The Chevrolet Aveo (/əˈveɪ.oʊ/ ə-VAY-oh) is a five-passenger, front-drive subcompact car (B-segment) marketed by General Motors (GM) since 2002 over two generations. Originally developed by South Korean manufacturer Daewoo Motors and marketed as the Daewoo Kalos, the takeover of Daewoo by GM to form GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GMDAT) resulted in the car's marketing in 120 countries under seven brands (Chevrolet, Daewoo, ZAZ, Holden, Pontiac, Ravon and Suzuki) — prominently as the Aveo.

Production of the second-generation model ended in October 2020.
Since 2017, GM marketed the Chinese market Chevrolet Sail sedan in Mexico and other Central American countries as the Aveo. Developed by GM PATAC in China and produced by joint venture SAIC-GM, it was positioned below the more advanced Sonic. In 2023, GM imported a new version to Mexico in a sedan and hatchback form, developed and manufactured by another Chinese joint venture, SAIC-GM-Wuling.

THEY NO LONGER CARRY THIS BRAND AND CLAIM THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. MY SPOUSE AND I FEEL THAT THE TIRES THEMSELVES WERE DEFECTIVE, BUT DO NOT SEE ANY RECALL ON THIS PRODUCT. APPEARS THIS VEHICLE WAS WELDED ON OUTSIDE OF CHEVROLET BEFORE TRADE IN. RADIO SPEAKERS APPEAR TO BE BLOWN OUT, POINTS TOWARD WELDING THAT WAS NOT GROUNDED. DEALERSHIP SAYS GOT VEHICLE FROM VERY REPUTABLE INDIVIDUAL. HAS BEEN A VERY BIG LEMON SINCE WE PURCHASED. DEALERSHIP SAY VEHICLE WAS OK WHEN THEY GOT IT.

- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 Chevrolet Aveo and 2009 Pontiac G3 vehicles. The vehicles may contain brake fluid which does not protect against corrosion of the valves inside the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module, affecting the closing motion of the valves.
- Consequence: If the ABS valve corrodes it may result in longer brake pedal travel or reduced performance, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module, free of charge, in any vehicle that did not have its module replaced under a previous customer satisfaction campaign. The recall began in late September 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), and 1-800-762-2737 (Pontiac). GM's number for this recall is 14505.

This little car feels way bigger inside than out. I always joke with my wife about how small it is (it's hers but I drive it sometimes). Once inside, I feel as if I'm in a normal-sized sedan, and I drive a minivan, so I really thought it would feel like a go-kart. Anyone complaining about the peppiness or speed is out of their mind. I hope you're doing well! I noticed that you were in the market for a car and I wanted to share my experience with you. I recently purchased an Aveo and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The rebate on the Aveo was much larger than the rebate on the Rio, and there are Chevrolet dealerships everywhere, making it very convenient for me. My last car was a Kia Rio and unfortunately, it was a lemon from day one. On the other hand, the Aveo gets fantastic gas mileage and handles high winds with ease. It also has the On-Star feature which allows you to run diagnostics while you drive and receive traffic alerts with the push of a button. The hands-free cell phone service is also a great bonus, costing only 9 bucks for 300 minutes for a year. The car handles and stops well, looks great, and the controls are easy to operate. There's also plenty of head and leg room up front, and the audio features for external gear are top-notch. I highly recommend the Aveo if you're in the market for a new car!

I recently got the hatchback version of this car, and I must say, it drives pretty smoothly. It's not loud, except when I'm accelerating to high speeds on highways/freeways. I purchased my 2010 Chevrolet Aveo hatchback in April 2015 and have now owned it for a year. It was my first vehicle, so I was extremely excited about it. It only had 2800 miles on it and had only two previous owners, making it a pretty new car for a used one. It's a great car for a first-time buyer, although it's not very powerful and can feel a bit unstable in windy conditions. This may be due to its small size. Additionally, I've noticed that the car takes a little longer to accelerate when the AC is on. Despite these minor drawbacks, I'm very grateful for the car I've been blessed with, and it still has some trade-in value, which is awesome!

Based on my understanding of its gas mileage and reliability, I decided to purchase this car. While I am happy with the 26 MPG I get at my job and the 38 MPG on the highway, I have had some issues with its reliability. I have had repeated issues with my Chevy and am disappointed with the overall quality of the vehicle. Despite returning to the dealer multiple times, the same issues persist. The car has exhibited creaks and groans from the frame and bodywork since the first week of purchase, and the mileage falls short of advertised levels. Additionally, the ride quality is poor and the car lacks power. While the interior is nice, the overall experience has been subpar. I question whether this is GM's attempt to rebuild trust after their financial struggles. I would advise caution when considering this vehicle.

This car has been well-maintained with mostly highway miles, currently at 93,300. It has a fuel efficiency of 33 mpg. Although there were some initial alignment issues, they have been resolved. The AC had some problems last summer with the fans not blowing much air out of the vents, but it has since been fixed. Recently, the rear O2 sensor and air intake hose had to be replaced, which unfortunately had to be purchased from the dealer at a high cost of approximately $240 per part. Despite this setback, I am confident in the car's overall performance and reliability. While I may consider other options in the future, I am satisfied with my current Chevy.
