The Dodge Dynasty is a mid-size four-door sedan that was marketed by the Dodge division of Chrysler Corporation from 1988 until 1993 model years. Serving as the direct successor of the Dodge 600 sedan, the Dynasty was slotted between the Dodge Spirit and Dodge Monaco in the Dodge sedan line.
One of the largest Chrysler K-car variants, the Dynasty used the front-wheel drive Chrysler C/AC platform, sharing its body with the 1988–1993 Chrysler New Yorker. The 1990 through 1993 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue and Chrysler Imperial share the platform with the Dynasty/New Yorker, but use an extended-wheelbase chassis, denoted the Chrysler Y platform (the longest-wheelbase sedan variant of the K-car).
Chrysler assembled the Dodge Dynasty at its Belvidere Assembly Plant facility (Belvidere, Illinois) alongside the Chrysler New Yorker, New Yorker Fifth Avenue, and Imperial. The final vehicle was produced on May 28, 1993. For the 1993 model year, Dodge introduced the Dodge Intrepid as its largest sedan line, replacing both the Dynasty and the Monaco.

I WAS USING THE AIR CONDITIONER OFF AND ON SO AS NOT TO HAVE THE WINDOWS OPEN. WE REACHED THE CREST AND WHEN STARTING DOWN, THE ENGINE DIED WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS RELEASED AND BRAKES APPLIED, AND THE POWER STEERING STOPPED. I MANAGED TO BREAK TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS TOWED TO TOWN. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN THE MECHANIC'S OPENED, THEY STARTED THE CAR AND IT DIDN'T FAIL AFTER 20 MILES OF DRIVING THE SAME TERRAIN, AND WE RETURNED HOME (90 MILES OR SO) WITHOUT A PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL PREVIOUS OCCASIONS, INTERMITTENTLY, MONTHS MAY GO BY, THEN WITHOUT WARNING, USUALLY WHEN REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE GAS, THE CAR LOSES POWER AND DIES. IT HAS ALWAYS STARTED UP AGAIN IMMEDIATELY EXCEPT FOR THE LATEST INCIDENT. THE FORMER OWNER OF THIS CAR SAID THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO HIM. You've had this car for almost a year now, and it's still in great shape! The only issues are some oxidization on the hood, top of the car, and trunk lid. Despite having 166000 miles, it still runs like it's brand new and has awesome power for a V6. The interior is very roomy and comfortable for everyone, both in the front and back. Overall, it's a very nice car!

I bought the car with 29000 miles on it and now it has over 90000. I have had no problems other than normal maintenance. I would buy another at any time because the reliability has been 100%! There were a few squeaks and rattles at 15 miles, but nothing turning the radio up a little wouldn't cover.

Your old Dynasty sounds like a great car! It's amazing that it has been running well for so long, even after replacing the transmission. With basic maintenance and a few upgrades, it seems like it's still in great shape. It's impressive that it has great gas mileage and runs smoothly. You must be proud to own such a reliable car at such a young age!

I was given this car when I was 16 and drove it until I was 20, when it was unfortunately stolen. As another reviewer mentioned, this car seems to be a target for thieves. However, I was fortunate enough to recover it and got it back after a month. It's amazing that it's still running today! This car is great - it's very durable and can take a lot of abuse. It's also inexpensive to maintain and extremely reliable. If you're on a budget, I highly recommend it! It was perfect for me when I was just learning to drive. I'm so glad I found this car.

Hi there! I work at a car dealership and recently got my hands on this amazing car. It looks like new and only has 44,000 miles on it! I've driven it for 10 miles and I'm already impressed with the fuel economy. It gets 20MPG in town and 28 on the road, thanks to the 3.3 engine. The A/C was blowing warm, but I managed to fix it with just one can of R-12 coolant. Now it's blowing cold air, which is a lifesaver in this Las Vegas heat! While it may not be a sports car, it definitely has that classic boxy look that we all love. Plus, it's been super reliable so far. I've seen newer and supposedly 'better' cars on tow trucks, but this one has never let me down. Thanks for considering it!

Despite the recent transmission issue, I have been thoroughly enjoying my 91 dynasty. It has been a reliable car, starting up without fail until now. I have decided to have a used transmission installed and am confident that it will restore the car to its former glory. Although the odometer broke at 47,000 k, I have found the bench seats to be quite comfortable. While they may not be as ergonomic as their Japanese counterparts, they still provide a pleasant driving experience. Additionally, the car boasts a reasonably powerful engine. Overall, I am pleased with my 91 dynasty and look forward to many more enjoyable drives.

The car was purchased after we had sold a Neon that we had won. We had the Dynasty for under 2 years. We changed the transmission once and decided to let it go after it went bad for the second time. We also replaced the belt and everything else in the engine. The car had very comfortable seats, but the suspension was a bit too soft.

Although the car may not have been the most visually appealing, it did serve its purpose and ran decently with the 'beefy' 3.3 engine. However, it is worth noting that the transmission did go out at 115,000 miles, which seems to be a common issue with this model. My father-in-law has also experienced this problem with all four of his cars, even with higher mileage. It's something to keep in mind when considering this model.
