The BMW 7 Series is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured and marketed by the German automaker BMW since 1977. It is the successor to the BMW E3 "New Six" sedan and is now in its seventh generation.

The 7 Series is BMW's flagship car and is only available in a sedan bodystyle (including long wheelbase and limousine models). It traditionally introduces technologies and exterior design themes before other models in BMW's lineup.

The first generation of the 7 Series was powered by straight-6 petrol engines, and following generations have been powered by inline-4, straight-6, V8 and V12 engines with both natural aspiration and turbocharging. Since 1995, diesel engines have been optional in the 7 Series.

Unlike the 3 Series and 5 Series sedans, BMW does not offer a full M model, but once offered an M performance variant, the BMW M760 with its 6.6L V12 (at the time the most powerful BMW ever made, not to be confused with BMW 760 6.6 V12 which does not offer the same performance). The Alpina B7 (G12) served as the high-performance variant of the 7 Series.

Common 2010 Bmw 750li problems

The BMW 750Li 2010 is a luxury sedan that has been praised for its power, comfort, and handling. However, like any vehicle, it has its share of common problems reported by owners.

One of the most frequently mentioned issues is related to the wheels and tires. Some owners have reported that the aluminum wheels crack easily, even in normal driving conditions, leading to loss of air in the tires, especially at high speeds. This problem has been attributed to the stiffness of the tires, which transmits vibrations to the rims, causing cracks. Replacing the damaged wheels and tires can be costly, and BMW has been criticized for denying responsibility and blaming the owners for poor driving habits.

Another issue reported by owners is the frequent need for repairs, particularly in pre-owned models. Some 2010 BMW 750Li owners have reported having to deal with various problems, including a faulty alternator, crankcase ventilation lines, trunk latch, lower front control arms, and air suspension, which have required multiple visits to the dealership for repairs.

In addition, some owners have reported software issues with the audio system, causing complete loss of sound, including from the radio, navigation, parking sensors, and other functions. These issues have required multiple repairs and reprogramming, with some owners expressing frustration at the lack of support from BMW in extending the warranty or covering the costs of repairs.

The 750Li's petrol engine, specifically the 4.4-liter V8 in the 750i model, has also been criticized for cooling issues, injector contamination, carbon buildup, and a weak timing chain

. Diesel engines, while generally more reliable, suffer from common issues such as injector, fuel pump, high-pressure fuel pump, EGR valve, and DPF filter problems

. Regular oil changes are recommended to maintain the longevity of the diesel engines.

In summary, the BMW 750Li 2010 has been praised for its power, comfort, and handling, but it has also been reported to have issues with wheels and tires, frequent repairs, software problems, and engine-related concerns. Potential buyers should be aware of these issues and consider the costs and challenges associated with maintaining and repairing this luxury sedan.
