2023 Cadillac Ct4 problems
The Cadillac CT4 is a sedan manufactured and marketed by Cadillac. It replaced the Cadillac ATS sedan and sits below the CT5 in Cadillac's lineup. The CT4-V was unveiled on May 30, 2019, followed by the standard CT4 four months later. Cadillac assembles the CT4 at the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan, as well as in SAIC-GM Jinqiao plant in China.
Overview
The CT4 went on sale in the second quarter of 2020. Following Cadillac's new "Y" trim strategy, the CT4 is offered in base "Luxury" trim, as well as Sport and Premium Luxury trims. The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 237 hp (177 kW; 240 PS) and 258 lb⋅ft (350 N⋅m) torque. Optional with the Premium Luxury is a 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-four, producing 310 hp (231 kW; 314 PS) and 350 lb⋅ft (475 N⋅m) of torque. For 2023, GM China offers a new base engine in the CT4, a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 208 hp (155 kW; 211 PS) and 199 lb⋅ft (270 N⋅m; 28 kg⋅m) torque.
CT4-V
Cadillac unveiled a high performance variant, the CT4-V, on May 30, 2019 alongside the CT5-V to replace the ATS-V. It is powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-four producing 325 hp (242 kW; 330 PS) and 380 lb⋅ft (515 N⋅m; 53 kg⋅m) of torque.

- Summary: The problem first arose in June 2023 with a different car, 2022 CT4V VIN [XXX] . I was driving and suddenly, all the dashboard lights went on and the brakes stopped working. There was no pressure on the pedal. I was able to roll to a stop without incident. I turned the car off and back on again and the brakes worked but the check engine light was still on. I was able to limp the mile back to my house. After almost 6 weeks at the dealer, I was told they replaced a brake module and the car was fine. On [XXX], it happened again. It was towed to the dealer and I refused to drive it again. The car had about 2400 miles on it. They took it back, although claiming nothing was wrong, and I bought the CT4V Blackwing 2023. On [XXX], it happened in the new car (500 miles on it). The dashboard lit up, the brakes wouldn't work, although this time instead of no pressure on the pedal, it was hard as a rock. After turning it on and off again, the brakes worked but the speed was restricted and other things in the car did not seem to be working correctly. The check engine light was also on. The dealership towed it. They told me they could not recreate the problem. Weeks later, I was told that an engineer from GM was looking at it. I received a call from some customer support department person who eventually told me that there was nothing wrong with the car, that the brake failure was a result of the Allstate Milewise device that was plugged in and they would not do anything for me. My husband has a Milewise in his Chevy truck with no issues. I found a forum online discussing this problem which has apparently happened to numerous people in CT4V and Blackwings. - Summary: The vehicle shut off while driving on the feeder of the highway. Vehicle was no longer responsive and had to be towed to Central Cadillac of Houston; where later it was determined that the vehicle needed a new engine. The Vehicle is a 2023 with less than 5,000 miles on it. Currently General Motors/Cadillac is not acknowledging that a buy back is needed for the vehicle, even though it meets requirements for the Texas Lemon Law.

- Summary: Early morning starts, backing out of my garages which has a slight angle to is and then putting the car in drive and accelerating at a low speed when car reaches 10 miles per hour the engine races and the transmission hesitates. This only happens on the at the start of the day. Doesn't happen again until the next day. It does this 90% of the time. Additionally, throughout the day if you let up on the gas and coast then accelerate it take a few second for the transmission to reengage.

- Summary: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
- Consequence: DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. This recall expands previous recall number 22V-827.

Bought this car used with less than 9,000 miles. The car looks fantastic! I was amazed at the acceleration and handling of the car that only has a 4-cylinder. I like it much better than the 335i BMW that I had. If you're looking for a low mileage sports sedan, you should definitely check one out.

It's important to note that I traded in a 2018 XTS that I absolutely loved. I've had a Corvette on order for 14 months with a TPW 2nd week Dec. As I'm not getting any younger and I have issues with shrapnel from 3 battle tours, it makes it hard to get in and out of most cars. I sold my 2019 Mercedes SL450 because of this. However, I had to have a mid-engine American-made performance car. Originally, I planned on getting a 5 series Blackwing and flipping the Corvette. Then, I thought I'd look at a 4 series Blackwing and keep the Corvette. I'm so glad I did! While this Blackwing gets a lot less MPG than my XTS and doesn't ride as well, it's still a great car. I'm betting it's a lot better than a Corvette, and it has four doors! I only have 250 miles on it, so just like the Corvette, I'm not able to use 100% of the HP until I put 600 miles on it. I will say that I'm glad I went with the baby Blackwing and the Corvette, even though that 668 HP 5 series sounds intriguing. I'll have the Vette when I have the need, the need for speed.

The car was even better than I expected! It's a classy Black Raven color and fully loaded with all kinds of safety features, including a sound system with 14 speakers. I really enjoy the comfort of the ride and the great looking interior. It's definitely a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish car. UPDATE: I still think it's a great looking car with a nice ride, and it has everything you need for a comfortable drive.
