The Chevrolet Van or Chevy Van (also known as the Chevrolet/GMC G-series vans and GMC Vandura) is a range of vans that was manufactured by General Motors from the 1964 to 1996 model years. Introduced as the successor for the rear-engine Corvair Corvan/Greenbrier, the model line also replaced the panel van configuration of the Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle was sold both in passenger van and cargo van configurations as well as a cutaway van chassis that served as the basis for a variety of custom applications.

Produced across three generations (1964–66, 1967–70, and 1970–96), the model line was sold under a wide variety of model names under both the Chevrolet and GMC brands. The first two generations were forward control vehicles (with the engine placed between the seats); the third generation adopted a configuration placing the engine forward of the driver. The second and third generations shared powertrain commonality with the C/K pickup truck model line.

After the 1996 model year, GM retired the G-Series vans, replacing them with the GMT600-platform Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana.

Common 1995 Chevrolet G35 problems

The Chevrolet G35, also known as the Infiniti G35, is a popular vehicle known for its performance and reliability. However, like any other vehicle, it can develop problems as it ages. Here are some of the most common problems with the Chevrolet G35, based on complaints from owners:

  1. Faulty interior accessories: Many owners of the 2003 Infiniti G35 have reported issues with their car radio and CD player. In some cases, this issue starts out with a faulty car radio followed by the inability to control the cabin's temperature and fan speed. This problem can be resolved by replacing faulty accessories with new ones.
  2. Malfunctioning crankshaft angle sensor or camshaft position sensor: A number of Infiniti G35 vehicles released from 2003-2008 were reported to have a malfunctioning crankshaft angle sensor or camshaft position sensor. This can cause a noticeable loss of engine power along with serious drivability issues. Nissan issued a recall for some of the affected model years, and dealers may replace the faulty part along with your variable timing control sensor depending on your sedan's model year.
  3. PCM failure symptoms: The powertrain control module (PCM) is responsible for controlling the engine control module (ECM) and the transmission control module (TCM). When the PCM fails, it can affect multiple aspects of the vehicle all at once. Common PCM failure symptoms include a Check Engine light, a car that won't start or starts roughly, sudden loss of gas mileage, failing an emissions test, engine stuttering or stalling, erratic or random shifting, and receiving a PCM-related error code.
  4. Bad MAF sensor: A bad mass air flow (MAF) sensor can cause your vehicle to experience poor drivability issues such as engine stalling, jerking or hesitation during acceleration. This can happen while speeding up on the highway on-ramp or cruising down a city street. These issues can create dangerous situations causing accidents and injury. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should examine your vehicle as soon as possible.
  5. Bad ignition switch: The symptoms of a bad ignition switch include a no crank no start, the car turning off while driving, having accessory problems, and the car not turning off. These symptoms can help you diagnose to see if it is time to replace your ignition switch.

It's important to note that these are just some of the common problems with the Chevrolet G35, and there may be other issues that can arise depending on the vehicle's age, mileage, and usage. Regular maintenance and inspections can help prevent many of these problems and ensure the vehicle's longevity and reliability.
