The Dodge Dynasty is a mid-size four-door sedan that was marketed by the Dodge division of Chrysler Corporation from 1988 until 1993 model years. Serving as the direct successor of the Dodge 600 sedan, the Dynasty was slotted between the Dodge Spirit and Dodge Monaco in the Dodge sedan line.

One of the largest Chrysler K-car variants, the Dynasty used the front-wheel drive Chrysler C/AC platform, sharing its body with the 1988–1993 Chrysler New Yorker. The 1990 through 1993 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue and Chrysler Imperial share the platform with the Dynasty/New Yorker, but use an extended-wheelbase chassis, denoted the Chrysler Y platform (the longest-wheelbase sedan variant of the K-car).

Chrysler assembled the Dodge Dynasty at its Belvidere Assembly Plant facility (Belvidere, Illinois) alongside the Chrysler New Yorker, New Yorker Fifth Avenue, and Imperial. The final vehicle was produced on May 28, 1993. For the 1993 model year, Dodge introduced the Dodge Intrepid as its largest sedan line, replacing both the Dynasty and the Monaco.

Common 1995 Dodge Dynasty problems

The Dodge Dynasty, introduced in 1988, was a mid-size sedan that shared its platform with the Chrysler New Yorker and Chrysler Fifth Avenue. While the Dynasty was generally considered a reliable vehicle, there were some common problems reported by owners.

One common issue with the Dodge Dynasty, particularly the 1992 model with a 3.3L V6 engine, is a rough idle and sputtering during acceleration, especially when the weather gets warmer. This problem can be caused by a variety of factors, including fuel injectors, spark plugs, or sensors. In some cases, the check engine light may not come on, making it more difficult to diagnose the problem.

Another issue reported by Dodge Dynasty owners is a stalling engine shortly after starting the car. This problem can be caused by a bad sensor that disrupts the engine's fuel or ignition system. In one reported case, this problem occurred in a 1995 Dodge Dynasty with around 125,000 miles, and was resolved by replacing the faulty sensor.

While the Dodge Dynasty was known for its smooth and efficient 3.3L V6 engine, some owners reported issues with the engine's performance. For example, one owner reported that the engine would struggle to accelerate, especially on hills or when merging onto highways.

In addition to engine problems, some Dodge Dynasty owners reported issues with the car's electrical system. For example, one owner reported that the car's battery would die if the interior light was left on.

Overall, the Dodge Dynasty was a reliable and well-regarded vehicle, with many owners reporting few or no problems during their ownership. However, like any car, the Dynasty was not immune to mechanical or electrical issues, particularly as the vehicle aged and accumulated miles.
