- Summary: I bought the car 2 weeks ago with 105k miles on it. The car has died approximately 20 times in the last 2 weeks while I am driving it. It is so insanely dangerous, you will be going down a busy street and the car completely dies without warning. There is no dash lights on, no warning. The power steering goes. It's an accident waiting to happen, it’s unacceptable. After spending 2k at the mechanic and still the same problem. They have now told me I need the TIPM replaced at the dealership. Which also affects the lights, which are erratic, they come on or come off when they want, along with the horn. It’s also pushes the motors into limp mode so it runs really hard over 20 miles an hour even while idle. The car will also die while in idle/park or when you shift gears. The car is basically an all day event to start and if you get it to stay on, if you are able to get it, don’t touch the key or it will automatically the car off. The TIPM system will also stay on, even while car is off causing your battery to drain.

Tendency of driver to over-react or over-steer and under-steer and control car safely to side of road during heavy traffic, WITH NO FUNCTIONING SIGNAL LIGHTS, makes lane changing at high risk of major accident. According to similar reports found on Internet for same model year vehicle, others have reported similar cases of defective ignition switch in steering column, and is a safety hazard and should be recalled and replaced, and should include 2012 year models. While I was able to barely avoid an accident, only means that I was an exception to the rule.

The safety hazard could be FATAL to the driver and whomever may rear-end the vehicle due it shutting off and loosing power steering and the brakes. This vehicle is currently at the dealership for the second time. They say that they cannot find the problem. I looked online for fixes and found HUNDREDS of complaints of the same issue for this same vehicle with no fix due to everyone being told they cannot find the problem. This could be FATAL!

To attempt to remedy the issue, the following have been replaced or inspected: thermostat, thermostat housing, radiator, hoses, water pump, oil filter adaptor/coolant bypass, fan, wiring and other associated electrical components. There were no warning lamps or other symptoms of the problem prior to the system failure. Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. I have attempted contacting Chrysler several times and have been given the run-around regarding a safety recall that matches the symptoms, year, make, and model of my vehicle and have been told that my vehicle's VIN is not part of the recall and that there is no way to get it evaluated and added to the recall. I am unable to upload the repair invoices I have amassed so far with this issue at this time, but can furnish them at a later date if required.

Then we bypassed the regulator and now thr is nothing in the entire van works intact when u try put the charger on it, which the battery indicator says fully charged the whole fuel box vibrates and shakes. But thr is absolutely no power inside the vehicle thr is definitely without a doughty something wrong with the vehicles entire fusebox. This is very odd and not normal The entire brain of this vehicle is a problem. I have had a problem with this lemon since I bought it I have had it sitting more then driving spent more money on it then I. Able to use it something is definitely wrong with this vehicle.

- Summary: I guess started with noticing oil being used at a faster pace then normal then a decent tick began along with AbS light which prevented cruise control from working. At this point We seemed Professional advice from a licensed Mechanic who then preformed a small job of dropping transmission pan to clean metal shavings out! And replacing tires and brake pads assured us routers were fine. He was concerned with the fact that the abs light continued to be on so we the paid to get wiring for abs redone (not sure what was called). After this the cruise control worked abs went off but we noticed the brake pads went quick! Then the insane knock out of nowhere began loud metal on metal had harmonic balancer pulley replaced didn’t do it any good. The. Was told cracked fly wheel was most likely the problem I continued to drive for about a month when the brake fluid light came on. I added fluid but every 3-4 days it came on again and of course brake pads again but this time the extremely loud knock went away and all was left was a quiet tick. That lasted couple months the out of no where wiring started shorting in dash and radio display. This lead to battery issues then out of no where motor is stuck in first gear and will not shift up but will shift between drive neutral and reverse. Idles extremely rough when in drive lights do not dim I had alternator checked. Now my family of six is with out a vehicle thank you for hearing my concerns

- Consequence: Unexpected deployment of the driver's frontal air bag increases the risk of a crash or driver injury.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the air bag wiring within the steering wheel, replacing it if necessary. A protective cover will also be installed. I don't know why people complain about this van. Ours has 54,000 miles and we have never had a single problem besides the brakes squealing. We put better quality rotors on it and they have not squealed since. It has plenty of power and we think it's very comfortable. All around, it's a great van!

