Chevrolet Uplander problems
The Chevrolet Uplander is a minivan manufactured and marketed by the Chevrolet division of General Motors for model years of 2005–2009, replacing the Venture and the Astro. Marketed over a single generation, the Uplander was offered in short and long wheelbase variations — each with foldable and removable second and third row seating; a V-6 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission.
Heavily based on GM's predecessor minivans, the Uplander was initially marketed with those vehicles, the Venture and Astro. The minivan and its rebadged variants, the Saturn Relay, Buick Terraza, and Pontiac Montana SV6, were manufactured at GM's Doraville Assembly and were discontinued in 2008 when GM left the minivan market, ended production and closed the Doraville Assembly plant.
The Uplander was marketed in the United States, Canada, Chile, Mexico, and the Middle East.

I must say, I am quite impressed with the luxurious interior of our fully loaded LT. While the exterior may be a bit unusual, it is still quite tolerable. As for performance, I think it's a bit of a stretch to describe any mini-van as 'fun to drive', unless of course, you haven't driven anything else. However, my van does accelerate well and provides reliable safety, which is exactly why I purchased it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trading in my Benz for another van...

I recently experienced an issue with my 2-day-old van where the defrost blower stopped working on the coldest night of the year. However, the dealer was very helpful and took care of the issue by providing me with a rental. I did notice that the passenger door and fender don't fit perfectly at the windshield, with a big gap on one side and no gap on the other. The dealer is currently looking into whether this can be fixed. I have also noticed a rough idle sometimes with a gentle surge when I have a foot on the brake. Overall, I appreciate the dealer's assistance and hope to have these issues resolved soon.

The wheel bearing has been replaced five times since October and another replacement is needed. Additionally, there are transmission issues. It is worth noting that this is a 2006 Pontiac Montana, which is the same as the Uplander.

The first new car we bought was always bought used. Unfortunately, we had problems with this van from day one. It seems that Chevy has a persistent issue with the electrical system in this van, but they are not willing to acknowledge it. Despite being in the shop three times for the same problem with the gas gauge, it was not fixed until recently. Even after that, we had to take it back to the shop for another electrical problem. I noticed a few things that could be improved with this van. Firstly, it would be great if it had more power to merge onto the highway more quickly. Additionally, the captain chairs could benefit from having armrests and more room from the edge of the seat to the side wall. I also found it a bit tricky to direct the air vents to blow directly on the driver. When it comes to the third row bench, it would be helpful if it could stow away more easily or be removed and put back in without too much difficulty. As a woman, I found it almost impossible to do it alone. Lastly, I found that there wasn't enough room behind the third row for all of my groceries and I had to stack them on the third row seat. I also noticed that there were quite a few blind spots, especially for short drivers and when the third row seats are up. This alone has caused me to have a few close calls on the road. Lastly, I did experience some issues with the DVD player skipping on our last trip, even with a new DVD in it.

We're sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing with your '05 Uplander. It sounds like the outside trim has been causing some trouble, even after being replaced twice. Additionally, you mentioned a loud rattle sound under the dash and the airbag needing to be tightened. We understand how frustrating this must be. If you're ever in the market for a new vehicle, we would recommend considering the Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
