2020 Dodge Challenger problems
The Dodge Challenger is the name of three different generations of automobiles produced by American automobile manufacturer Dodge. However, the first use of the Challenger name by Dodge was in 1959 for marketing a "value version" of the full-sized Coronet Silver Challenger.
From model years 1970 to 1974, the first generation Dodge Challenger pony car was built using the Chrysler E platform in hardtop and convertible body styles sharing major components with the Plymouth Barracuda.
The second generation, from model years 1978 to 1983, was a badge engineered Mitsubishi Galant Lambda / Sapporo, a coupe version of an economical compact car.
The third and current generation is a full-size muscle car that was introduced in early 2008 originally as a rival to the evolved fifth generation Ford Mustang and the fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro.
In November 2021, Stellantis announced that 2023 model year would be the final model year for both the LD Dodge Charger and LA Dodge Challenger, as the company will focus its future plans on electric vehicles rather than fossil fuel powered vehicles, due to tougher emissions standards required by the Environmental Protection Agency for the 2023 model year. Challenger production ended on December 22, 2023, and the Brampton, Ontario assembly plant will be re-tooled to assemble an electrified successor.

Common 2020 Dodge Challenger problems
Based on complaints from owners of the Dodge Challenger 2020, several common problems have been reported:
- Frozen Stereo System: Some owners have experienced a frozen stereo system within the first 5,000 miles. Software updates are available to enhance the stereo system's reliability, with most dealers providing free installation of these updates.
- Excessive Noise from Front Wheels: Around 20,000 miles, owners have noted excessive noise from the front wheels due to quicker wear of wheel bearings compared to other cars. Replacing the bearings costs approximately $450, depending on local labor rates.
- Recall for Windshield Bonding: There is a recall for windshield bonding, which may come loose. Dodge offers to install a new windshield sealant on affected models for free.
These issues, although reported by owners, are not major and can be addressed through software updates or replacements. Regular maintenance and addressing these problems promptly can help ensure the longevity and performance of the Dodge Challenger 2020 model.

Two weeks ago, I drove six hours to California to test drive a Challenger that was advertised on autotrader.com for $18,600. Unfortunately, my experience in Hemet was terribly unprofessional. However, I can tell you what this car is not. It is not a V6 Camaro with a much nicer interior, nor is it a VW GTI minus 85 horsepower, but with a fantastic fit/finish interior. It is also not a Mustang, which is a perfectly designed car. What it does have is a strong engine, but not much else. The exterior styling is extremely plain and simple, and the interior looks like it was designed by a blind 13-year-old. The doors are made of cheap plastic, as is everything else, and the seats are laughable at best. The dashboard sits too high and is too long, and the center console looks like it was pulled from the 1980s. Obviously, this car is a cash cow, and some people who don't expect better are willing to throw money at it. Personally, I just don't get it. In my opinion, it is in dire need of an extreme makeover inside and out. I have decided to save my money and go buy a 2021 Mazda 3 turbo with 250 horsepower and all-wheel drive for snow.

The interior looks like it was designed on a budget, especially considering the technological advancements we have today. It's surprising that AI hasn't been utilized for better design.
Armando Macejkovic 2024-02-12
For 80 to 90 grand, it should be better than all the rest. However, not many can afford it. I bet it will pass everything but a gas station. So, us average folks will have to settle for the Camaro and Mustang, and be happy with that. I can live with that. I have owned five Camaros and loved every one of them. I drove one to work, then swapped gears on Friday night and raced all weekend. No MOPAR touched her. All cars are different, it's just a matter of preference.
