2016 Bmw M6 problems
The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2018 (with a break from 1990 to 2004).
Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. An M6 model was built for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production of the M6 ended in 2018 and it was replaced by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) in 2019.
E24 M635CSi/M6 (1983–1989)
The M6 lineage began in 1983 with the M635CSi model of the E24 6 Series range, which was powered by the M88/3 DOHC straight-six engine (which was a modified version of the engine used in the BMW M1 supercar). In most countries, the model was badged the M635CSi, however the equivalent model in North America and Japan was simply badged in "M6".
The European-specification M635CSi used the M88/3 engine (without a catalytic converter), which generated 210 kW (286 PS; 282 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 340 N⋅m (251 lb⋅ft) at 4,500 rpm. The M6 version, sold in North America and Japan, used the S38B35 engine (with catalytic converter), which generated 256 hp (191 kW; 260 PS) and 330 N⋅m (243 lb⋅ft) at the same engine speeds. The catalyzed engine was also used in European and other market cars beginning in the summer of 1987, with identical specifications to the federalized engine. The sole transmission for all models was a 5-speed Getrag 280 manual transmission.
Other changes included BBS RS wheels, a rear lip spoiler, a larger front air dam, larger front brakes and revised suspension with a 10 mm (0.4 in) lower ride height.
The E24 series became a "world car" for the 1988 and 1989 model years, sporting the same bumpers and aerodynamic treatments as its high-performance counterparts across all markets.
According to BMW, the car can accelerate from 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) in 5.8 and 6.8 seconds for the European and North American versions respectively. The curb weights of the 1987 models are 1,515 kg (3,340 lb) for the M635 CSi and 1,619 kg (3,569 lb) for the M6. A top speed of 255 km/h (158 mph) made the European M635CSi the second fastest BMW automobile ever built next to the M1. The quarter mile time for the M635 CSi has been recorded at 14.5 seconds while 161 km/h (100 mph) is achieved in 15 seconds.
A total of 5,855 cars were produced. Of these, 1,677 cars were imported to North America. Due to the elongated front and rear bumpers, the length of the U.S. models is 4,923 mm (193.8 in).
Production of the E24 M635CSi/M6 ended in 1989.

Common 2016 Bmw M6 problems
The BMW M6 (F13/F06) is a high-performance luxury vehicle produced between 2012 and 2018. While it offers impressive performance and comfort, it has been known to have some common problems, primarily related to the oil pan and electrical systems.
- Oil Pan Issues: Many BMW M6 owners have reported issues with the oil pan, which can lead to leaks and other complications. The oil pan is a critical component of the engine, and any issues can potentially cause significant damage if not addressed promptly.
- Electrical Problems: Electrical faults are common in the BMW M6, which can result in big bills for repairs. These issues can manifest as warning lights or messages on the dashboard, and it's essential to address them promptly to avoid more severe problems down the line.
- Water Pump Electrical Short Circuit: A potential short circuit on the water pump of some 6 Series models made between 21 December 2010 and 2 September 2011 could lead to an under-hood fire. If your car is affected, a BMW dealer will be able to confirm and arrange to have the pump replaced.
- Front Seat Manufacturing Issue: Both front seats of a small number of examples built between 7th and 18th July 2017 could have a manufacturing issue where a bolt might not have been tightened correctly and may work loose. If your 6 Series is one of those affected, a technician at a BMW dealer will need to inspect the car and replace the bolt.
- Crankshaft Sensor Fault: A fault with the crankshaft sensor on 6 Series manufactured from 17 May 2018 to 5 June 2018 could affect how the engine runs. Speak to a BMW dealer for further information, because a new sensor will need to be fitted to examples affected by this recall.
- Crankcase Bearing Bushing: Some 6 Series models made from 24 September 2018 and 24 January 2019 may have a crankcase bearing bushing that might not have been pressed into the engine correctly. Cars that are involved will actually need to have a new engine fitted, so speak to a BMW dealer for further information.
It's important to note that the BMW 6 Series, including the M6, has achieved a high score of 94.9% for reliability in the latest survey, with BMW as a brand ranked 9th out of 31 car brands featured. However, it's crucial to address any issues promptly to maintain the car's reliability and avoid significant repair costs.

BMW m6 do I need to say anymore? The Best car I ever seen! Purchased my M-6 in April 2016, and now it's September 2016 and my wife Connie and I are still in love with our 2013 M-6 with 8000 miles and now with 11,000 miles. It's been an amazing ride!

The car is truly stunning and I can't emphasize that enough. I received so many compliments while driving on the road or entering/exiting the M6. It has a sophisticated look and is packed with power under the hood. The ride is sporty, so it may take some getting used to, but you can switch to comfort mode for a smoother cruise. The car is incredibly powerful, especially with the competition package which takes it to 610hp. At low speeds, it may feel a bit heavy, but once you hit the gas, it's as nimble as a cat. Once you get the hang of the power, you'll notice that it can easily hit 90-100mph. The braking is superior and the gear shift is unique and one of my favorite features. Even a novice can easily use the manual driving option. The M mode features for personalization are great, allowing you to switch from a comfortable cruising vehicle to an all-out track-ready monster with just a push of a button. The infotainment system may take some time to get used to, but it's worth it. The Bang & Olufsen sound system is fantastic, and the speakers even light up at night. The seats are incredibly comfortable, and the heating and massage features are a nice touch. Although there are seats in the rear, they are only suitable for a small child of 6 years or younger. The trunk is larger than most 4-door cars, and the reverse camera is one of my favorite features. It comes out under the BMW symbol in the back, which means it's always covered and not affected by rain or snow.

I recently purchased this car and although I will unfortunately lose a lot of money, I have had a great experience with it so far. As a daily driver, I have put 88,000 miles on it in just three years and have not encountered any issues. While the fuel economy may not be the best, the car's ability to reach over 100 mph in just a few seconds makes it worth it. Additionally, the car handles great in all different drive settings, which is a huge plus. My wife has the M1 and I have the M2, which offers both comfort and sport settings. The air conditioning is the best I have ever had and the ventilated seats are a game changer. Despite what some may think, the car has plenty of space with the back seats and removable top. I have even used it for marketing trips and have been able to transport large items like TVs with ease. Lastly, the black paint is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to read my recommendation, I highly recommend this car!

I absolutely love my M6! It's the 600 HP competition model, which is my second M6 convertible and my third six series. The car is stunningly beautiful and has enormous power and torque. Once I understood all the settings on the transmission and chassis and set them to my liking, I found that it has enormous road grip and handling, making it fun to drive. Despite being a fairly big car, it also has much more trunk space and usable areas, as well as comfort, than most sports convertibles. The huge drilled rotor brakes are superb, and coupled with that superb BMW engine, they give great confidence to the drive. Although I use my 750 as my daily driver, I really look forward to pulling out this M6 competition in the evenings or on weekends. To me, it has a great balance of power, beauty, and relative usability. The excitement never goes away when I push the button to start and hear that beautiful sound from the titanium exhaust, and start heading down the highway. It's kind of like jumping on a beautiful stallion and going for a ride - the excitement still puts a big smile on my face!

This BMW was one of my favorite cars! I've owned five in a row and this one was definitely one of the most reliable and enjoyable. I only sold it because I wanted to upgrade to a brand new M8!
