The Chevrolet Aveo (/əˈveɪ.oʊ/ ə-VAY-oh) is a five-passenger, front-drive subcompact car (B-segment) marketed by General Motors (GM) since 2002 over two generations. Originally developed by South Korean manufacturer Daewoo Motors and marketed as the Daewoo Kalos, the takeover of Daewoo by GM to form GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GMDAT) resulted in the car's marketing in 120 countries under seven brands (Chevrolet, Daewoo, ZAZ, Holden, Pontiac, Ravon and Suzuki) — prominently as the Aveo.

Production of the second-generation model ended in October 2020.
Since 2017, GM marketed the Chinese market Chevrolet Sail sedan in Mexico and other Central American countries as the Aveo. Developed by GM PATAC in China and produced by joint venture SAIC-GM, it was positioned below the more advanced Sonic. In 2023, GM imported a new version to Mexico in a sedan and hatchback form, developed and manufactured by another Chinese joint venture, SAIC-GM-Wuling.

THEY NO LONGER CARRY THIS BRAND AND CLAIM THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. MY SPOUSE AND I FEEL THAT THE TIRES THEMSELVES WERE DEFECTIVE, BUT DO NOT SEE ANY RECALL ON THIS PRODUCT. APPEARS THIS VEHICLE WAS WELDED ON OUTSIDE OF CHEVROLET BEFORE TRADE IN. RADIO SPEAKERS APPEAR TO BE BLOWN OUT, POINTS TOWARD WELDING THAT WAS NOT GROUNDED. DEALERSHIP SAYS GOT VEHICLE FROM VERY REPUTABLE INDIVIDUAL. HAS BEEN A VERY BIG LEMON SINCE WE PURCHASED. DEALERSHIP SAY VEHICLE WAS OK WHEN THEY GOT IT.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 1 recalls for different components of the 2010 Chevrolet Aveo.

- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FLUID
- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 Chevrolet Aveo and 2009 Pontiac G3 vehicles. The vehicles may contain brake fluid which does not protect against corrosion of the valves inside the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module, affecting the closing motion of the valves.
- Consequence: If the ABS valve corrodes it may result in longer brake pedal travel or reduced performance, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module, free of charge, in any vehicle that did not have its module replaced under a previous customer satisfaction campaign. The recall began in late September 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), and 1-800-762-2737 (Pontiac). GM's number for this recall is 14505.

I'm so happy with this car! I have the 1LT with Black Metallic paint, XM Radio, rear spoiler, driver convenience package, driver information center, anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, and automatic transmission. The car is extremely quiet both inside and out. All the doors shut with a luxury sound (unlike the tin can sound on other economy cars). Fuel mileage is great - I average 36-40 MPG @ 68 MPH on the highway depending on wind direction/terrain. In the city, the average is more like 29 MPG. Visibility out of all windows is great. For me, there are no blind spots. With OnStar and a superb warranty (100K powertrain), you can't go wrong!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to say that I absolutely love my 2010 Chevy Aveo! Even though it's not the most powerful or stylish car on the road, I still think it's great. The interior is roomy and comfortable, and I've even taken it on a few cross-country moves with my husband and three dogs. Plus, it's super efficient, which is really important to me. I can fill up for about $40 and get almost 300 miles out of it! I've never had any major issues with it, except for a small rip in the driver's seat fabric from wear and tear. Just remember to change the oil regularly and it'll last you a long time. Thanks for listening!

This little car feels way bigger inside than out. I always joke with my wife about how small it is (it's hers but I drive it sometimes). Once inside, I feel as if I'm in a normal-sized sedan, and I drive a minivan, so I really thought it would feel like a go-kart. Anyone complaining about the peppiness or speed is out of their mind. I don't know what people want, a rocket?

I hope you're doing well! I noticed that you were in the market for a car and I wanted to share my experience with you. I recently purchased an Aveo and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The rebate on the Aveo was much larger than the rebate on the Rio, and there are Chevrolet dealerships everywhere, making it very convenient for me. My last car was a Kia Rio and unfortunately, it was a lemon from day one. On the other hand, the Aveo gets fantastic gas mileage and handles high winds with ease. It also has the On-Star feature which allows you to run diagnostics while you drive and receive traffic alerts with the push of a button. The hands-free cell phone service is also a great bonus, costing only 9 bucks for 300 minutes for a year. The car handles and stops well, looks great, and the controls are easy to operate. There's also plenty of head and leg room up front, and the audio features for external gear are top-notch. I highly recommend the Aveo if you're in the market for a new car!

I recently got the hatchback version of this car, and I must say, it drives pretty smoothly. It's not loud, except when I'm accelerating to high speeds on highways/freeways. The gas is cheap on this thing, and it gets good miles to a gallon. It's a simple car that gets you from point A to point B, and it's reliable. If you're not into all the extra stuff and want to save money, this car is perfect for you.

I purchased this car brand new in 2009. I used to buy Toyotas, but I decided to give Chevy a chance. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a big mistake. Currently, I am dealing with issues covered under the lemon law, as the engine keeps misfiring. Although Chevy offered to compensate me for my problems, they were unable to provide me with a 2-year extended warranty. Instead, they offered me free maintenance for a year. While I appreciate the gesture, it falls short of my expectations. I am disappointed with Chevy's customer service and once this car is paid off, I will be returning to Toyota.

I've owned my car for three years now and unfortunately, I've had to spend close to $4000 on repairs. It seems like it's constantly breaking down and I've had to replace just about everything on it, despite it only having one previous owner. While it does have good gas mileage, it's a 2010 model with roll down windows and no electronic locks, which may not be ideal for some people. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this car to others. However, I'm excited to be getting a new vehicle soon! I did have some trouble with the previous car as I owed more than it was worth, but I'm looking forward to a fresh start.

I purchased a 2010 Chevy Aveo because I wanted a reliable little vehicle that was good on gas and it was made by Chevy. However, I have experienced some issues with the car. The ride is rough, it lacks horsepower, and it is not as fuel-efficient as I had hoped, with only 27 MPG. Additionally, I have had some trouble with the car being in the shop for over 20 days due to a compressor issue. While Chevy has been unable to locate the part, I am grateful for the warranty that has allowed me to use a rental car. I have filed a complaint, and I hope that the issue will be resolved soon. In the future, I would suggest considering paying a little more for a more reliable car.

I purchased this car in 2016 with only 50,000 miles on it. At the time, it was just a temporary car while we prepared to move abroad. Unfortunately, I experienced a few issues with the car, such as the tires, tire sensors, alignment, battery, and brake switch going out, which caused the car to be locked in park. Additionally, both headlights went out, and the rear flasher stopped working due to a melted socket. The valve cover gasket also had to be replaced as it was leaking oil on the exhaust manifold. The air conditioning and radiator also failed, which cost me another $2000. I had to fix the faulty wiring, which caused the check engine light to go on and off, and now I need to fix one of the ABS sensors. Despite these issues, I am still hopeful that I can fix the car myself, just like I did with the brake switch. Although the resale value has dropped about 60% in three years, I have learned my lesson and will consider buying a Toyota next time. This is my second Chevy, and unfortunately, both have been lemons.

I bought this car used with 48 thousand miles on it and I was pleasantly surprised to find that no engine repairs have been needed despite its 1.6 liter engine. Additionally, I was impressed by how roomy this compact car is and that I get the advertised mpg. The car handles well and the 100 thousand 5 year powertrain warranty and rust protection warranty are big pluses that attracted me to purchase. Although this car is very basic with no frills like power locks or windows, blue tooth, cruise control, or GPS, the exterior design looks sleek. Overall, I would definitely recommend this car to my friends.
