The Dodge Dynasty is a mid-size four-door sedan that was marketed by the Dodge division of Chrysler Corporation from 1988 until 1993 model years. Serving as the direct successor of the Dodge 600 sedan, the Dynasty was slotted between the Dodge Spirit and Dodge Monaco in the Dodge sedan line.
One of the largest Chrysler K-car variants, the Dynasty used the front-wheel drive Chrysler C/AC platform, sharing its body with the 1988–1993 Chrysler New Yorker. The 1990 through 1993 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue and Chrysler Imperial share the platform with the Dynasty/New Yorker, but use an extended-wheelbase chassis, denoted the Chrysler Y platform (the longest-wheelbase sedan variant of the K-car).
Chrysler assembled the Dodge Dynasty at its Belvidere Assembly Plant facility (Belvidere, Illinois) alongside the Chrysler New Yorker, New Yorker Fifth Avenue, and Imperial. The final vehicle was produced on May 28, 1993. For the 1993 model year, Dodge introduced the Dodge Intrepid as its largest sedan line, replacing both the Dynasty and the Monaco.

MY MECHANIC CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE HOW MUCH THEY COST AND THIS U-SHAPED ALUMINUM TUBING ABOUT 14" LONG ,8" CONNECTING TUBE WHERE IT IS LEAKING FROM TO ANOTHER PIECE OF ALUMINUM 14" TUBING THAT GOES UNDERNEATH THE MANIFOLD IS $300.00 AND $150 TO INSTALL IT. I THINK IT IS A FACTORY DEFECT THAT THE MANUFACTURING DEALER IS GOUGING ALMOST PUNISHING THEM FOR NEEDING THE PART BY CHARGING 3XS WHAT THE PIPING/TUBING REALLY SHOULD COST. MY MECHANIC AND I HAVE BEEN ALL OVER THE WEB LOOKING FOR THE SAME PART BUT ALL OF THEM SAY ITS A DISCONTINUED PARTS AND CAN ONLY BE BOUGHT BY THE DEALERSHIP. THIS FAILURE WAS ROUTINE WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN THROUGH POOLED WATER EXCEEDING 1/2 INCH. THE UPPER ALTERNATOR BRACKET WAS FOUND TO HAVE SUFFERED FATIGUE CRACKS AND THE ALTERNATOR MOUNTING BOLT WAS NOT HELD RIGID. SPLASHED WATER CAUSES THE BELT TO SLIP-CATCH THUS DISPLACING THE POSITION OF THE ALTERNATOR PULLEY, AND THE BELT IS THROWN OFF THE PULLEYS. THIS WAS THE LAST OF MANY INCIDENTS (APPROXIMATELY 10 OTHER TIMES) WHERE THE BELT WAS THROWN DRIVING ON WET ROADS. (THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT SPLASH SHIELD IS IN PLACE.) THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING IN A TURN IS CONSIDERED TO BE AN EXTREME HAZARD (OCCURRED SIX TIMES.) THE ENGINE IS THE 3.3 LITER V6 WHICH WAS USED EXTENSIVELY IN MANY CHRYSLER VEHICLES IN THIS ERA, AND AGING MAY AFFECT MANY OTHERS. IT DID CAUSE THE SERPINTINE BELT TO COME OFF OF ALL THE PULLIES OF THE MOTOR. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME, AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE SEPT. 2006. HEN THE VEHICLE WAS AT MY HOME I FINISHED REMOVING THE PULLEY THAT WAS LOOSE, CAUSING IT TO BENT ENOUGH TO THROW IT TOTALLY OFF OF ITS TENSION PURPOSE. UPON REMOVAL A BOLT WAS ALSO BROKEN WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED THE TOTAL PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WAS NOT TIGHTENED TO TORQUE SPECS. HAD TO REPLACE BOTH PARTS ATTACHED TO THIS PULLEY.*AK

I bought the car with 29000 miles on it and now it has over 90000. I have had no problems other than normal maintenance. I would buy another at any time because the reliability has been 100%! There were a few squeaks and rattles at 15 miles, but nothing turning the radio up a little wouldn't cover.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with the car I purchased from a Nissan dealership. They told me that an older couple had traded it in and it had 101,000 miles on it. After taking it home and changing the oil, I noticed a valve tap sound. It seems that the dealer had put something in it to cover it up. Unfortunately, the odometer later broke and the transmission started shifting hard. I also had some trouble starting it at times. Despite these glitches, the car was still able to take me anywhere I needed to go.

I was given this car when I was 16 and drove it until I was 20, when it was unfortunately stolen. As another reviewer mentioned, this car seems to be a target for thieves. However, I was fortunate enough to recover it and got it back after a month. It's amazing that it's still running today! This car is great - it's very durable and can take a lot of abuse. It's also inexpensive to maintain and extremely reliable. If you're on a budget, I highly recommend it! It was perfect for me when I was just learning to drive. I'm so glad I found this car.

This car has been a reliable commuter for me, with only routine repairs needed. Although there is some rust on the hood and roof after 5 years of ownership, it has not affected the car's performance. The only downside for me was the lack of lumbar support, which caused occasional stiffness in my hips. However, with a lumbar pillow, it was not a big issue. The car had good pickup until the transmission started slipping in its last year of ownership. While it did have some issues, it lasted through a few road trips without any problems. The tires did wear quickly and I went through 4 batteries, but overall it was a pretty affordable and reliable car. Towards the end of its life, it did need to be jumped if it sat for longer than 3 days. Don't let my experience scare you, though - I had this car for a long time and it served me well!

Although the car may not have been the most visually appealing, it did serve its purpose and ran decently with the 'beefy' 3.3 engine. However, it is worth noting that the transmission did go out at 115,000 miles, which seems to be a common issue with this model. My father-in-law has also experienced this problem with all four of his cars, even with higher mileage. It's something to keep in mind when considering this model.

Hi there! I work at a car dealership and recently got my hands on this amazing car. It looks like new and only has 44,000 miles on it! I've driven it for 10 miles and I'm already impressed with the fuel economy. It gets 20MPG in town and 28 on the road, thanks to the 3.3 engine. The A/C was blowing warm, but I managed to fix it with just one can of R-12 coolant. Now it's blowing cold air, which is a lifesaver in this Las Vegas heat! While it may not be a sports car, it definitely has that classic boxy look that we all love. Plus, it's been super reliable so far.
