- Summary: I'm driving along, cruise set to 65. Ac on. Radio on. No sounds or weird feels from the car. Every light on the dash comes on. They went off after two seconds, with the seatbelt light being last to shut off. Then the car hits 113k miles about ten miles later and just... shuts off. All gauges drop to zero. Ac shuts off. Radio still playing. Full tank of gas. Headlights still on, brakes worked, power steering worked, and emergency flashers worked. I managed to get out of traffic and pull over without causing an accident. I turn the radio off and turn the key off for a few minutes. It cranked right back up and ran a little rough for a moment before smoothing out. I drove home without incident, but kept the radio and cruise off. And stayed under 65. Thankfully, traffic was light. The car has not been fixed as of this posting, nor has it been seen by anyone due to the weekend. Unsure of when I can get it fixed due to finances, but if this happens in heavy traffic or on one of many roads with no shoulder, lives will be at risk.

WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL GOES OFF, THE HEADLIGHT COMES BACK ON. I HAVE SEEN THIS IN A JEEP COMPASS AND A CHRYSLER 300, ALSO. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM.

- Summary: THE HORN DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND IS DEFECTED. IT ONLY WORKS WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL TURNS TO THE LEFT AND SOMETIMES IT GETS STUCK AND WON'T TURN OFF. WON'T WORK WHILE TRAVELING STRAIGHT OR TURNING RIGHT. THE HORN DID NOT ALLOW ME TO WARN A DRIVER THAT ALMOST BACKED INTO ME, THIS FORCED ME TO MOVE AWAY FROM HIM IN AN UNSAFE POSITION AND HE STILL DID NOT SEE ME AND KEPT ON BACKING OUT. HAD THE HORN WORKED IT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS ISSUE THAT ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I DROVE HOME TO INSPECT THE HORN AS TO WHY IT WASN'T WORKING IS WHEN I LEARNED THAT IT ONLY WORKED WHILE SITTING STILL AND TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT AND AT TIMES IT STUCK AND WOULDN'T TURN OFF. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG IT HAS BEEN LIKE THIS BECAUSE I DON'T USE IT VERY OFTEN, UNTIL THIS PARTICULAR INCIDENT HAPPENED. ALSO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SHOWS TO BE OFF WITH AIR BAG LIGHT ON.

WHEN YOU PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR IT STARTS AND THIS MAY HAPPEN AGAIN FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD OR MAY NOT HAPPEN AGAIN FOR A FEW WEEKS. THIS HAPPENS BOTH ON CITY STREETS AND ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY AND FOR OVER A YEAR. THE LAST TIME I WAS IN FOR MAINTENANCE IT HAPPENED JUST AS I PULLED INTO THE DEALERSHIP, YET WHEN THE CODE SCAN WAS USED NO PROBLEMS WERE INDICATED. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY IF THAT HASN'T HAPPENED ALREADY. SINCE WE HAVE NO OTHER VEHICLE WE MUST USE THIS CAR. I HAVE BEEN ASKING ONLINE IF ANY OTHER CRUISER OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM BUT NO ONE HAS BEEN FORTHCOMING WITH A SOLUTION. I ALSO NOTED SOME CRUISER OWNERS ARE TALKING ABOUT STARTING A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GO THAT ROUTE IF I DON'T HAVE TO. I JUST WANT MY CRUISER FIXED.

I purchased my '07 Cruiser touring edition in 2007 and I really enjoy many of its features. These include the old-fashioned look of a 1940s car, the dashboard features such as the outside temperature, compass, average miles per gallon, and miles until empty, as well as the good CD player, air conditioning and heating system. The unique 'handle bar' on the passenger side is a nice touch, and the middle console is well thought out with three cup holders and middle storage with a sliding armrest. The ride is smooth, the brakes are good, and the gas pedal is easy to use. The back seats fold down and can be removed for plenty of cargo room, and the stylish interior made of textured material feels more upscale than what you actually pay for it. I highly recommend this car to those who appreciate the old style of cars and want something that looks nice without paying a lot.

I bought this car for its looks and as an affordable mode of transportation. While I am satisfied with its appearance and spaciousness, I am disappointed with its gas mileage. During a 2100 mile trip, I only averaged 27 miles per gallon, which was lower than expected for a 4 cylinder car. Additionally, the horn has a tendency to stick, even after being repaired under warranty. Although this seems to be a common issue, I am willing to overlook it. All things considered, I would still consider purchasing another one of these cars.

I bought this car as a cheap commuter, and it has exceeded my expectations. It was the only new car I could find for under twelve thousand that met my needs, and it has been working great for my job, averaging a smooth 30 mpg. What's more, it comes with a lifetime powertrain warranty, which gives me peace of mind. I would definitely buy another one without hesitation.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this purchase. Despite only having it for a few months, my engine light has already turned on and the car has started bucking, preventing me from driving over 30 mph. After researching the issue, I have discovered that this is a common problem (as stated on another site). Although the dealer is unable to see me today, I expect a prompt resolution to this issue. Given the significant amount of money I have invested in this car, experiencing such problems in such a short amount of time is unacceptable. I am confident that the dealer will take the necessary steps to rectify this situation.

Although this car had some issues, it provided ample interior space and was able to transport a lot of items. The gas mileage could have been better, but overall it was a decent vehicle. It's unfortunate that the value depreciated so quickly, but that doesn't detract from the positive aspects of the car.

Hi there! I've been driving my 2007 Pacific Coast Highway Edition PT Cruiser for almost a year now. It has a manual transmission and a 2.4-liter engine (non-turbo), and I must say, it gets up and scoots pretty well! However, I did notice that it seems to be geared pretty low for what I had expected. It would've been nice if it were offered with a 6-speed though. I do a lot of highway driving and average only 26 mpg. How about you?

I purchased this vehicle second-hand with low mileage. While it has served as adequate transportation, it has required several expensive repairs, such as the AC fan and fuel injectors, both at 40,000 miles. As expected, the gas mileage and performance are not exceptional. However, it does offer ample space, which is impressive considering its price point of $11,000.

The car looked nice and had some power, but unfortunately, I only owned it for a year. I bought it used from a dealer and spent $3500.00 on repairs. I bought the car AS IS and knew it needed rear shocks and tires, but after getting home, I discovered that it needed new wiper blades all around, the plugs had never been changed, and the plug wires needed to be replaced. There was no filter in the cabin air compartment, so I put one in. When I changed the oil, the oil filter was on very tight, and I had to run a screwdriver through it and pound it off. The oil drain plug was also too tight, and I had to beat it loose. The rubber seal on the plug was gone. I thought the oil leak on the valve cover needed a new gasket, but it turned out to be a leak lower on the motor, and the head gasket needed to be replaced. I detailed the car myself, and it looked very good. The outside cleaned up well. I was the 5th owner, and the car had 82,000 miles on it at that time. After selling the car this month (August), I would not own one again.

I needed to get a car to tow behind my RV and thought about offsetting the gas with a smaller car. As a big guy, I was surprised by the lack of room in some of these small cars. It felt like they were designed by the same person who came up with airplane seats! However, when I got into the PT Cruiser, I liked it right away. It was very comfortable and had a smooth ride. Although the gas mileage wasn't the best, all things considered, I now wish I had gotten one with more bells and whistles. I think the next one will be even better.