I bought this van 2 months ago and it has been fantastic so far. Although I never thought I would own a van at the age of 29, it was necessary with the kids and the dog. The van looks great, both inside and out, and is definitely better than other minivans in its class. We test drove the Dodge, Toyota, and Honda minivans, and didn't notice much of a difference in ride quality. However, the Toyota may have been a little smoother, but that could be because I read the reviews ahead of time and expected it. This van is amazing, and a comparable Honda or Toyota with all the same features would cost about $7K or $8K more (the Toyota salesman acknowledged that).

I just bought a 2012 Crew in Black. It has so many features and great details! How awesome is the sliding door windows rolling down like a car? Satellite radio free for a year, cool! All power, including the 2 rear doors. And my wife swore she would never drive a van, but I bought this for her and she willingly traded in her SUV.

We recently needed to replace our old 2002 Caravan with a new car since we have four drivers in the household. Although our kids are grown and we no longer require extra seating, we had a fantastic experience with our previous Caravan. I have become accustomed to the utility and cargo space of a minivan, so we decided to go for another Caravan. Fortunately, we found a great car with low mileage that was exceptionally clean and reasonably priced. While it may not be the most stylish vehicle on the road, it is incredibly practical and an excellent choice for my daughters to use for work. Additionally, it provides me with a vehicle that I can use to transport lumber and supplies for my weekend DIY projects.

I purchased my 2012 Grand Caravan with just over 100k miles on it. It was a great van for the first year I owned it, taking me from Ohio to Gatlinburg and back with no issues. However, after the first year, I experienced some problems. The rear brakes failed and I had to replace the rotors, pads, and calipers. Additionally, the alternator failed and the engine developed a ticking sound. Although the alternator had been replaced twice by the previous owner, I had to replace it again just six months after purchasing the vehicle. I also had to replace the front calipers, rotors, and pads. The TIPM started to fail as well, and the fuel pump relay went bad. Although a new TIPM would have cost me $1200, I was able to bypass it. Unfortunately, at 146k miles, the engine blew. Despite regular oil changes and no visible oil leaks, the core design was faulty. I have decided not to purchase another Chrysler vehicle.

I recently rented a car for 8 days and drove 1500 miles. Unfortunately, the car I received did not meet my expectations. Compared to my 1993 Chevy Lumina APV anteater, this car was extremely poor in many respects. The transmission was constantly in the wrong gear and would not downshift when trying to accelerate, causing the car to jerk and suddenly shift 3 gears, overrevving the engine. Additionally, the throttle response was jerky, causing the tires to chirp at any sharp intersection, even at slow speeds. To make matters worse, the instrument panel lights were misleading, making me think the headlights were on when they were not. Although there was an 'Econ' button, I could never tell what it did since it did not seem to affect the car's performance. Lastly, the button to turn off stability control was located at the bottom right of the instrument panel, making it easily accessible to children. Overall, I was disappointed with the car I rented.

I had a bit of trouble with my 2012 Grand Caravan, as the transmission was leaking fluid. Despite having it towed back to the dealer twice, they were unable to find the source of the problem. After suggesting adding fluid, Mike called back and informed me that the pump and axle seals were leaking. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done due to running the transmission dry. While Chrysler's Limited Warranty only covered the cost of replacing the seals, fluid, and labor, I am still left with an unreliable vehicle that poses a safety hazard. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone concerned with safety.

Hey there! If you're considering buying this car, I just wanted to give you a heads up. It might not be the best fit for everyone, as it requires using both feet to operate the accelerator and brake. The brake pedal is about 1 inch closer to the driver than the accelerator pedal, which can be a bit annoying. Additionally, the headrests in the third row seating can significantly obscure the view out of the rear view mirror, and the automatic shift selector is in a pretty awkward place. Just thought you should know!
