For the 1995 model year, the Tahoe and Yukon gained a new, longer four-door model, slotting in size between the two-door models and the longer-wheelbase Chevrolet/GMC Suburbans.
The Tahoe is sold in North America, parts of Asia such as the Philippines, and the Middle East, plus other countries including Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Angola as a left-hand-drive vehicle. The Yukon is only sold in North America and the Middle East.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon are part of General Motors' full-size SUV family and are differentiated from the similar Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL primarily by the length of the passenger and cargo area behind the C-pillar. - Summary: The vehicle randomly loses or gains power while driving. All of the auto locks go up and down, while the cluster goes in and out with very high rpms and then completely loses power in the middle of the road. Or this happens and the steering gets very tough. It is very dangerous because there are times where it happens on the highway while doing up to 80mph. It also happens when sitting at line to pick up my child in pre-k. If it were to jump and the brakes weren’t hit fast enough it could really cause a horrible and possibly deadly situation. I have done everything that I can on my end with this truck. I recently replaced the battery and replaced the master fuse since reading it was the cause. That lasted for a week. I have read hundreds of owners with the same problems that have went to private owned mechanic shops along with gm certified mechanic shops. They have yet to find an answer to this possibly deadly malfunction. There are posts and websites all over sharing other owners with the same problems and all of their stories end the same. That gm along with any mechanic used has yet to find any results to this. I noticed that the 2015 model has a recall for this problem but doesn’t describe what is being done to fix the actual problem. It has the same engine and setup as far as I can see so I wonder why there isn’t a recall for the 2010. I have two school age children that have to be brought to and picked up from school daily. If you look up this problem online you will find endless stories and questions about the issue at hand. Most people end up spending thousands of dollars trying to fix the problem on new batteries, cables, starters, etc. However, they all end up with the problem being unresolved with all of that unnecessary debt. This is a very serious manner and I feel that it’s only a matter of time before lives are lost over this. Additionally, GM is recalling certain 2009 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, and Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Silverado 2500/3500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Sierra 2500/3500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming or "Zone C."
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator with an alternate one, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on February 24, 2021. Second notification letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 11, 2021. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006; Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020; and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212328790.

Previous owner of a Toyota and BMW.. I'm happy to be back in an American vehicle. They have really improved. The Tahoe is an excellent Grand SUV, from the inside to the outside. I appreciate the quality and workmanship. The great electronics keep you updated on the vehicle performance. The only downside is the MPG, which is 14-17, but using regular fuel is helpful in that respect.

Good suspension, good appearance, very smooth ride. The 5.3 liter engine is a plus, and the lights at night are good. The interior is great, and it's perfect for a family with three kids. It seats nine, and offers the most room for the price, short of a Suburban. For a great experience, get a Tahoe - it's the best made.

Hi there! I wanted to share that I purchased my Tahoe LT 2009 (white) on January 24th, 2009. I really appreciate the spaciousness and the great top view that comes with the SUV design. However, I did notice that the door rubber seals could use some improvement. When I open the driver door, I can see that the welding pocket on both the left and right bumpers (front and down) are not very well sealed, which can lead to dirty and wet materials getting stuck inside. I think it would be helpful to add a protection screen for the tires to prevent any splashing and protect the SUV on both sides. Thanks for listening!

It's time to get a new vehicle for towing. After searching for a while, I found that the GM Tahoe/Yukon was the only vehicle that could replace my fully loaded Astro. I picked the Tahoe for its better looks. The ride is nice and smooth, but I feel the jolts over potholes, maybe because of the 20-inch wheels. On average, I got 20 mpg from NY to VA. The transmission and rear end were thumping when starting to descend on downhill and letting go of gas, but the dealer reprogrammed the transmission module and it seems to have fixed the problem. The door molding began slightly peeling, but the dealer replaced it and now it looks like new. Overall, I really enjoy the ride. I prefer my Garmin GPS over the GM GPS and will use it to tow my boat on a regular basis from NY to FL. This is a good SUV for people who need towing, and it gets the same mpg as my Astro.

This is our 3rd Tahoe and it's the best family car we've ever had! It's so comfortable and quiet, and we're getting 19 to 20 miles per gallon when we use cruise control and drive sensibly. The fuel management system is really helpful for saving gas, and it runs on regular fuel. The controls are easy to use, and we love the memory seats and dual zone heating and cooling. Both my wife and I are really comfortable in it!

My 2010 Tahoe began experiencing issues at just 3500 miles. Despite having 100 malfunction codes, Alexandria Chevy initially denied any problems. Despite returning the vehicle multiple times, the dealership has been unable to resolve the issues. The car has experienced a range of problems, including issues with the oil pressure gauge, dash, doors, radio, and brakes. As the car only has 9000 miles on it, I am confident that these issues are not due to normal wear and tear.

Driving would be so much better if it didn't stall in the middle of the highway or road. I understand that there are others who have experienced this issue and it can be frustrating. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer for assistance?

Although we were excited about our new Chevy Yukon, it has unfortunately not met our expectations. While my wife enjoys the size and ride, we have been loyal Suburban owners for the past 20 years. The biggest disappointment has been the fuel mileage, which has not exceeded 14mpg whether on the highway or in town. Our old Suburban got 17-18mpg on the road. Additionally, the performance has not been what we expected. The engine has died in the middle of a turn and there seems to be a small miss when slowing for a turn and then accelerating. Unexpectedly, there is no storage under the seats or anywhere else. All in all, we feel that for the money, a Lexus, BMW, or MB may have been a better choice.

I purchased a Tahoe on February 13, 2010, but it immediately developed a vibration that made driving uncomfortable. Despite the dealer having it more than me, the problem remains unresolved. However, I am confident that the issue will be resolved soon and I will be able to enjoy my Tahoe to the fullest. While I had considered purchasing a Nissan Pathfinder, I am glad that I chose the Tahoe and I am confident that it will provide me with a great driving experience.
