2007 Bmw 760li problems
The BMW 7 Series is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured and marketed by the German automaker BMW since 1977. It is the successor to the BMW E3 "New Six" sedan and is now in its seventh generation.
The 7 Series is BMW's flagship car and is only available in a sedan bodystyle (including long wheelbase and limousine models). It traditionally introduces technologies and exterior design themes before other models in BMW's lineup.
The first generation of the 7 Series was powered by straight-6 petrol engines, and following generations have been powered by inline-4, straight-6, V8 and V12 engines with both natural aspiration and turbocharging. Since 1995, diesel engines have been optional in the 7 Series.
Unlike the 3 Series and 5 Series sedans, BMW does not offer a full M model, but once offered an M performance variant, the BMW M760 with its 6.6L V12 (at the time the most powerful BMW ever made, not to be confused with BMW 760 6.6 V12 which does not offer the same performance). The Alpina B7 (G12) served as the high-performance variant of the 7 Series.

Common 2007 Bmw 760li problems
The 2007 BMW 760Li, a luxury vehicle powered by a V12 engine, is known for its smooth ride and impressive performance. However, like any vehicle, it can experience certain issues over time. Based on owner complaints and repair data, here are some common problems with the 2007 BMW 760Li:
- AC Condenser Replacement: The air conditioning system in the 2007 BMW 760Li may require condenser replacement due to leaks or failure. The AC condenser is responsible for cooling the refrigerant before it enters the evaporator. If it fails, the air conditioning system may not function properly, leading to uncomfortable driving conditions during hot weather.
- Brake Light Switch Replacement: The brake light switch, which is responsible for activating the brake lights when the driver applies the brakes, may need to be replaced in the 2007 BMW 760Li. This issue can lead to safety concerns, as other drivers may not be aware when the vehicle is braking.
- Emergency Brake Cable Replacement: The emergency brake cable, which is used to apply the parking brake, may need to be replaced in the 2007 BMW 760Li. This issue can lead to safety concerns, as the parking brake may not function properly, increasing the risk of the vehicle rolling away when parked on an incline.
- Transmission Fluid Change: The transmission fluid in the 2007 BMW 760Li may need to be replaced more frequently than in other vehicles due to the high torque output of the V12 engine. This issue can lead to poor transmission performance, including difficulty shifting or slipping gears.
- Air Conditioning System Leak Inspection: The air conditioning system in the 2007 BMW 760Li may develop leaks, which can lead to reduced cooling performance or complete system failure. An air conditioning system leak inspection can help identify the source of the leak and determine the appropriate repair.
- Rack and Pinion Replacement: The rack and pinion steering system in the 2007 BMW 760Li may need to be replaced due to wear or failure. This issue can lead to poor steering performance, including difficulty turning the steering wheel or excessive play in the steering system.
- Oxygen Sensor Test: The oxygen sensors in the 2007 BMW 760Li may need to be tested to ensure proper operation. These sensors monitor the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases and provide input to the engine control module to adjust the air/fuel mixture. If they fail, the engine may run poorly or consume excess fuel.
- Exhaust Muffler Replacement: The exhaust muffler in the 2007 BMW 760Li may need to be replaced due to corrosion or failure. This issue can lead to excessive noise or reduced performance.
- Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement: The drive belt idler pulley in the 2007 BMW 760Li may need to be replaced due to wear or failure. This issue can lead to poor engine performance or difficulty turning the steering wheel.
- Alternator Voltage Regulator Replacement: The alternator voltage regulator in the 2007 BMW 760Li may need to be replaced due to failure or malfunction. This issue can lead to poor battery charging or reduced electrical system performance.
When considering purchasing a 2007 BMW 760Li, potential buyers should be aware of these common problems and have any vehicle they are considering inspected by a qualified mechanic to identify any potential issues. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can help ensure the longevity and reliability of this luxury vehicle.

2007 Bmw 760li recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the 2007 Bmw 760li.
- Manufacturer: BMW of North America, LLC
- Components: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH
- Summary: BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2005-2008 745i, 745Li, 750i, 750Li, 760i, 760Li, and B7 Alpina vehicles equipped with both the Comfort Access and Soft Close Automatic options. In these vehicles, the doors may appear to be closed and latched, but, in fact, may inadvertently open.
- Consequence: The door may unexpectedly open due to road or driving conditions or occupant contact with the door. The sudden opening may result in occupant ejection or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
- Remedy: BMW will notify owners, and dealers will update the door latch system, free of charge. The recall began February 8, 2018. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417 or email BMW at [email protected].
- Manufacturer: BMW of North America, LLC
- Components: AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION
- Summary: BMW of North America LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2006 325i, 325xi, 330i, 330xi sedans and 325xi sports wagons, model year 2007 328i, 328xi, 335i, 335xi sedans and 328i and 328xi sports wagons, model year 2006-2007 525i, 525xi, 530i, 530xi, 550i sedans and 530xi sports wagons, model year 2006 760i sedans, model year 2006-2007 750i, 750Li, and 760Li sedans, and model year 2006 X5 sports activity vehicles, equipped with certain seat types. The front passenger seat occupant detection mat that determines if and how the passenger frontal air bag should deploy in a crash may fatigue and develop cracks which could lead to a system failure.
- Consequence: Should the system fail, in the event of a crash, the front passenger air bag would be deactivated, increasing the risk of personal injury.
- Remedy: BMW will notify owners with an interim notification letter in January 2014 since parts are not currently available. When parts are available, BMW sent a second letter in August and dealers will repair the occupant detection mat to eliminate the possibility that it may crack, free of charge. Additionally, owners of model year 2006-2007 3 Series with standard seats, 5 Series with comfort seats, and Z4 models, will receive an extended warranty on their front passenger seat occupant detection mat. Owners may contact BMW customer relations at 1-800-525-7417 or email BMW at [email protected].
- Manufacturer: BMW of North America, LLC
- Components: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH
- Summary: BMW is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 7-Series vehicles, equipped with both Comfort Access and Soft Close Automatic options, and manufactured August 23, 2004, through September 3, 2007. Due to a software problem, the doors may appear to be closed and latched, but, in fact, may inadvertently open.
- Consequence: The door may unexpectedly open due to road or driving conditions or occupant contact with the door. The sudden opening may result in occupant ejection or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
- Remedy: BMW will notify owners and dealers will update software. The recall began on December 12, 2012. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417 or email BMW at [email protected].
- Manufacturer: BMW of North America, LLC
- Components: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
- Summary: BMW is recalling certain model year 2005-2008 7-Series vehicles, equipped with the Comfort Access option, and manufactured August 23, 2004, through July 24, 2008. The affected vehicles have an electronic key and an electronic connection between the gear shifter and the transmission (shift-by-wire) that automatically shifts the transmission to Park when the driver presses the Start/Stop button to shutdown the engine. If the driver presses the engine Start/Stop button 2 or 3 times within a short time interval, the system may shift the transmission to Neutral rather than Park. If using the electronic key (Comfort Access mode), there would be no protection from the ignition interlock that prevents key removal if the vehicle is not in Park.
- Consequence: If the driver exits the vehicle with the transmission in Neutral and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle may rollaway. Unattended rollaway incidents often result in a crash or cause injury to pedestrians attempting to stop or enter the vehicle or to other bystanders in the path of the vehicle.
- Remedy: BMW will notify owners beginning in November 2012. The remedy became available in March 2013. Owners may call BMW at 1-800-525-7417 or email BMW at [email protected].
