control is really nice to use, but it can be finicky at times. For example, if a car pulls into your lane on the freeway, the Fusion will continue to accelerate until the other vehicle is directly in front of you. Sometimes, it even starts flashing the emergency brake red lights at you while it's still speeding up! However, most of the time it works decently well and is very convenient. Overall, I am incredibly happy with my new Ford Fusion.

Smooth ride! Great on gas! Beautiful interior and trim. (I get a lot of compliments). Trunk is small, but you can still fit a carry-on luggage, a large suitcase, and a backpack in the trunk for airport travel. I really hope Ford reconsiders and continues to manufacture this car. It's definitely a home run!

We recently decided to transition to a one-car family due to the increasing expenses of owning two cars. As we both wanted to opt for an eco-friendly option, we began our search for a suitable replacement. After much research, we came across the Energi and decided to give it a try. While I had clear expectations, my wife was more flexible. We took the car for a AAA Pre-Purchase Inspection and went on two one-day test drives from the dealership before finally purchasing it with 82,000 miles on it. And we're so glad we did! The car is an absolute joy to drive - it's solid, quiet, and incredibly comfortable. As both of us have had back surgeries, the comfort of the seats is a huge plus for us. We've already put almost 200 miles on it and despite the 20 mile EV range, the gas tank needle barely seems to move. We're thrilled with our purchase and can't recommend this vehicle enough!

We purchased this car brand new in February 2016 and it has been a fantastic ride ever since. The interior quality is top-notch and we got a great deal on it, paying only $29,000 after a $4,000 federal tax credit and a sales tax exemption for electric and plug-in vehicles under $35,000 in Washington State. This is a significant saving compared to gas-only luxury sedans that would have cost us over $40,000. While the trunk space is a bit small, it still fits our groceries and carry-on luggage for two people. We used to get 15 to 22 miles in EV mode, which was better in the summer months, but now it's down to about 10 miles. However, over the 8 years we've owned the car, we've averaged an impressive 75 MPG. We've had a couple of repairs, including a new throttle body and a new engine off pump for the transmission, which cost around $1600 each. While this is a bit higher than the repair costs for our previous Acuras, the car is still in excellent shape with only 55,000 miles on it. We're now debating whether to replace the motor drive battery pack for $7,500 or buy a newer car that's 1 to 4 years old. While I'm leaning towards replacing the battery pack, my wife is considering a newer car. We'll miss the convenience of only having to go to the gas station once every 4 to 6 weeks, but we're excited to see what the future holds.

I downsized from an SUV to get better gas mileage and I was really pleased. I get about 20 electric miles and then 50 mph in hybrid mode after that. For the first 3 months I owned the car I only had to fill up once!

I waited to purchase the 2017 model to take advantage of the latest technology, but unfortunately, I have been disappointed with the navigation system. Despite paying $700 for it, the system has been unable to locate major interstate exits, such as those on Highway 5 that runs from Canada to Mexico. Despite contacting Ford, they have refused to provide any assistance. In comparison, free alternatives such as Waze and Android Auto have proven to be more reliable and efficient. The navigation system has also been unable to recognize voice commands and has lost important downloads and contacts. It has been frustrating to use, and I have been unable to uninstall it. I would not recommend purchasing this system, even if it is offered at a lower price. Additionally, it has been interfering with my use of Android Auto, which has been a source of constant frustration.

I've owned this car for a year and a half now. I purchased it used and it was in good condition. While there are a few things that have been bothering me enough to consider trading it in, I wanted to share my thoughts in this review. Firstly, the trunk space is quite limited due to the hybrid battery taking up most of the space. Secondly, the buttons for the gas and electric ports are in an awkward spot and are quite sensitive, which can be frustrating. Thirdly, the electric plug-in feature doesn't perform well in the winter and the car struggles in the snow due to its low ground clearance. However, the car has good acceleration and the leather seats are comfortable with decent leg room. It's important to note that the car doesn't come with a tire changing kit, which could be problematic for those living in rural areas. Overall, I would recommend this car for city commuting in the summer, as it has excellent fuel mileage. However, it may not be suitable for those who require more trunk space or live in areas with harsh winters.

I purchased this car brand new in 2017 and it has been a great driving experience. However, after 5 years, the battery capacity has decreased to 50%. While this may seem concerning, it is important to note that this is a normal occurrence with electric vehicles. It is not comparable to a gas car losing half of its fuel efficiency over time. It is also worth noting that the warranty covers total failure. Overall, I am confident in the capabilities of electric vehicles and would consider purchasing one again in the future.

Although my experience with this car started off great, unfortunately, the center console navigation system malfunctioned, causing issues with the rear view camera, Bluetooth, AC unit, radio, and other electrical components. Despite my efforts to have it repaired, the dealership was unable to fix the problem, leaving my car in the shop for three weeks. While I cannot recommend this car due to my negative experience, I would suggest considering a Hyundai or Kia, as they have excellent warranty plans. I found Ford Corporate and finance to be unhelpful in resolving the issue, likely due to the fact that electric vehicles require specialized technicians. As a result, I am a very frustrated and unhappy customer.
