The Chevrolet Spark (Korean: 쉐보레 스파크) is a city car manufactured by General Motors's subsidiary GM Korea from 1998 to 2022. The vehicle was developed by Daewoo and introduced in 1998 as the Daewoo Matiz (Korean: 대우 마티즈). A limited-production all-electric version, the Chevrolet Spark EV, was released in the U.S. in selected markets in California and Oregon in June 2013. The Spark EV was the first all-electric passenger car marketed by General Motors since the EV1 was discontinued in 1999, and also the first offered for retail sale by GM (the EV1 was available only on lease).
In the South Korean market, the Spark complies with South Korean "light car" (Korean: 경차, romanized: Gyeongcha) regulations, which regulate overall vehicle dimensions and engine capacity with tax and parking fee benefits.
Production of the Spark at the Changwon, South Korea assembly plant ended in 2022. The plant would instead produce the second-generation Trax.

THE CAR JUST CAN'T DECIDE WHAT IS THE BEST GEAR TO BE IN. I FEEL THAT THIS IS DANGEROUS. I'VE NEVER HAD A CAR WITH DRUM BRAKES MAKING THIS SOUND.

I HAVE THE LT1 MODEL SPECIFICALLY.

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with my Spark LS manual transmission that I bought brand new in 2017. I've driven it for 40,000 miles and it has been exceptionally reliable. I noticed that some people have complained about the reliability of this car, but I think they might have been looking for a more expensive car and were disappointed. I belong to a Spark FaceBook page and a courier service is on our page. They buy new Sparks for courier duty and have put 200,000+ miles on each one with bulletproof track records. This is an astoundingly great car for the price. I paid $10,000 OTD brand new for mine! It's super fun to drive, has great fit and finish, great driving dynamics, and had been perfectly reliable. I couldn't ask for more!

I've been driving my 2017 Chevy Daewoo Spark since October 2016, and it's been a great experience. With 56K on the clock, my LS manual base model in bright RED is very agile on the street and has good acceleration with the 5 spd. If you keep the revs up, it will reward you with very decent acceleration and it's a lot of fun! I've been using it for commuting and it has great gas mileage (4.5L/100 km) even at highway speeds. I haven't had any problems with it, and have only needed oil changes from the dealership. It's not a true 4 seater, but what subcompact is? It does have decent style, a wonderful infotainment system, and can park anywhere. With the back-up camera, it's easy peasy to get into tight spaces. The TPMS and Bluetooth are great features, especially considering the sticker price of 9999. If you get the manual, you also have a theft device built in LOL...and more fun! I'd definitely buy one again, and have even thought about getting a new one with AC and Power Windows...but I want a manual LT which is hard to find :( If you get one, you won't regret it!

I have had my car for 15 months now, bought it brand new, and unfortunately, I have had some issues with it. The vacuum pump, CV joint, and alternator or starter have all needed attention. Additionally, my front automatic windows no longer work, and I have had trouble with the headlights. Despite these challenges, I am determined to find the right parts to fix my car and keep it running smoothly. I appreciate your understanding and support as I work through these issues.

I purchased a brand new 2017 Chevy Spark, but unfortunately, I experienced some issues with it. The brain and transmission went out, and there were also some recalls on the airbag and back up screen. Recently, the transmission has been making a strange noise, and there is some hesitation when taking off from a complete stop. Despite taking it to the dealership multiple times, the issue persists. I am disappointed with the situation, as I believe a car should not have these problems. I have read other reviews with similar issues. I am considering my options, such as speaking to the owner of the car lot or seeking legal advice, but I hope to resolve this matter with GM soon. My brother recently bought my mom a new car, a Spark. He wanted to make sure she was safe and secure, but unfortunately, the car has been giving her some trouble. It keeps turning off unexpectedly, even on the highway. She's taken it to the dealer, but they haven't been able to find the problem. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this car.
